I just heard on the news that the deceased shooter was a white male in 20's wearing full gear. It's unclear if he shot himself after a short foot chase or if the police shot him.
'27 killed' at Texas church after gunman opens fire | Daily Mail Online
  • At least 27 people were shot dead by unidentified gunman and at least 24 others are being treated for injuries
  • Police said the gunman walked into the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs in Texas and opened fire
  • One witness told authorities that among those who were shot in the attack was a two-year-old child
  • The church pastor Frank Pomeroy said his 'beautiful' daughter Annabelle, 14, was killed in the shooting
  • Another witness said the man, who isn't from the Sutherland Springs community, was dressed 'in full gear'
  • The University Health System said their trauma team is caring for nine patients 'four children and five adults'
  • Police confirmed that the gunman is dead, but it's unclear if police took him down or if he took his own life

He was an air force veteran who was dishonorably discharged. Fuck him. Hope he rots in the deepest pits of hell.

As Above So Below
Just because he was dishonorablly discharged doesn't mean he was destined to be a killer or criminal, there could have been many reasons for that discharge...I know someone who was blamed for damaging some machinery by making the wrong setting changes and he got a dishonorable discharge and bring time but he didn't do it and couldn't prove it, it happened on his watch though...

Yes I understand that. But as you said, his watch, his responsibility. If its on my watch and one of my men die, its my responsibility. That is how the military works as I'm sure you are well and aware.

You can bet with this POS his dishonorable discharge wasn't for something stupid. He has obviously been mentally disturbed for a good deal of time to kill that many people, and probably has something to do with his discharge. We will probably never know why he was discharged but as I said, fuck him.

Perfect for game hunters, Bolt action, scoped. You can hunt Deer, shoot vermin, target practice.

They say the gunman was using a Ruger semi Auto military style gun. Perhaps similar to this one.
Time will tell. Now lets see what would we use a Semi Automatic Military Tactical rifle for???
Ill have to think about that. No wait, I know. Shooting lots of people in a small amount of time.

For those folks unfamiliar with Guns.

Tell me again NRA folks why the average US citizen needs access to this type of Military grade rifle.
No, explain it to the families of the 26 people murdered today.
Shame NRA member, you might as well have pulled the trigger yourselves by allowing these ridiculous weopns in the hands of anyone other than your Military folks.

I have grown up around guns, as a hunter in earlier years, and most of my family has owned rifles. Never have I seen a hunting situation that would require a Military style semi Auto.

My heart goes out to the victims and families of those poor folks gunned down in church today.
What a horrible thing. The world is thinking of you.

*Dishonourably discharged means that the gun was likely purchased illegal, or was illegal for him to own. Therefore any "gun control" debates this event would have triggered will be pointless.

*Also he's a member of that Antifa domestic terrorist group going around these days. He probably assumed all Christian's are Trump supporters or some shit, because if you support Trump - Antifa wants to kill you.

Um mm, Had I have posted the full page you would have seen there was a purchase by Paypal. Show me as a ex hunter, show me why you or any private citizen needs in any state in the USA requires a militarily style weapon for hunting or self defense and I will wear a dress for a week.
Explain to me why the two top options will not provide a fantastic hunting rifle solution and a perfect side drawer home defense weapon. I don't care what you say. No private citizens need military weapons.
And EVERY supporter of such nonsense helped to pull the trigger on those poor innocent people.
Whats it going to take for you people to see what others see so clearly. Shame Shame Shame on you all.

Of course the 'liberals' are in heat - I think they experience orgasms when a mass killing with guns happens.

But before there heat leads to an anti-gun orgy - let me dampen their frenzy:

"13 Mass Killings Where No Guns Were Involved"

1. Knives - 31 dead

On March 1, 2014, several men armed with long knives converged on a train station in Kunming, China, and stabbed 31 people to death while injuring hundreds more. Police attributed the attack to Uighur separatist forces from Xinjiang province.

2. Machetes - 500 dead

In one of the bloodiest massacres in Nigerian history, more than 500 Christians were butchered near the city of Jos by machete-wielding Muslims in March of 2010. The attack, which didn't spare toddlers or infants, was reportedly in reprisal for Christian attacks on Muslims two months earlier.

4. Passenger airliners - 2,996 dead

Osama bin Laden ultimately claimed responsibility for the hijacking of four passenger airliners by 19 terrorists that cost nearly 3,000 lives and injured another 6,000 on September 11, 2001. Two planes struck the two 110- story World Trade Center towers, a third hit the Pentagon, and the fourth was downed in a Pennsylvania field before it could reach its intended target in Washington, D.C., when passengers aboard the plane attacked the hijackers.

6. Poisoned grape drink - 912 dead

Before the 9/11 attacks, the deadliest single non-natural disaster in American history occurred on November 18, 1978, in Guyana.

That's when Peoples Temple cult leader Jim Jones ordered 912 (mostly American) men, women, and children to drink Grape Flavor-Aid laced with cyanide and Valium.

7. A pipe bomb - 22 dead

Though pipe bombs failed to detonate in the San Bernardino incident, one such device did explode at a Hindu shrine in Bangkok, Thailand, in August. A total of 22 people were killed.

A man taken into custody 12 days after the blast eventually confessed to the crime, which was apparently in retaliation for a government crackdown on human trafficking gangs.

9. A truck bomb - 168 dead

Timothy McVeigh used fuel oil and fertilizer to build the Ryder truck bomb that exploded in front of a federal building in Oklahoma City in April of 1995.

A total of 168 people perished in what was then the deadliest terror attack on American soil.

10. Dynamite - 45 dead

The Sandy Hook massacre was not the largest mass murder at an American school. That occurred way back on May 18, 1927, at the Bath Consolidated School in Michigan.

The school's caretaker was apparently angry about property taxes; so he placed dynamite at numerous spots around the school over a period of months and then set a timer for the explosion to occur during classes. A total of 45 people died that day in Bath Township.

11. Gasoline and two matches - 87 dead

That was all Julio Gonzalez (pictured above) needed to set the Happy Land social club in Brooklyn on fire in March of 1990. After starting the fire near the entrance, he pulled down the metal gate and left 87 people inside to burn or suffocate to death within minutes.

The reason? Gonzalez had gotten into a heated argument earlier that evening with his girlfriend, who was checking coats inside the club.

12. Gasoline and a lighter - 133 dead

On February 18, 2003, a 56-year-old unemployed taxi driver boarded a subway train in Daegu, South Korea, with the intention of killing himself.

But when he emptied two cartons of gasoline and dropped his lighter, the fire spread quicklythroughout the train and onto a neighboring train. The death toll of 133.......

See whole article here:
13 Mass Killings Where No Guns Were Involved

So gun control advocates, be you American, Aussie, North Korean, or wherever

- Explain to us what you are going to do with unregulated gasoline {petrol} sales?

Easy to obtain and requiring no licensing or registraion - Gasoline makes an ideal alternative to a denial of guns - And when your proverbial 'nut' begins to think about he sees that indeed he can kill more with petrol than a gun

But like I say, as long as you allow the unlicensed ownership of
metal steak knives, you are not safe - In an instant that person you are
eating with is liable to turn cannibal and........need I say more?

Insist on outlawing metal knives - Only plastic for the sheeple!

All valid points that I wont try to dispute.
However there are a great many shootings with Military style weapons.
So tell me if you can,
As a hunter, and or, for home protection. Why does any US citizen NEED an assault rifle?
I am not asking about your rights, or likes, I am asking NEED

Some years ago when the Democrats controlled congress and the Presidency they passed a so-called
'assault rifle' ban - Fact is it wasn't actually a ban - They simple bared the importation and manufacture
of so called 'assault rifles' - They defined an assault rifle as any gun that could fire more than 10 rounds.

And what did this do? - It created a frenzy of people buying these guns {there are probably many thousands
in the US} - And the fact is every time US gun owners feel threatened by restrictive gun legislation gun sales
sky-rocket.

Do people really need multiple round guns - The mentality here, like it or not, is many gun owners think
they do - I actually went out and bought one - when if that law was never passed, never would have.
Eventually realizing if I really did not need it sold it - but that is just me - Others have a different mind set.

Personally I like non-lethal self defense weapons - strong pepper gas, tasers, etc. - And could see a day
in the future where weapons like the 'phasers' like in Star Trek {phasers on stun} could be perfected so
lethal weapons would not be necessary for self-protection, home defense, etc.
But we are not there yet - And I would still allow lethal weapons, including so-called 'assault rifles' to be owned as 'collectors items, even it was required that they be kept locked up.

Remember the essence of the Second Amendment and the so-called 'well armed militia' is that the
citizenry is the militia - :"Ths right of the people to bear arms........"

To this day many people are more afraid of gun bans and gun grabbers than they are of the few lunatics
who are going to misuse them. - And every attempt by liberal gun control advocates backfires and sells
more guns than ever.

Maybe you should leave at that for now - Australian style gun control and advocacy will not fly in the
US - And Republicans play off on this fear of gun control and often win elections they otherwise would
not win because many people mistrust the false sense of security that gun control advocates would have
you believe is attainable - The genocides of history I mentioned in the other post were all preceded by
'gun control' to make the people 'safe' - That is what makes gun control more dangerous
than some of the lunatics we have that misuse guns.

Thank you for the polite and considered reply.
My opinion is pretty simple.
I am a Petrol head, I love to drive fast, I have raced speedway, and made it to state level as a viable competitor, but quit due to marriage.
Does my love of speed and driving fast give me the right to drive fast on our roads? NO.
I am no world class driver, but, with my experience, racing background, I am probably better than the average bloke. Does that give me the right to drive fast? NO.

It just seems so obvious to some of us, that even if you have 1 million people with one nutter.
Lots of people can die at his hand with a Military style Rifle.

Laws logically have to be made for the better good of all.
Not for what we like, (as in my driving example).

If, ignoring all your 2nd amendment arguments, all the personal rights arguments.
If someone in your government just made the decision, absolutely NO ONE can have an assault rifle, or semi auto or whatever. It would probably take decades to enforce, many gun amnesty for those willing to comply, many arrests and raids for those that wont comply. All manner of havoc, civil disobedience, political unrest etc etc.
But jump forward 20 years.
If the only people with semi Autos were criminals (who will always have them) , or enthusiast with them hidden under a floor board. Eventually, Like Australia, they will be weeded out.
I am making up numbers here now to try end express my point.
If you have 100,000 military style guns legally owned, or easily obtained. Logic say sooner or later some idiot is going to do bad.
But if you spend 20 years sifting out all or at least most of the assault rifles.
20 years from today, your next mass shooting might have been with a 5 shot bolt action and that brave bloke who shot him might have nailed him with a lesser death toll.
It just seems so obvious to me.
I am not saying don't get rid of your guns, just the type of guns.
Like I said, I am a bit of a pacifist now, but I grew up as a hunter.
You cant tell me that an unscoped AR15 or any other assault rifle is a better choice to bag a deer at 300 meters is better than a 3006 with a good scope.
I know you know that. And honesty, for home defense, if you get an intruder at 3:00 am inyour house, are you really going to cut loose with a semi auto Military weapon in your living room?
Your more likely to kill your dog, and half the neighborhood.
Wouldn't a pistol suffice?
I just can't see how you can't make this connection.

Well at least 50% of your post isn't horse shit.

Prove this dude was antifa. So far as I can see that narrative is being pushed by idiots like Alex Jones and Mike Cernovich. Who in my opinion want to deflect from the fact that another deadly attack has been carried out by a non Muslim.

I see no proof of this guy being affiliated with any group. If he was, wouldn't that group claim responsibility? That's the hallmark of terrorism. Commit heinous act, claim responsibility, promise more to come, allow fear to consume population.

He just seems like another sicko to me.

Kchoo

At Peace.
Gun control is not going to stop a criminal from having a gun.

Death should be immediate for anyone using a gun to harm civilians.

Sickos often intend to die, but they want to take out others first, which makes no sense. But if it isnt a gun, its a car, or somethibg else.

One thing which it seems no one pays attention to is how much of our entertainment is based on violence. Look at how many prime time shows are essentially based on people hurting and killing each other. Sure, the good guys win most of the time but usually after mowing down the bad guys. I think that the net effect is to acclimate us to violence becoming a very normal thing, with no lasting consequences after the closing credits roll. Among those who are evil and/or sick, violence is presented in a very attractive way as a means to effect a measure of revenge on the rest of humanity.
