Hudson Valley UFO sightings

how it looked like? a huge ass boomerang shaped thing? or just like a bunch of lights in a string?

I used to work at a farm & garden center and after work one night a buddy and I were sitting on a truck next to a cornfield having a few beers. It was a bit overcast. I saw a formation of lights that were roughly triangular and I'm pretty sure the standard red green white lights were there but we just happen to look up and noticed it and it started the crap out of us to say the least. I suspect this was in the first summer it started - '83 or '84 - and I wasn't really aware that there had been reports. At that point I don't think there had been too many.

So, a formation of lights moving slowly overhead. It wasn't moving very fast and we had a chance to calm down after the initial shock and take a better look. The formation was excellent - those nitwits knew what they were doing - but not perfect. I could tell they were individual lights moving around slightly and not one big structure. Had it not been a sort of hazy overcast just after sunset we would have seen stars through it right away. So no, I did NOT see a Project UFO monstrosity and after a bit we could even hear the faint drone of engines - not a 'powerful hum.' Now crap, this was a lifetime ago but I remember talking with a state trooper within a few days of the event and he told me they knew exactly who they were, where they came from and it made perfect sense to me.

As for why this thing grew legs, I attribute it to what I call the Wallace Tillinghast Effect. Not exactly a scholarly reference but have a look: The Worcester Aeroplane Hoax

Also, you need a map and some understanding of the roads/interstates/geography around here. Please - if that sounds snarky I don't mean it to be. The Hudson River Valley is BIG. The further away from Dutchess County you get the more fanciful the reports get.

Not quite sure what you mean. You were here and witnessed something during that period?
You're asking questions like your the Men in Black because you answer questions with a question.

I'm also very curious why did your people bring up the Hudson Valley event what'so special now...Agent..Farmer

You don’t think retirees get benefits? I am tired of getting my chain yanked by them and would prefer to return to a more sedate lifestyle yet, as was the case in 1983, I happened to be the wrong guy in the wrong place at the wrong time. After that I was involved in something I wanted no part of. I still don’t and feel I have earned my peace but can’t scrape this s*** off my shoe. As for these posts, Jesus give me a break. I did what I was told and if you see them erased let me just say in advance I told you so. Maybe you too. It won’t matter in the end, trust me. Ha ha.

No doubt you’ve heard of the Phoenix Lights? You have no idea of the overtime we racked up on that one – paid off my mortgage. It was Phase II. The Hudson Valley Sighting were Phase I. That’s all I can relate about that – and if you think it’s for my sake you’re mistaken. We do what we are told when we have to. As for what went on in this ridiculous forum and why I am posting now, Phase III will reveal itself soon enough and when you see it in the news you will know exactly what I am talking about and the connection will be obvious to the blind. Were I to relate more there are factors you are unaware of that would be detrimental to all of us.

I must admit that being called an MIB gave me the first honest laugh I’ve had in a very, very long time. It actually hurt slightly. I related it to a fellow retiree – let’s just call him Agent JBA – and it had the same effect. That’s rich.

You’ve seen too many movies. In fact those dumbass things would never have been made if someone or should I say something wasn’t a Tommy Lee Jones fan. Who the hell would have seen that one coming? Here’s your Easter egg for tonight – “neuralizers” are quite real but are hardly something you can put in a coat pocket. A pair of sunglasses won’t do crap to help you. Takes more than two seconds and involves real work, and nobody just stands there and submits to it meekly. Non-lethal doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.

All things considered as a real live human involved in something I would rather not be I can tell you this with certainty; MY personal “neuralizer” is a relatively short range affair developed (really) in 1911 by “Agent” JMB. Go Google that.

Imbrogno lied about attending MIT and another university . He lied about his military service record. I doubt very few people care to sift through what is true or false with this guy. Hynek is dead, we can't ask him about the lying Imbrogno.
unless it is proved that he lied about anything in relation to the hudson valley sightings, this argument is null

LOL, the worcester airplane was something very very different, the cosmic trickster decided to play some jokes in new england
john keel devoted a entire chapter to this most amusing tale in operation trojan horse, suffice to say that it was a good read
anyway getting back on topic, your description is very different from the one of the witnesses involved, there seemed to be 2 different boomerangs overflying the hudson valley, the first one looked like a miles wide B2 with a bunch of piping and transparent lighted sections and huge searchlight, the other one was a smaller but still quite big boomerang shaped thing with a bunch of multicolored light panels in its underside, looking like a huge flying "circus"
it looks like you saw some sort of cover up to the main event

*facepalm*
someone here is a ufo newbie, the fictional MIBS have nothing to do with the real ones
the real ones have clearly in-human traces and a robotic personality, completely different from anything holywood has

Tell me about it! It was fine working for the Admiral, but after he bought the farm in that, er, bizarre accident, I had to raise hell each month just to get my salary. And the expense account! All the sudden the bean counters were all over my arse. Who needs that crap? Finally, I remembered I had a thing or two on that prick Hooper. Had to squeeze that for just about all it was worth, just to get back to where I got most of my reimbursements and didn't have to call the 800 number just to get paid. Anyhow, I'll be retiring soon.

Bet they have an easy time recruiting with us old hands talking about this stuff freely. That wasn't my idea either, but the marks are too smart. I had no idea when I chose this screen name years ago that half the population of the various forums would figure out I's a gummint agent. Yep, the game just ain't what it used to be.

I hear that. The accident? LOL. That's what they all said - not a word of truth in it. When I see you at the Christmas party I'll explain it. Bourbon - first one's on you.

I gotta hit the hay (really). Oh - and 'bug spray' is active. I say again 'bug spray' is active.

I have a lot of gifts no need to go to Google I jumped in your time frame between 23 and 30.

So tell me agent farmer, are you and...the others..are you like, looking for the remaining Witnesses, so you can..eh ,mm..erase them?

Greatest Secret ever told to an agent was copy written by immortallegend527.

It was a very large object. The structure of it was very dark gray, metallic, almost girder-type looking… The object seemed to be very silent. The lights were iridescent, bright, they stood out in the sky and three-dimension. It looked like a city of lights. It just hung in the sky, all brilliant colors… We followed the object around to the backyard. And at that point, a feeling of fright came upon me. Thoughts started to

Those three entities have the ability to open a portal.

The city of lights and all the colors that he described is actually another Galaxy. Stars planets the milkey way.

Dammit. Friggin' bug spray. Just what I wanted to hear. Just for that, the bourbon will be extra cheap. First round anyway.

Hi everyone. No I am not a troll, some sort or plant or an a**h**e-human hybrid, in case this is a factor. Real person. Real interest. Genuine question.

I really do live in the Hudson Valley and saw the very thing that created the fuss. True I am of a skeptical viewpoint but I would really like to find someone - anyone - out there who actually SAW the damned thing when it happened. Not a second hand account or any of that - actual witness. I'd kind of like to corroborate my own experience.
I haven't seen them myself. However, after reading & watching information/documentaries about it - I believe that it has a very terrestrial explanation. I lived in Bloomingburg, NY for a year (in 1995-1996). lived on a mountain in the middle of nowhere. I lived by Pine Bush, NY (about 9 miles away) where there were a lot of sightings. I always kept my eyes peeled but never saw anything. I personally think the Hudson Valley lights were airplanes. Just an opinion of course.

One of the best pieces of information I've ever seen that always keeps me skeptical (but yet still a believer) is the great Morristown, NJ UFO Hoax documentary. Where the likes of Bill Birnes and his crack squad of "UFO Hunters" got burned by the two college students who used balloons with flares on them to fool mostly everybody. I especially like when one of the main witnesses (a private pilot & his family) were on the local news explaining how the object "zoomed away at high speeds) - well of course, balloons cannot zoom away but in his mind, that's what happened. I also like when Bill was reviewing the video and said that he can make out how it is one solid object (between the 3 points of red light). Yeah, um....no Bill. It's not a solid object. Take your sunglasses off. Anyway, I highly recommend watching it. It's in several parts but I think each part is approx 15 mins or so. Very enlightening to see how eyewitnesses can botch details of what they have seen.

Here's another piece on the aftermath of the Morristown UFO hoax that I never saw until just now - for those who are interested;

That's amazing! Never heard of this before! I will admit to having the attention span of a gnat sometimes and have as yet only skimmed through them but was laughing when I saw 'veteran pilots' and 'the most credible witnesses' ever in the whole history of ever. Wallace Tillinghast would be laughing too if he were less dead. Don't want to open a can of worms but Lonnie Zamora's name came to mind right away, although that was a little different.

I do think that launching flares in a heavily wooded area is pretty stupid. I bet a few cheap LED strobes would have a similar effect, or even chemical glow sticks.

And I totally agree with what these two guys, Joe Rudy & Chris Russo say; it's not to embarrass or poke fun at anyone - but just to show how gullible people are and how your mind will interpret certain things differently then what is actually there. The one witness was a pilot; so what? I'm a pilot. I don't think I have any more cred then the guy who cooks my porkroll, egg & cheese sandwiches down the street. I get tired of the misnomer that military people & police are trained experts and if they say they saw something with some specific details - then god darnit - they saw it. Period. When that it totally not true. For instance, they can say "Jake Smith - who has served in the U.S. Navy for 7 years spotted 3 disc shaped objects flying at blah blah blah etc. etc. etc." When meanwhile, does anyone question what his rate (job) is in the Navy? I mean - he could be a MS (cook) or a YN (yeoman) or the guy that scrubs rust off the electrica contacts on cannon plugs, etc. You get the idea. People hear "military" and instantly think that the sighting is as good as God saying he saw it themselves. I served in the U.S. Navy so I know the wide range of jobs people have in the Navy. A lot of times in reports - that part of it is left out which to me, may impact the way I interpret their report.

Well it fooled a pilot with "20 years of aviation industry background" his wife, & kids along with other people in the community. Not to mention Bill Birnes and his crack squad of UFO Hunters.....burned.
