Bloody Kashmir: Decades of deadly conflict between India and Pakistan
The Kashmir conflict is one of the oldest between India and Pakistan. The two nuclear nations fought three major wars and numerous smaller skirmishes since Britain withdrew from its former colony.

Tuesday’s flare-up over an Indian cross-border air raid targeting a militant group in Pakistani territory is the latest in a long list of conflicts which the two nations have fought since 1947.

Kashmir, the Muslim-majority area in the north, is the focus of the hostility, rooted in the way the British empire partitioned its former colony.

At one time they were all one nation, one people, until Islam came along and divided them and made them hate one another...

A world without WW2 would have prolonged British Indo rule.

Anglo Indian relationships and the East India company were going along very well but the financial stresses of Hitler's vision put on us saw us pull out and it began.

But India is such a peaceful place. I couldn't have seen them in a conflict in a million years :(

India was/is fighting India and will for around another five hundred years.

Britain had to separate the Hindu from the Muslim as they were slaying each other as one people, thus forming Hindu India and Muslim Pakistan. A divide enforced for their own good.

We used to fight just like this, in the name of faith. We are the peaceful ones so don't listen to the weak who state we are wicked while living the good life.

Do not believe Pakistan media. They are peddling FAKE NEWS of IAF jet crash

The picture in fact is of a 2018 IAF hawk trainer crash in Odisha! The other "proof" Pakistan media is peddling is of a 2016 video of a MiG fighter crash in Rajasthan.

An obvious enflaming of the situation was during the passage of separation. A religious journey that saw rape, murder and pillage. Things not to be forgotten.

I prefer Indian to Pakistani as the natural sense would indicate the Muslim as the pusher of faith over the Hindu.

There was no choice but to separate the two after WW2 because of the bloodshed and conflict as Islam permeated the Pakistani part of the original country...

This is so yes and the Middle age invasion of India by the Muslim surely ignited the touch paper. Much like our crusades have.

The hot point is obviously Kashmir which both have a claim to, it would have seemed this should have been resolved many years ago when the deal was struck to divide the country into what we have today...

The instrument of accession ensures the dominion of Kashmir to India once the soil is clear of the invader.

Maharaja the princely ruler of Kashmir and the Indian governer general ( Lord Mountbatten ) had agreed this.

Fascinates me to see the time difference between ourselves as moderate in religious terms and those closer in time somehow to their faith. Claiming we have become distracted by temptation and as lacking in loyalty. We used to be governed by our church and fear our God with the same lust we see there today. So time is different in the same moment when spread across cultures and set to meet further down the road for certain. So many aspects of the European middle ages are reflected in the modern day Middle East which for me is conformation that time is the real and false key to our fears.

The most advanced culture here is, luckily enough a good one that sees humanity as our and their way forward and it is happening behind the scenes of resistance. The resistance is only about how things are being gone about.

Good, bad and the ugly.

I am not convinced that nuke war is as bad as they say it could be.
the skies on the other side of the planet will be clear enough to grow corps in a year.
there will be no blotting out of the sun for 5 to 10 years like they use to keep saying.
