And, no, I am NOT stuck in the 50s. That’s a common way people misinterpret my contention that UFO research hasn’t changed since the 50s.

Yet another example of the way Gene tries to twist things to fit his delusional version of reality. First, of course, UFO research certainly has changed since the 50s, and to claim otherwise just shows how ludicrously out of touch he is. But that claim is not why so many people say he's stuck in the 50s. No one has misinterpreted anything. He is clueless about what has happened in UFO research, along with no end of other things, since he was in his prime. Hmmm. That would have been when he was working for that other bullshit artist, Moseley. His master taught him well, but not quite well enough.

Nope looks like he deleted it. Or whoever runs his site did. I messaged him there as well to respond to the comment.

In order to know if it had changed he would need to be acquainted with UFO research. The thing is he has never actually done any UFO research not even in the basic sense of actually reading any books (at least not since the 50s or 60s and even that is debatable) so how he would actually come to such a conclusion is a mystery in itself.

Perhaps it is psychic knowledge ;)

Again this is just lazy thinking. It sounds like he can't be bothered to research it so he just assumes it is exactly the same.

Meanwhile his own co-host Cristopher O'Brien was actually trying different things using new technology (in his own research) but Steinberg seems to have missed that.

I think that pretty much proves that he wasn't even listening during his own shows.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was catching up on Marvel shows on Netflix (or composing the next begging letter) whilst recording the show.

His interjections in the conversation are almost always completely pointless and lack any kind of relation to the greater conversation.

By continuing to say that nothing has changed since the 50s he gives himself a useful excuse to continue being lazy and not really engaging in the field. Same way he uses his age, or a lack of decent work as an excuse to not pursue other jobs and keep begging.

Very strange. Can't see why he would delete it. Maybe he is so traumatised by the Steinberg experience that he can't even bear to see any mention of him now.

Or maybe he doesn't wanted to be reminded of how long he helped enable this huckster for so long. I don't think he should feel bad. It is easy to be manipulated and taken in by con-men. I don't blame him for Gene's actions and he did do the right thing (eventually) in leaving.

I wonder... When Steinberg was getting Apple products to evaluate, how many of them conveniently stayed in his possession?

I understand why Chris stuck around so long. The show had a huge audience back in the day, and the "brand" still carries considerable weight (probably not for much longer, though). Chris said earlier this year he was waiting for Gene to retire so he could take the show into the present century and do some good things with it. To someone like Chris, all those downloads and the traffic on the forum would be hard to walk away from. He is, in my opinion, the only real UFO researcher to have been a regular co-host on the show. I'm sure he hoped that putting up with all of Gene's bad habits and constant interrupting of guests would eventually pay off. He should have been paid for his work, and even if we use Gene's examples above and take them at face value (yeah, right), Chis was still getting stiffed. Sure, Gene was the one to call up his boring old cronies for another moan 'n groan session, but I know Chris was the one getting high caliber people like Vallee on the show.

It does not surprise me that Chris does not want his site to become another node on the Scheme Gene Research Community Network. I would probably be the same way.

Even better is why someone who constantly complains about the slumlords and unreasonable costs of everything, goes out and actively supports the biggest money hoarding corporation in human history.

One of his tech night owl letters were a lot of 'rah rah Apple' stuff for getting multi-billions out of their patent suits. It's pure irony this arrogant panhandler has been a full on shill for two of the worst ethical corporations in human history: America Online and Apple.

You might look for the recent Chris O'Brien interview on Radio Misterioso to hear his mind set and future plans.

All he needs to do is rob a few graves to be like his buddy Moseley.

I wonder if I send this link to Gene what his response would be:

phoenix apts/housing for rent - craigslist

It's Phoenix area Craigslist, max rent $800, and there's hundreds of results.

Here's one right on top for $625 a month:

*** OWNER-MANAGED COMMUNITY. WALK TO LIGHTRAIL AND SHOPPING ***

It's no gated community, but it's a reasonable budget option to live within reasonable means.

I would email him this information just to see what excuse he's got at the ready to explain that he's above staying in a place like that. Chances are I'll end up on his begging email list forever if I do though.

Anyone got a burner account they want to give a shot? I would love to hear the excuses he has for something like this.

Might as well make my first post about Steinberg and The Paracast .

    Two points :

    1. The main conflict about Steinbergs begging seems to be if hes actually commiting fraud or not. In other words , does he lie when he asks for donations ( him being lazy is besides the point ) ? There actually is one example of this thats been missed becouse , i think , it's so obvious. Gene specifically asks people to donate to him so that he can pay rent. It turns out however that he never pays rent becouse if he did he wouldnt constantly be evicted.

    2. My biggest issue with The Paracast as a show is how narrow it is. The same guests talk about the same cases over and over. Theres a million UFO cases but for some reason The Paracast will not talk about anything but Roswell, Rendelsham , Kecksburg, Pheonix Lights, Travis Walton ,Lonnie Zamora and a few more. BORING

And whats the deal with Steinbergs hatred of ETH ? It's so weird

People have tried this sort of thing before.

He always has an excuse as to why these sorts of suggested properties are not suitable (he won't usually clarify why though) - that's if he doesn't outright ignore the suggestion.

There's also the possibility that he could weave such a gesture into one of his tales of internet persecution. - "The pack of haters have now starting sending me details of properties that they are trying to rent in my name/my wife's name, the online haters are now contacting property owners and turning them against me".

It's pretty clear he is not interested in solving his accommodation problem by living within his means.

He just wants people to send him money. That is all he will accept.

Indeed even if you offered to pay his rent for him directly I doubt he would want that. He wants to get the money in his own hands so he can burn it or buy a new car or do whatever the hell it is he does with it.

Remember people have sent him money (in some cases quite a lot) and he still didn't pay his rent with it. He still got evicted.

Anyone trying to help him directly should understand that by now.

In fact the only way to help him is to send him nothing and call him out for his constant begging so that others don't get conned.

I agree that all he wants is money. He always has a reason why anything other than just handing him cash isn't really helpful or appropriate in his case.

So far as cheaper lodging goes, one of the arguments I've seen him mount is that the cheaper places tend to be less well insulated so wind up costing a lot more to keep cool. That was his rationale for not living in a trailer again, for example. I do not know if this is the case, only that I've seen him dismiss more affordable accommodations on those grounds.

You'd think he would have been a hell of a lot better off staying in the $681/month trailer with the more understanding landlord. But, he burned that bridge.

This is the best bit. I have unsubscribed twice in the past. The messages stopped briefly but after a while they came back.

I think once Steinberg realised that nobody wanted to volunteer for his begging list ("To receive regular updates, please sign up here: Gene Steinberg's Personal Messages") and Paracast listeners no longer wanted to hear his crap he decided to "accidentally" resubscribe people.

Not to mention the fact that the Paracast newsletter is supposed to be for Paracast news (not news on how well the host is paying his bills) and Steinberg has promised multiple times it won't be used for his begging only to start doing exactly that.

He tries to pretend that only people who want to see his begging get these messages but that is complete and utter crap.

If you have ever connected with Gene in any way online (e.g. social media) he will start hounding you there with his begging messages.

I just wonder what kind of person actively wants Gene to send them begging messages. I would hazard a guess and say nobody. Yet for some reason Gene can't (or won't) compute this.

It's almost as if he thinks he is doing a good thing.

I tried to unsubscribe once and the system wouldn’t let me. I sent a text message to Steinberg but he basically ignored my request to personally unsubscribe me. I got in his grill and he said he took care of it. I was still get the occasional plea for money but I put his e-mail address in my blocked list to finally take care of the problem.
