Jupiter is really spectacular in the night sky right now

Fratty and out of touch.
If you have a telescope, you owe it to yourself to go outside and see Jupiter. I have never seen it so sharp and brilliant. My significant other gave me a new telescope for Christmas and today I finally figured out how to get the darn thing to work. It turns out the 10 mm eyepiece is actually larger than the 20 mm eyepiece. I know that for viewing planets and the moon, it's always much easier to use the lower power lenses but I did not figure out until today that I had them mixed up. Even though I live in a city and it's kind of hazy out, I was able to see some of the bands on Jupiter and 3 of its moons lined up like little dots.

My favorite object for viewing is Saturn. With its huge rings, it's just a really bizarre thing to see. The mountains on the moon are also pretty stunning.

I'm not sure how much longer Jupiter will be in such a prime viewing position.

As Above So Below
I suspected the other bright shiny object in the sky lately may have been another planet...I've been seeing Venus rise in the sky before midnight along with another bright object that was slight ahead...I'm seeing its brightness with the naked eye, its not as bright and big as Venus but its very noticeable...
