How is The Coronavirus affecting your life?

So there was absolutely no need to get vaccinated. It didn't change anything.

Indian Variant my ass.

There is a need to be vaccinated, it keeps most people from being hospitalized and the overall percentage of deaths from vaccinated is very very small...Much less risk of dying from covid if you are vaccinated than if not...

Well okay thanks I guess...If you're implying I feel a certain comfort or security from the vaccine you are mistaken...To me it was like getting a tetanus shot since it was the J&J one shot deal lol...I'm not doing it again though, that you can be certain, no boosters or anything else...Its a one-off...

You think the 2 shot ones are the ones that aren't working to protect the vaccinated?

I think natural immunity works best. I took the ones I had to when I was in school. I had no choice. I had all the childhood illnesses like mumps, measles, chicken pox... I've had colds and flu's in the past that lasted maybe 24-72 hours. I even caught mononucleosis in college. All I did was sleep for 6 weeks and I still past with a 97% average. I'm not a whinger, I can take a lot and keep smiling.

This virus flu that I had in January 2001 was the first time I had been seriously ill. It would not have mattered if I went to the doctor because they can't do anything for the cold or flu.

I thought I was going to die in January 2001. That's how sick I was and I went through it all by myself. I was like that for the better part of 6 weeks. I think I deserve a medal. I hate the fact that I am being guilted and or pressured to take a shot in the arm for the safety of others.

I'm 62. I have a weak heart. If I get over heated I am at risk of heart attack or stroke. I smoked for 54 years. I was on the cusp of type 2 diabetes. I can barely walk around for more than 5 minutes before I need a chair because my back hurts so bad. I don't/didn't take any medication and yet I lived. My natural immune system rocks! I don't want to mess with it. Remember that old saying?

"If it ain't broke don't fix it." If something is working adequately well, leave it alone.

I've heard a number of people complaining about covid aftereffects and having been there, done that don't really understand it. But I will say I had a few days of .... ugh ... that I chalked up to allergies but now question that. Couldn't help but wonder if I was fighting off something, felt like it. Covid paranoia maybe.

Around here only a small percentage wear masks. I still don't understand the ones that have to walk around with masks on their neck or chin though. This isn't a nose peeking over a mask. It's not like they put them on to talk to you, they just keep the Adam's apple warm. Have at it I say if it feels good.

How are they doing?...Mild symptoms so far?...

...
Both had really bad symptoms that kept them in bed. My niece is still not doing well, she got a horrible cough that hurt so bad that her dad took her to the emergency room. So far he and her 7 year old daughter are healthy. My sister is doing better but still has a cough and no energy. It has been about a week.

I think the vaccine from Astra Zeneca and Johnson & Johnson are safe. I don't think the other two are. I read up on the mRNA immuno therapies and the side effects are terrible, the most worrisome is that the immune system may over react and cause organ damage. That is on all the lists of the mRNA drugs. And the fact that they weren't tested properly, the data or the test subjects needs to be compiled over years after the vaccine has been given.

Taking the vaccine is not useless, but none of them are 100% effective, not even vaccines that have been in use for decades.

Yesterday at the casino there was a woman who wore her mask to get in then pulled it down and wore it hanging from one ear. It was annoying. They are very strict so I think one of the workers talked to her or made her leave.

Better safe than sorry...get vaccinated imho. I don't know a single person that had any bad effect to the Moderna or Pfizer...except for mild headace and mild body aches that lasted one day. Wife and I had no side effects at all. I think they all are 'safe'.
All in my family had the vaccines..no problems and 3 of them had covid before the vaccine shots.
Is there a risk from vaccine side effects ....very very low one ,but that's true for all vaccines and even antibiotics..some have bad reactions and die. Nothing is foolproof.
I use the Polio vaccine as an example...those who received it in my generation (I'm 70) did not get polio those who didn't get it in time or were unable to became very sock and many died. I had two friends...one ended up with crutches and the other in an iron lung. Granted this was the polio virus and not covid but the point remains that it saved many many lives.

I understand some of the reasons why people don't get the vaccine...I don't agree with their logic...or lack of it imho.
I guess it's like gambling....you take your chances either way but the problem is that those who are gambling are not just affecting themsleves...but possibly others also. How would one feel if the situation was reversed somehow?

Nothing is 100% foolproof...nothing....but the odds drop dramatically if you don't take the medicine....you might survive an infection but with antibiotics or a vaccine or whatever you have a far far greater hope of not dying.

Multi vitamins and D3 every day for us. Im the same age as you and have had all the sickness that kids in them days got. Lack of sunshine is why i believe the retirement homes were hit so hard by covid and their age. I dont trust the shots or the ones pushing them.
On the other hand my mom in her 90s and my youngest son who is 26 have both had the pfizer shots with no ill effects as of yet. We have to make our own choices.
We live in a world where deception is the name of the game and it will only increase right up to the end.

The media. There are plenty examples but this is the one I saw most recently.

No, I don't have friends. I don't have family. I only talk with one person in the building on a regular basis and she is a anti vaxxer.

I wear one on my neck because otherwise I forget it in the car. Some places still make you wear a mask or you can't go in. I don't have the strength to walk back to the car, get the mask, walk back to the store, then shop, then walk back to the car, unload the cart, walk to the cart stall to put it back, walk back to the car......

I know people think that it's not a big deal to wear a mask. I have a very difficult time wearing one. I get over heated. I tend to breath heavier when walking around because it takes great effort with a bad back and a weak heart. By the time I have been in a store for 5 minutes I am perspiring, in pain, and suffering from a lack of oxygen because I can't get enough through a mask that is covering both my face and nose. A nose that is sporting a skin graph, which means I can't breath properly through one nostril.

There's that magical phrase I've been hearing so often lately.... If you're afraid of getting the virus then take precautions. Wear a mask, use gloves, wash your hands after every outing or use hand sanitizers, wash what you purchased before you use it, use social distancing, etc.

If your immune system is compromised, don't take chances.

If you and your family are fully vaccinated and you get the virus, put the blame where it belongs.

Why would you gamble that others are going to protect you?

So, Michael,

99% of those who die from the virus are were not vaccinated.

Around the same percentage of those seriously ill in hospital are not vaccinated.

Why don't these figures mean anything to you ?

By the way, I and all but one of my family have had the Pfizer shots. We all felt ok after them.

...If you and your family are fully vaccinated and you get the virus, put the blame where it belongs...

It is well known you can get the virus even when vaccinated. No one ever said you wont. The whole point is it is less (very much less) likely to kill you.

By the way you have described your health situation, I would predict you would not survive if you contracted it.

Why take the risk ?

A million people die each and EVERY year from mosquito bites. Do you wear protection 24/7 all summer long?

There are no malaria carrying mosquitoes in West Yorkshire .

So, what, do they stop all the birds and mosquitoes at the border and check them every year?

No one can make a claim like that.

I do not think I am bullying you. My apologies if if have come over that way.

I will grant you the courtesy of not responding to your posts in future.

You will be aware that the 'other board' had a habit of removing posts before anyone got a chance to form their own opinion on them.
