how easy could we have had non silicon chips for computers,
this amazes me that it was just luck that silicon chips can be made on the scale they are now.
germanium might be what we find in the UFOs or maybe tiny vacuum tubes etched on a chip (russia did this for a while)

I don't know why germanium is not used, at least as an alternative to silicon, or at best have it in full production and use...Hopefully that mine in North Carolina is functioning after this hurricane disaster, but if not and if there are not any alternate sources or materials lined up we may have a huge global economic disaster coming because of Spruce Pine being the sole producer of ultra pure Quartz for our technology...

Nobody is going to take a $2500 gold coin to the supermarket to buy bread and milk. Historically, everyday purchases were done in silver. Gold was for the elites or big purchases, and they typically had castle vaults and guards to protect it. Silver has gone up a bit, but is still undervalued. I can see it being worth much more. Gold finally broke-out of the artificial suppression. Silver could very well be next !
