Maybe the strangest case we've ever worked: 14-027

It's not really a UFO case. In 2001, strange, identical looking men in military uniforms were seen by two witnesses at a California gas station near the Mexican border south of the Salton Sea. The witnesses followed their vehicle for a short way until the vehicle went off the main highway and seemed to simply vanish. One of the two witnesses was a previous UFO experiencer.

It's all written down in the redacted case report.

You can listen to the witnesses in their own words here: Episode 3 – High Strangeness in the California Desert

Since 2014, we've been hoping someone would come forward with corroboration, or at least a similar story. I haven't heard a peep. Any leads would be appreciated.

If the witnesses could give the exact location the truck went off the road, it would be interesting to put a networked video camera there and see if other people are driving to oblivion.

I think we know fairly closely where that was, based on Marsha's interview with the witnesses (I have the unedited audio, but it has not been redacted of personal information), and the lack of any other hill off to the right of the road. Just West of Ocotillo, CA. There is a wind farm there now, and I presume the buildings and substation we see in Google Earth are related to the wind farm.

Right around: 32.729975° -116.046216°

The witness described this as a "mountain", and since he grew up in Colorado, you'd think he'd know a mountain from a hill, but memory is like that sometimes. There are more like mountains on the south of I8, but no road running parallel.

Here's a topo map of the area. The hill in question is called "sugarloaf mountain" near the top center.
