Strangely enough, many of the people I see wearing a mask have it it drooping below their nose. Sometimes I want to say something but I know I would be talking to a wall.

Kim Iversen makes the case for rethinking COVID-19 immunity after a new report appears to cast doubt on the immuno-response of vaccine immunity.

The immunity conferred from actual infection with SARS-CoV-2 may be more effective against infection (or re-infection) than the vaccines alone, but what exactly is the point? In order to get that immunity from infection, you have to actually get infected by the virus, and take the all the risks of that to your health and to the health of those around you. I would rather take a vaccine before being exposed to the virus, thanks. And it is likely at this point that everyone is going to be exposed to the virus.

No one wants to become infected, but it happens. I have already been infected and that is why I am reluctant to take the vaccine. If I can I want to wait and see if something more reliable comes along or if all the kinks that can be harmful to your body from the vaccine can be eliminated. Time is all I want because I already went through the illness. In the mean time I will be careful to follow all the rules of the pandemic.

OK, we've all become expert chemists and biologists.

What I remember - totally off the cuff - is a series of NPR reports from years ago (possibly before 2000) that may have been the genesis of the anti-vaccination crowd. Something to do not with the vaccines themselves but a bundled delivery method. Separately they weren't a problem but combined they were and no doubt pharmaceutical $$ was at the root of it. It was causing problems with the children that received it. Combined vaccines have been around quite a while, there was something specific about the new process they were using. Since I don't have kids I wasn't too worried about it but for whatever reason remember a little about it. Not hard to see how THAT could morph into something else and I think it might have done just that.
I followed this at the time. The British doctor and medical researcher Andrew Wakefield published a study in 1998 claiming a link between autism and the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) combination vaccine. The study was published in the prestigious Lancet medical journal. This triggered a wave of other publications examining the link and legitimized anti-vaccine sentiment among the medical community for several years afterwards, before journal editors apparently had enough and put an abrupt stop to it all.

Upon investigation, by the Sunday Times newspaper and others, fraudulent manipulation of data on the part of Wakefield was discovered, along with an undeclared conflict of interest by which he stood to make significant financial gains from the publication of his research. He was referred to the General Medical Council, which held an inquiry and then, at a disciplinary hearing, he was struck off the medical register, no longer being allowed to practice medicine. The initial paper in the Lancet was retracts and

The editor of the Lancet was then, and is now, Richard Horton, who apparently feels remorseful for effectively giving birth to the modern 'anti-vaxx' movement on both sides of the Atlantic. Although, he has form for rashly short-cutting the peer-review process to publish controversial papers. For example, a study into civilian deaths in Iraq a few years after the Coalition invasion, an open letter dismissing "conspiracy theories" suggesting that SARS-CoV-2 may have escaped a lab, and a fraudulent study claiming that hydroxychloroquine use in Covid treatment was responsible for elevated mortality.

As for Andrew Wakefield, by reports he is now shacked up with the Australian supermodel Elle MacPherson.

This is what I mean about people being villainized for having a difference of opinion. This video is just short of 20 minutes long, but I think it is worth the watch and explains pretty much how I feel about being put into the same category as a murder.

Three engineers from my job were out sick with covid this past work week, none of those three were vaccinated and one of them I was working with the week before...I got tested yesterday because of concerns since the guy I was working with is now sick with Covid, I'll know the results in a couple days...I feel fine though, just ease of mind getting tested...

My oldest son had covid and was down for a week. His wife and 3 kids never got it. My wife and i had contact with them and we never got it. All of the adults involved took daily vitamins and D3 except for my son. I think the grandkids take vitamins but have not verified it.
A month has passed and every body is still here, none of us have had the shots.

I was standing in the checkout line at the grocery store yesterday on my way home from work and there was a guy in my line two people ahead of me talking to the person behind him...He was pulling down his mask to talk and proceeded to tell the flow behind him that right now he has a cold and has been sick for a few days...Immediately upon hearing this that guy got out of line and went to another one cussing at that guy for being in the store sick...The sick guy was trying to defend himself saying its only a cold...I got out of that line too and went across to another checkout as far from him as I could...Sorry but how are we supposed to know its just a cold or not, his word alone doesn't give enough credit, after all he's being fairly disrespectful and inconsiderate to everyone else...He shouldn't have been in that store sick and certainly not stand there and boast about it just being a cold, not during a pandemic...

yea i think i would have moved also. We dont have to wear mask here if vaxxed but the law says here you cant ask anyone without a mask if they have been vaxxed in the store. I wear one just in case a run into some one like you did.
I think my son picked up covid from a docter office visit a couple weeks before he came down with it. When he went back later after it came on it was confirmed he had covid. They didnt give him any thing.
Look at India who are now giving ivermectin and israel who are jaben every one. Its clear the shots are not working.
Israel has the highest hospital rates per population than any other country and they they are giving 3 shots and getting ready for number 4.

Two more people from work are out sick with Covid, that makes five people total since I started working at this company...

The company is requesting everyone to get tested within the next 24 hours...Mask mandates are already in place for anyone on the production floor who works within 6 feet of another individual and for everyone working in the office or if anyone enters the office...

The health department in the county I live has reported 350 active cases currently and 11 of those are hospitalized...Every time I drive by the county drive thru testing location there are no cars, no one being tested, even today I drove by there on my way home and no people in line to be tested...So I guess people in my area are going elsewhere for covid tests, I don't know...

There are a lot more people wearing masks in the shops, it's up to about 60 percent mask wearers, from my observations...I'm not wearing a mask everywhere I go, stores like Wal-Mart or Lowe's Home Improvement, yes, the BP gasoline station and store, no, the grocery store, not lately...

I'm more concerned about getting covid at work then at some shop, I spend 10 hours a day at work verses maybe 20 minutes max at any given time in a store...There's 75 people in three buildings at work and within those 10 hours on any given day I'm in contact with at least 50 of those people for more than a couple minutes...At a store I'm not talking to anyone except maybe a cashier at the check out, I just promptly get what I need and using the self check out when I can and get out promptly...

About 30 percent of the people at work are not vaccinated and many of those don't plan to, the company bosses are not going to mandate vaccinations for the employees...I'm fine with that, people didn't have to tell me if they were vaccinated or not, but it seems people have taken a stance similar to politics, and set on making their choice known...Most people at work have stated to me whether they were or were not vaccinated, I didn't bring the subject up not once...To me that's personal, I really don't care if I'm working with an unvaccinated person, I don't really want to know, people should keep that to themselves IMO...

However not as concerned as I was last year or even earlier this year...There is a certain ease of mind that comes with getting vaccinated during this pandemic...It is nice to be out working full time again, I don't care for the overtime which more is coming the rest of the week...I'm not used to being around so many people again and along with Covid in the back of my mind during the day, but especially during the morning hours when people are coming into those 3 buildings from god knows where and who they have been in contact with over the last 14 hours or so...Could be a super spreader event at work on any given day lol...Damn what a world we live in now...

Worked 13 hours yesterday, looking at 12 hours at least for today...Seven people from work now sick with covid...The overtime work is directly because of covid and those people being out sick...
