But what keeps them from falling through the floor, or sinking into the ground? Are they also levitating themselves?

Maybe they are keeping themselves from going through the floor similar to us walking without being directly consciously focused on walking, like going up or down a flight of stairs...

The haunted Cambs road where a murdered nun 'jumps out' at drivers
The area holds a dark and sinister history

Hinchingbrooke House is one of Cambridgeshire's most iconic buildings and steeped in history. But it also holds a dark and sinister past, one of love and violence.

Now part of Hinchingbrooke School’s sixth form college, the history of the building is responsible for one of the county's spookiest ghost stories - the murdered nun that jumps out at drivers.

The history of Hinchingbrooke House

The building originated as an 11th-century Benedictine convent. Legend goes that a nun, who once lived in Hinchingbrooke House, had a secret love-affair with a monk. But once the relationship was discovered, they were both executed.

Subsequently, the surrounding area is said to be haunted by the nun's spirit. The nearby bridge over Alconbury Brook, called ‘Nun’s Bridge’, is supposedly haunted by a nun, believed to be the same one that was murdered following her love affair. She steps out in front of oncoming cars, causing them to swerve out of the way.

Some have reported that the nun was accompanied by a ghost which resembles a nurse, whilst others claim to have seen three ghostly crashed cars that silently burn at night. Sightings were first reported by a couple in 1965, but subsequent reports have arisen since then.

The skeletons under the staircase

But whilst many are still dubious to the legitimacy of ghosts, the findings within Hinchingbrooke House itself are much harder to deny.

The skeletons of a man and a woman were discovered under a staircase in the house, believed to be from 994-1050AD. The female’s skeleton showed signs of being pregnant, so many believe that they are the remains of the nun and the monk who had the aforementioned love affair.

In the 1970s, Hinchingbrooke School’s curator told author and ghost hunter Andrew Green about the origins of the building.

The curator informed him of the multiple reports of seeing the ghost of a monk and a phantom dog. The school’s heritage advisor, Mr T.R. Wheeley, said that there were sightings of nuns both on and off the school grounds, as well as hearing sounds of children playing, whispering voices and footsteps when no children were about.

Other separate reports say that there is a cavalier who haunts the room in which he was killed, and a phantom woman who floats above the staircase.

This footage was captured in Swindon, a town in southwest England and the witness states the following " Not sure if this can be explained but I caught what looks like my cat Blackjack, who passed away almost exactly a year ago, materialising on our sofa (far left) when I turned the lights on from my phone. There was nothing black on the sofa just the pillows that are red, grey and cream." When asked Why did you look at your cat, then the camera, then walk away? Her reply was "I didn’t look at the camera lol, I did look at the sofa though and the arm chair that sits just under the camera because I was looking for my other cats to keep them in so I could open the front door to get a piece of furniture out without tripping over the cats" Thanks to Chlochan for allowing me the use of her video and to view the original https://www.reddit.com/r/Ghosts/comme... Ghost Photographed at Haunted Hotel?

5f1aef48b5c5922750b76565

An eerie picture taken at a notoriously haunted hotel in Colorado features what some suspect is the head of a spirit caught on film. The spooky photograph was taken on Sunday evening during a ghost tour at the Stanley Hotel which famously served as the inspiration for the Stanley Kubrick film The Shining. The group's guide, Marina Pirkle, shared the image on Facebook and provided a bit of background as to what people were seeing.

"This was taken tonight by one of my guests on the spirit tour," she wrote, "this is the 'portal' mirror in the basement of the concert hall where people often see glimpses of other dimensions. You can clearly see a face peeking around the side there." Indeed, as Pirkle observed, there does appear to be someone's head looking out from the reflection of the mirror. The original version of the image, which the tour guide later provided, may be even spookier than the enhanced version at the potential ghost looks particularly out of the place in the scene.

Of course, one cannot rule out the possibility that the 'apparition' in the photo was someone else on the tour who happened to be in the right place at the right time, especially since guests are encouraged to take pictures of the mirror in the hopes of capturing something anomalous with their cameras.

The thing about this photo that bothers me is that it's a picture taken of an obscure part of the house, unless it's a cropped pic of a larger image, I wonder why someone would take a picture like that...

This is the spooky moment a ‘ghost’ appears behind a teacher who claims to be alone during an online class.

The mysterious figure appeared at the teacher’s house in the city of Monterrey in the north-eastern Mexican state of Nuevo Leon and the footage has been shared on Twitter by netizen ‘Freddy Gzz’ where it has gone viral.

The clip was accompanied with the message: “Check out what happened to a friend in the middle of an online class. His teacher lives alone and has just moved into that house.”

Frank, from FrankoTV just got a new thermal camera and picked up some really spooky stuff from a graveyard. You would have to be willing to invest 30 minutes though, if you want to watch it. I think it will probably end up on Nukes top 5 next week anyway if you wanted to wait for a shorter version.

He, Frank, also has this thing he does when he's in a supposed haunted place where he says out loud, "Marco?" and then wait to see if there is a response. In this same video there is a voice calling out, "Marco?" lol

This is quite a long video and although interesting, what I really want to know is what are the markings on the box that is taped to the window at approximately 16:26. Anyone know or care to guess?

'Naked man' ghostly figure is spotted in haunted Doncaster church yard

The strange image was caught on camera in broad daylight on Tuesday afternoon – and the husband and wife team who spotted the eerie figure say no one else was in St Wilfrid’s Church at Hickleton at the time. Lee and Linzi Steer, who run the Ghosts of Britain paranormal investigation team, spotted the ghostly apparition during a live stream on Facebook.

“While we were live streaming our investigation, we captured this strange image – what seems to look like a naked man. "No one else was in the graveyard at this time. Plus it was around 2.30pm.” The Rotherham based pair had visited the church on Barnsley Road to investigate the building’s lychgate, which is adorned with three human skulls.

You know those photos that appear to be perfectly normal, but when you look closer something is off? When you look closely at a picture, you can sometimes discover some very extraordinary things. Take the photo above for example. If you see what we see, you will surely get the chills.

The creepy image was taken in a Belfast linen mill in 1900 and features the grandmother of Belfast Live reader Lynda.

Lynda noticed the snap when the channel was putting together a historical gallery featuring the city’s by-gone jobs.

Cheers.
