Florence could reach a Cat 5. That's not farfetched because it jumped from a Cat 1 to 4 in one day.

I have a problem with that list, the second list, the food and water for your pet should be on the top list, people should not leave their pets behind and make sure they also have food and water, they are not disposable...I always consider my dog in my plans and preparations of any sort...I've seen abandoned pets before during other major storms, people need to prepare and plan for their pets...

The most recent projected track has the storm staying in NC after landfall but that is subject to change.

I went to town this morning to get gasoline, the only gas available at the two places I stopped was regular 87, I cannot put that in my car, I need 93 octane...I had to put in 5 dollars worth for now, after work I will have to drive around to find 93 octane gas...ugh

I'm more worried now about getting gasoline right now than dealing with the hurricane lol, I have all the supplies I need except gasoline for my car, didn't think about it a few days ago, I think I will take a trip out at lunchtime today and see if I can get some fuel and fill my tank...Damn thing is still heading straight for me...

At least you seem to have your bourbon supply squared away. Priorities!

I keep fuel available, usually the 6 gallons in the generator plus at least two 5 gallon jerry cans. Around here Harbor Freight with their coupons and Tractor Supply were the least expensive cans I could find. The pervasive and unavoidable E10 doesn't store as well so I rotate it every 6 months or so into my vehicles. Don't care for additives but Seafoam @ 1/2 can per 5 gallons came extremely well recommended from fleet usage and really does seem to help. No burps, pops, farts or any of that after storage and having pulled a couple of carbs apart no crud inside at all. FWIW - maybe for next time.

But I hope we don't come across as " ambulance chasers"...or whatever term you'd give it. As well meaning as it is , the last thing somebody likes to see is grandiose stories of what could happen.

They're estimating up to four feet or 48 inches of rain for parts of the Carolinas and Georgia. The hurricane could cause $170 billion in damage.
