    Great post.

I'm thinking at this point Steinberg used this classic George Carlin bit as a life model:

    Hi Gene,
Since you've been using the Paracast Newsletter list to distribute your personal funding requests, I guess this is the best place to ask...

Lots of charities that ask for donations are (and have to be) very transparent about money received, how the receipts are budgeted, expenses and so forth. Maybe some of your critics would be silenced if you showed how much came in from donations/Uber & Lyft, etc. (it would be easy to compile, as I'm sure you're tracking it all for tax purposes).

People are skeptical nowadays and transparency is always the best way to earn their trust.

The response from Gene is priceless:

Obviously the last thing he wants is to make any information publicly accessible because that will allow people to put together even more pieces about what he is doing. It is also bizarre that he thinks that just because he is asking for personal donations it does not count as charity.

Just a heads up. Steinberg posted by Facebook that he could use some (free) legal help to go after “criminals and stalkers” who are annoying him. Priceless!

People who don't use turn signals annoy me, can we go after them as well?

I'm surprised he even responded at all, he usually deletes and bans the person. Glad he can act indignant about a question though, as usual for him.

And saying no one is ever asked that, is bullshit. Most people asking for help are in a tough spot with medical expenses and immediately post what the bill looks like online, and go greatly in depth on it - unless they're a fraud like Gene.

But its okay Gene, we don't really have to ask anymore do we? We know for a fact that Scheme Gene needed $1500 a month so he could have a new high model car to drive, get his cable and internet paid for, as well as his new iPhone service plan.

The show is boring, coast to coast is more entertaining, well slightly...

I don't get his hatred for ETH, it's still the most plausible theory with physics and evidence backing it up, besides there isn't going to be one theory that blankets everything, just like one size fits all eh?...

Someone should let him know, even if somehow he got a lawyer who would be stupid enough to take on anything related to him - on the off chance he even got a default judgment from someone - he wouldn't get a cent.

Gene being on the opposite end of 12+ judgments, he should know the only thing he could ever get would go to his creditors.

I'm sure attorneys would be standing in line to do pro bono work for a bankrupt client who lives day to day out of a motel room and doesn't have a pot to pee in.

An anon poster on UFO Trail recently posted this as I think there was some question as to Gene's role in Numis Gems because he claims it was his brother in law's company:

Since he never pays his bills they would likely end up having to sue him.

Looks like he changed his mind. He can't allow anyone pointing out his begging and questioning it on the forums so that message has now vanished and there is only this from Gene:

Personal attack = anyone asking obvious questions about Steinberg's begging

Violation of terms = anything that Steinberg doesn't like

Honestly I think that could just mean that Gene made the website for him. Presumably he was the "tech expert" in the family after all. Someone also produced something on Numis that showed Gene as a or the officer of the company though I thought. So I think there are definitely questions as to Gene's involvement / role in Numis Gems, and then questions (in my mind at any rate) about potential shady practices on Numis Gems' part. Not sure we'll ever get answers but I believe it's a fruitful line of inquiry if one wants to try to dig into the Steinberg past.

I feel like Gene's angle on this is twofold.

His home run would be some shady attorney agrees to push his case for him and get Gene's detractors to cough up money to settle, of which the attorney takes a large cut. Gene gets the rest and has a big day in Vegas or something. God knows.

The less happy option for Gene is people asking questions about him online get scared of a nuisance lawsuit and back off and leave him alone.

I agree the reality is no one is likely to take on his case in hopes of shaking down various anonymous Internet commenters.

Another reality Gene should consider is that he doesn't appear to have had a lot of luck in court.

Man, I can't get over how Gene cannot see, or claims to be unable to see, a difference between his years of begging for living expenses while proclaiming he is in a crisis, vs. someone just asking for donations to help pay part of the cost of their podcast / website. Even folks with their podcast on Patreon where they might be fortunate to raise enough to cover more than the cost of the podcast, there is some transparency and accountability and they are not emailing daily about how their life is in the potential donor's hands.

It's like... I don't know... you might be having lunch with someone and they ask, "Hey mind if I try one of your fries?" vs. their showing up at their house daily demanding you feed them because they are starving. To Gene that would just be the same thing, and if the person showing up at your house is expecting you to feed them because they spent all their money down at the racetrack, well, never mind that.

He has tried to rationalize it in a number of ways. For a while, he was referring to it as "fundraising", as though he were seeking donations for equipment for a Little League team in a poor neighborhood. He's arrogant, duplicitous, normal jobs are beneath him, but yet has no shame about panhandling. Or stiffing landlords. Truly a warped character.

What I have been wondering... has Steinberg paid any taxes on the money that has been donated to him. If he hasn't paid taxes, what justification does he give and why haven't the authorities caught on to him?
