Get Well Soon Nivek,

Hey I arrived back home a few hours ago today, I was in the hospital until this morning and with all of the medication they were giving me I was quite bedridden and slept an awful lot lol...My leg is healing better now but not out of the woods yet...I have to report to the doctor every two days for the next 3 weeks, if I miss one visit they will put me back in the hospital, so I will not be missing any of those appointments...It was staph, they wouldn't say it was mrsa, but the way it spread so fast I think it was, either way could have been worse, they switched antibiotics three times on the first day in the hospital, the first two types weren't working too well...I can walk okay, a little painful but keeping limits on that for now so I don't make it worse...

Thank you to everyone for the get wells and kind words, I missed you all and missed being here!...

We knew it had to be serious, because you're the most diligent discussion forum moderator I've ever seen...somehow managing to keep an eye on this place every day even when you're mad busy at work.

Ordinary staph is incredibly aggressive - it was going around in New Orleans after the 2005 flood, and within a day a spot that seemed like a mosquito bite had become an oozing, gaping, baseball-sized infection. But it responds to standard antibiotics very quickly; if they were striking out with the first couple of treatments then it probably was MRSA.

I'm glad you didn't lose anything important to that infection, and that you're taking it easy at home - getting lots of rest is key to a quick recovery (which is why I think it's insane that they never let you get a good night's sleep in a hospital).

Welcome back, and I think I'll take a break from political discussions for awhile so we don't get into any shouting matches around here while you're trying to chill out =D

A pity you won't make it to the office Festivus party this year. From what you've described it could've been interesting

Nice to be out of hospital I bet and good to know it is not too serious in this case. I've only ever been kept in once and that was so boring.

Had to hang out the window and smoke doobs just to get by.

Definitely have been getting a lot of rest this weekend, the leg is looking better than it has been, I don't tentatively return to work until the 30th...Kobi keeps a watchful eye on things while I'm sleeping too, he's always watching things around the house lol...
