As Above So Below
If I don't drink water, I'll die of dehydration! Someone get me some water. If I don't eat food I'll starve! Someone buy me food. If I run out on the expressway in front f a car, I'll get hit and die. Someone give me money to save my life.

Millennial mentality...

these 2 assholes specially
the first did a bunch of UFO hoaxes in the 60's and was know for his tabloid level of reporting, later in his life he did a 180 and started becoming a skeptic and laughing in the face of ufology, forgetting that he was one of the people who started this reporting style that haunts ufology to this day
the second is either one of the most gullible people to have ever existed or a barnum wannabe depending on your view and he started the hollow earth line of thinking wich also haunts ufology to this very day
If you read the Ray Palmer biography, he became the P.T. Barnum of the UFO field. Once Palmer latched onto Richard Shaver, he found the cash cow he had been searching for.

So this is funny stuff

To hear all the gory details you need to be a member of the Paracast Plus, but here's teaser for you:

Greenfield: 22:25: "Unless of course one believes the stories about alien and human interactivity producing such things as stealth technology. The UFOs of the 1940s are remarkably like much later aircraft, and I'm aware of the flying wing and I'm aware you know that you can project out and I'm aware, very aware of the whole long history of science fiction cause it's kinda my hobby, but nevertheless it is rather remarkable that the stuff that appeared on the cover of Kenneth Arnold's Book, looks remarkably like a stealth bomber of today, almost as if the idea was given to the government. Certainly there's no reason to believe that Arnold or his friend Ray Palmer never had sufficient engineering knowledge to project that as a probable future."
Okay. I think most people can see where this is going. Greenfield clearly brings up the idea of alien and human interactivity producing such things as stealth technology. I make the point that one just needs to read enough about stealth technology to know that it evolved from the flying wing, and the response from Greenfield is denial and to take it as personal slight on his reputation ( which wasn't the case at all ). While he's at it, he lobs one back at me and attempts to invoke the argument that I don't get it because I have a physicalist perspective. You can hear Greenfield continue his descent into the quicksand by joining the Paracast Plus and checking out the ATP episode.

So now the model is to keep the juicy bits behind the paywall.

The awful truth is the paracast plus offers nothing of great value.

In my time there i paid for and gifted a months free paracast plus to many members, the rationale being that if they saw the value they would renew that subscription. Not one of them did.

A good product is often offered as a free sample, If the product is good the consumer will continue to purchase it.
No one did.

Keeping the "good bits" behind the paywall as Randall is now suggesting is the business model will just speed the inevitable end of the show.

An interesting thought experiment is to insert some kind of addiction into the stream of semi-consciousness of the endless panhandling emails. If he and his wife are pulling in over $30k per year, then he is full of shit about all his woes. I know people raising families on less than that. They have a difficult time of it, but they get it done without begging or whining and without being evicted. I've seen 'em raise good, solid and reliable citizens too.

Now if there is some chemical dependency we know nothing about, or a serious gambling addiction, the picture begins to make some sense. It's a sordid and unpleasant picture, but it makes some sense. Really, what the hell does he do with his money? We know he is very inefficient at running a household and constantly makes bad decisions, but where does the cash go? How much rent has he actually paid this year? $2,000? I know it's expensive to live in a motel for a month, especially since you have to pay up front and can't stiff them, but where does the money go? As dozens of us have been saying for months, it just doesn't add up.

Can you think of any of these Paracast guests that are worth buying the 'Plus' feature? I can't. Most of these guests can be found talking on YouTube someplace. Usually the interviews on YouTube are much more informative than the Paracast Plus anyway.

Steinberg has stated that his wife doesn't like to cook. They end up eating out for a majority of their meals. Pretty nice for someone who supposedly can't raise rent money.

Thats been my sense for a while now.

That either he or Barbera have a serious gambling addiction, everything makes sense in that context.

Your gambling addict displays the same mentality, the unrealistic expectation that what they are doing will pay off if they just stick it out and stay in the game.

Left unsaid in all of this ( I think) I have to feel a little uncomfortable of Paul Kimball's "relationship" to this. I know him and Gene were solid a few years back then they seemed to have soured. And then by late 2016 he was back in good graces and "sharing" a customer base, it would seem. The point being is that Paul has to be aware of this blue smoke and mirrors stuff , especially of Chris's departure. I mention this because I like Paul and think he's a straight up guy.

I don't understand the Kimball/Steinberg buddy buddy thing. Kimball was offering Steinberg free use of some video content for the Paracast Plus. Kimball is a lawyer. He has to have heard all the talk about Steinberg's financial nonsense. He is still onboard with all this?

Paul hasn't taken any steps to dis-associate himself with Gene or so it would seem , it may may be nothing. But I would be wary of doing anything with Gene that sounds like an endorsement, best to avoid getting caught up with a trickster.

I usually find an uploader who will put the George Knapp episodes on Youtube, although Premier Radio is aggressive taking down the uploads. I mean, its FREE on AM radio, and they want to charge $8 a month for old episodes, when everything by Noory is worthless?

For example, Knapp is on tonight with Elizondo. I'm not going to drop $8 a month for that though.

Well as you probably know Biedny said YEARS ago that the Steinbergs ate all their meals out. Gene, iirc, did not dispute this at the time but last year or thereabouts put up a pseudo FAQ about his lifestyle where he claimed he ate at home, frugally.

But even if Barbara doesn't like to cook, for heaven's sake, Gene could cook, or they could make things that require very little effort, like microwaveable meals etc. That would still be cheaper than dining out or getting carry out.

Oh well.

I also think Biedny said Gene drove out to get his wife coffee daily because the claim was if they had a coffee machine of some sort in their home she would just drink it non-stop all day long. (So maybe buy decaf...?) Who knows.

His latest email is quite irritating though, he needs our donations to stay in the motel, yet acknowledges he is saving money for an apartment. I mean come on Gene, we can pay attention for the duration of one email and realize as usual you have money, you just hope to avoid spending it. I think you're going to be paying for that motel room for awhile.

Strongly agree with all this. Money would be tight on $30K/year but when their rent was $681/month, possibly they could've made it, particularly if Gene was driving for Lyft and Uber then. And we know for certain he was asking for donations in days immediately before his bankruptcy (and for years prior, in fact).

But even with the alleged Lyft / Uber money, and whatever he rakes in from donations he keeps getting evicted.

(And from looking at his fundraiser on Facebook, money from the donations is not $0 - he's pulled in $471 there in just under two months. I've also seen some comments from people that make it sound like they sent him some cash via PayPal, bypassing the fundraiser. So maybe he's getting an extra $300 or so a month via begging? Possibly? Likely it was more at one point.)

So yes then we're left with the question, where does the money go? I don't think he's a secret millionaire but it certainly doesn't add up.

Perhaps he has a compulsion that keeps him from spending money on certain things - such as rent - unless he absolutely has to. Or, maybe he is just addicted to the begging as has been suggested many times. I believe he thinks he needs money though, for what it's worth... the evictions and judgments against him make me think his finances are ugly at best. The way he begs even while he has cash is quite offensive. I'm sure people with less money set aside than Gene have donated to him before.

Frankly he is the last person we could expect to ever come clean about all this so we'll likely never know the truth. I wonder if his own son even is aware of whatever dynamic is at work here.

The money for rent should be there. All the figures show that.
So it may be a gambling or other addiction issue.
Or it may just be that unpaid rent is free money.

I had a similar situation in the family years ago. A sister in law decided to buy a small farm that does OK exporting native flowers to japan etc.
So she decided to rent the home she had in the city. I advised her at the time to get a real estate agent to manage it and that the cost of an agent was worth it.
Instead she rented to her sister and deadbeat husband.

They ended up defaulting on 20 grands worth of rent before she had to evict them. They could afford it, were putting their kids through private schools and leasing a pair of mercedes benz cars.
But their attitude was we have no house, she has two. screw it she can afford it.

I can easily see gene adopting a similar attitude to renting, "poor me i lost all my money on my brother in laws scam"
The landlord has a home, and at least one, maybe more to rent. I have a choice between paying this rich fat cat money he doesn't need, or spending it on myself.

He seems quite happy to rip off anyone he can, be they landlords or listeners.

And if it comes to pass he does hit rock bottom and winds up living in his car, no one is going to help him. He cried wolf too often.

Why is BURNT STATE still on the Paracast forum? He had been totally fed up with being used by Gene on the show. But he is still there. Humans are inexplicable to me.

There is something fishy here, He has to know he cant pay for a roof over his head via donations.
He has to know that he doesnt make enough income to pay rent, hasnt been able to for a long long time.
That his fortunes are not going to change, will in fact get worse over time.

My own opinion, those changing fortunes should be his chief concern right now, not these "online stalkers" he obsesses over (although I am sure some of that is just a play for sympathy).

So far as I can see:

- He and his wife are not going to start getting higher Social Security checks.

- His podcasts are in decline. His begging drove off not one but two co-hosts, who were apparently the main draw to begin with. I would have to imagine any associated legitimate revenue is also declining.

- He seems to be driving less and less for Lyft and Uber and as he gets older I'd expect that trend to continue. (He could have more years at that than I imagine, assuming he can hang onto an adequate car.)

- Doesn't look like he's published anything for years and years, and I haven't seen or heard any indication he's working on anything else.

- There will always be new blood who might donate but as word spreads about him, the trickle could become a drip. I've already seen him lament he has "worn out his welcome" (after how many years??) with the folks he begs from.

It's not pleasant, it's not good, but it's just kind of reality for most of us as we age, our ability to earn money tends to decline. So much seems to be working against him at this point, and what he has been doing hadn't really worked well to this point anyway.

It is sad but you have made a very key point here, one that could be hard for anyone to face. I fully expect he will continue to blame everyone else and keep marching down the same road, quickening his pace if possible.

It comes down to this. Steinberg is basically a lazy person and now that he is in his seventies it has come to bite him in the ass. He had this strange idea he could make lots of money running a UFO website. That certainly didn’t happen so he took to begging his co-hosts, members of his podcast and guests for money. He has burned virtually all his bridges. He also cannot tell anyone the real truth about his situation. No one believes him these days.

I believe it was on a show from last year. Chris O’Brien brought up the fact that he had to work multiple jobs in order to make ends meet. All this went right over Steinberg’s head. He couldn’t fathom working one real job let alone three jobs. He only has one possession worth selling. The Paracast. He will never do that because it is his one avenue to asking people to give him funds, never to be paid back.
