How is The Coronavirus affecting your life?

Well I've been exposed to covid twice this morning, got to get tested again ugh..

Took a drive thru test on my way home from work...One guy came in to work sick today and was sent home to be tested but not before passing me and talking to me briefly and then a woman at work was telling people her husband was sick with covid over the weekend and she was tending to him so the bosses caught wind of that and she was sent home to be tested...I don't know why these people come in to work knowing they've been exposed to or have covid...

The bosses at work sent 3 employees, including myself, home early to get tested for covid...In my case my sinuses are running because its cold outside, not because of covid...I'm sure of that but they want to be safe so I'm heading up to the local testing clinic soon to get a covid test...

I received the Moderna booster shot this morning. My wife got the shot a few days ago and she urged me to get mine. No problems occurred. I walked into the pharmacy and I was the only person there for the shot. I don’t feel any adverse effects. I didn’t have any effects for the first two shots.

You're very lucky. The second Moderna shot was awful for me, felt like the entire experience of actually having covid being squeezed into a 12 hour period of time. I've had the disease and took the first two shots so no more for me.

Unless you're over 65 or in some high risk group the Nice Lady at the CDC says you don't need them. At least I heard her utter those words the other day. Next week we'll have to vaccinate our cats......

I was going to bypass the booster shot. My wife urged me to get it. To keep the peace I got the shot. I am over 65 so I guess it would benefit me in some way. Otherwise I got the shot in record time ( I was the only one there in line to get the shot.) It was certainly better than the cattle call that took place at my doctor’s office for the first two shots.

I've given much consideration towards getting a booster shot since the Johnson & Johnson booster is now available however I've decided not to get the shot...If the CDC considers me unvaccinated because I've declined the booster, so be it, I'm not concerned...

My question is this: what if it is decided one booster shot is not enough? I could see this taking on a life of its own. I am okay with this extra shot. I certainly am not getting shot after shot to please some politician or health official.

Yeah I'm not doing shot after shot for covid, not unless this thing turns deadly and people are dropping like flies, we're not there...I don't do an annual flu shot either and covid has become so politicized now it's never about the science anymore with the powers that be...

It is hard to know who to believe. The public gets so many various stories about the Covid shots. Better to play it by ear and use your own judgment.

Like an imbecile, I lost my original Vaccine Card when I received the second dose in February. I expected an email or something, or some other way to login and verify, but there was none. I also didn't know the name or contact info of the organization that administered it.

Eventually, many months later, they tried billing my insurance, so I learned their name. I then sought to obtain the NYS Excelsior Pass. But the website didn't recognize me.

Finally, after several emails I finally got a PNG of the pass. Still, to locate it within the Excelsior system, I had to test which of my phone numbers to use, and which county I should enter for where I received my shots. Turns out, it has to be the county of the company's headquarters, not the actual county where the vaccination was administered. (Dumb.)

I was then able to load Excelsior onto my iPod (yes, I still use one), but it turns out my smartphone is not smart enough! I was thinking of upgrading before, but now I have sufficient impetus.

Last, but not least, I've decided to obtain the booster shot. Walk-ins are supposed to be fine.

Does the state of NY keep a record of vaccinations for New York residents?...North Carolina state health department keeps records of all vaccinations for our state, I can log in and look up my covid vaccination record on their website...When I got vaccinated back in April NC state sent me an email with a link to access the records...

Whatever entity administers the vaccination has to submit the information to the state. I believe the organization that gave me the shot took a long time to submit the information. But once it's done, the state retains it.
