Is this happening to America right now ?

From 'Academy of ideas'.

'The manufacturing of a mass psychosis - Can sanity return to an insane World ?'

This is on YouTube, but I am using gogoduck and don't seem able to provide the link. Perhaps someone else can do it ?

It's worth the watch.

Yes, thanks.

Have you watched it ? If so, what do you think ?
No, I haven't watched it yet, I read some of the text below the movie. I think it is going on and has been, not just in the U.S. but all the UK colony countries and the UK.

It's possible we are seeing the early stages of a mass psychosis in the United States, quite a bit of what's been transpiring in the country sure fits the profile...This pandemic seems to have sped up what was already simmering and now to a boil, and I think the pandemic has been and is currently being used as a tool to pile on more fear for further manipulation of the masses...

early stages of a mass psychosis

I think it's the immediacy of communication and we have yet to figure it all out. Didn't count on the whopping social impact. Communications and media were always a political tool but in this form frightfully weaponized and more dangerous than ever.

An analogy relevant today in case anyone remembers - we've had explosives a long time and took delight in using them on one another. Then a new thing came along that changed the rules.

I don't think there is any manipulation or conspiracy going on with the pandemic...not in the way some who are into that type of mindset think. People are uneducated, naive, panicky, biased, and silly. Just about anything can and will set them off. I do think the media and others have overreacted to some degree but many have died and more will die so it's not to be taken lightly. I agree with pigfarmer in that the media and social outlets have fanned the flames of all of this and it sells airtime also.
Regarding 'mass psychosis' in general ...yes that's been going on in a large group of people since you know who lost the election and now it's spread into and connected to the covid pandemic.
(btw..the article brought up politics , govt, and 'ruling elite'.... )

I think it was going on before that. The people who wanted Hilary Clinton as president were just as rabid and she is no better a leader than Trump. The difference between them was who supported them and that Hilary was born into politics and Trump was born to be a con man.

It's not about psychosis at all. It's about anger. It's about a very deep-seated dangerous anger that many Americans are experiencing now, whether they want to admit it or not. And it has nothing to do with the election, climate change, covid-19, the media, or even race.

I'm going to state my theory about why America is in a mess, a theory which I've alluded to several times over the years. I know that Nivek and Pigfarmer may possibly be the only ones who will agree with me. Everyone else will most likely strongly disagree with me.

America (and much of the western world) is messed up right now because people are so FREAKIN' FAT. The latest study reveals that 42% of adults in the US are dangerously obese. Most experts believe that by 2030, or probably even sooner, the majority of adults in this country will be obese. Obesity dramatically compromises our quality of life in an endless number of ways. It's already beginning to overwhelm our health care system.

Though we are constantly told we must have an "honest conversation" about things like race, it is unthinkable for someone to consider addressing the obesity epidemic.:sad2::shocked:We must continue to keep sweeping it under the rug and pretend it doesn't exist.

It's a ticking time bomb.

Well..I will agree on Trump being born to be a con man....(actually from what I have read in the past his dad was largely responsible for his lack of ethics and morals.)

Bill Maher might agree with you in some ways....he has long talked about proper eating and health habits and obesity.
Obesity is an issue but in all honesty I honestly don't see how that is the cause of anger, psychosis, and anxiety in America.....there are so many reasons people get that way...but it is a cause of many secondary health issues like heart disease and diabetes.
Just curous but are there any studies on this 'obesity fuled anger' by the AMA or others?

I think you need to define what you consider "obese" because I am considered obese by doctors who want to make me take drugs I don't need. I am healthy, 65 and not on any medication except and occasional asprin or acetominphin and over the counter allergy medicine. Yes I am 50 pound heavier than I was when I was 18, and I haven't run very far in a long time. My life is somewhat sedentary but I make sure I get up and move, take walks, dig in the garden carry heavy things myself etc. I am not obese, except on someone's out dated chart. I know a lot of thin women my age who are physically a mess, weak and unable to walk two blocks so health is not tied to weight.

I think instead of obesity, a sedentary lifestyle is one that should be the cause you are claiming. Being sedentary does cause illness and weakness, brain fog, depression etc.

The difference between Clinton (H) and Trump is that she immediately conceded defeat.

The psychosis that Trump has created is very dangerous. He has created a mindset that will prevent the country ever having a straightforward election in the future. He is undermining the government.

Hitler and Mussolini would have been impressed.

The brouhaha over the pandemic really doesn't have much to contribute . But it is telling that many (most) of the people who will not get inoculated or are refusing to wear masks are Republicans who seem to be following Trump's message of 'if it comes from the Democrats, it's a ploy to control you'.

If he was an 'ordinary citizen', he would be in a secure home by now for his delusional acts.

Less than a 20 percent of the black population in the US has been vaccinated who are mostly liberal voters and less than 20 percent of the hispanic/latino population in the US have been vaccinated, the elephant in the room facts that everyone seems to sidestep but are quick to point fingers towards other (political/religious) groups to blame to continue to make this a political issue when it's not...

In my opinion, the fact that it was so easy for him to do that is a sign that there has already been a problem and someone mentioned the seething anger that a lot of U.S. Americans have, that is now coming to a head with very little prompting. I think it would have come to this no matter who won the presidency. Neither candidate was trust worthy, and it was obvious, and the third choice, the only one that was available in all 50 states was not making any effort, so she was just a place holder, a disappointment for those of us who feel that the only fix is to break the stranglehold the parties have on our election system.

Possibly I should have said white only as my criteria.

Why do you think the other ethnic groupings have fallen so far behind ?

Maybe you don't know this, but there are a lot of non-white republicans and now the virus, the vaccine and other health issues, as well as what skin color people have has become political issues! That is how we are being manipulated, make everything about politics and make sure everyone thinks they have to choose one of two bad choices. Cognitive dissonance causes a lot of psychosis.

P.S. I forgot to mention climate change in my list of things that should not be, but have been made into political issues.

I agree about the obesity but am not sure if it's the source of the anger

I look at political parties of all stripe about the same and my response to finger pointing is more finger pointing but I use one specific political finger to do it with

.... to indicate my interest in a more centered position of course ........ :)

The anger is coming from a lack of real leadership going back some time now
