When I lived in southern New Mexico near White Sands testing range and missle base I hung out at a metaphysical book store and one day one of the people there said "The space brothers have been giving me light shows." I asked what she meant and she described "ships" doing formations in the sky. I asked where she saw them and she offered to take me the next night. It was early fall so dark came about 8 pm. We sat behind the university facing the direction that White Sands missle base was (less than 100 miles away) and watched the sky. Soon she said "That star looks like it's going to move" so we all looked at the start and it zipped across the sky, then was joined by 2 other "stars" and they did triangular formations around the sky. At one point they stopped and it looked like they were shooting light beams at each other. It was quite amazing. When they all zipped off in different directions we knew the show was over. It lasted about 10 minutes. I remember my daughter said "Thank you!" to the sky. (she said thank you for every thing - here to teach us all about grattitude, I think).
After that I watched the sky every night and often saw a show like that. About a month later I was planning on going to a meditation at the bookshop but my younger daughter, who never slept, fell asleep in her dinner. I was worried she was sick but she did not have a fever. I had her in bed by 7 pm and the older daughter said she was tired and went to sleep as well. I cleaned up the kitchen and it wasn't 8 yet so I was happy to have some time to read. I decided to read in bed since I expected to be reading for quite a while and it was a Wednesday, meaning work for me and school for the girls. My house was part of a new fourplex and the other 3 units were empty. Ours was on the back of the complex, with a dirt road beyond the back fence, an irrigation ditch and then 5 acres of orchard. Then some bare land and the freeway about 1/2 mile away. I kept the blinds on my bedroom window up so I could look at the stars at night.
I read for a short time and suddenly got very sleepy so I turned out the light and fell asleep. Suddenly I was awakened by a bright light in my room and my first thought was that I had over slept and it must be 10 am. I jumped out of bed and realized it was dark. I then thought someone must have shone a flashlight in the window, maybe checking to see if all the townhouses were empty. But the dog was asleep in the back yard (barely a yard, maybe 6 ft X 20). So then I thought it must be a car going towards the field where the horses were at the end of the dirt road. I did have an impression of the light moving in that direction but I don't know why. I could see no car anywhere, nothing out of the ordinary so I decided I would go back to sleep. I looked out the window at the moon, it was about 1/4 crescent and it had a star in the middle of the blank space. I stared at that for a moment and then the star moved. So I sat up and watched. It was joined by 2 more stars, then 3 more, the 3 more so that there were 9. They did different geometric shapes in formation and zipped around the sky together for a few minutes. Then they all zipped off except one, which came very close. It got so big that it was a ball hovering over the field and it was no longer lit like a star. It may not have been a ball but it gave that impression because the light strobed around the center changing colors, yellow, red, blue over and over for a bit. Then it was like a switch turned it all off for a heart beat, a beam of light came down from the center and the rest was black, not just dark, no light. The beam was white with a golden helix one strand going down, the other going up. It shut off and came back on so that it happened 3 times. 3 seemed to be the main message of every sighting. The third time the beam shut off the orb or sphere or what ever lit up and zipped off so fast it looked like a star again then was gone.
My nose was pressed against the glass of the window. I had no idea what it was about and I thought I might not sleep the rest of the night. It was only 9 PM. Maybe it was a dream, but there were nose prints and finger prints where I had been pressing against the window. I did go back to sleep and in the morning felt better than I had in a long time.
The main reason my first thought had been that I over slept was that when the light woke me I felt like I had had a full nights rest, which was rare for me at that time.
When I lived in Addison, TX I had a dog and I would walk him about 9 pm before bed. In January it is dark at that time. I always look at the stars (what few are visible in an urban area) and one night I saw a huge shadow speed across the sky. It disappeared, then quickly came back the other direction on the same path. It was so strange, I felt like I was standing at the bottom of the ocean looking up at a huge ship passing over. It was above 5000 feet because I also could see the planes flying over, the ones that were not landing at DFW or Love Field. And there were a few that were about 1000 to 300 feet, those that were landing or had just taken off. For some reason I thought of an aircraft carrier.
That same month a woman at work told me she had a strange experience. She lived in Kaufman, Tx and drove about 55 miles one way to work and she had a large property with cattle. She said she came home from work about 7 and had to fill the water tank. She was standing holding the hose in the tank wishing she had brought a flashlight so that she could see when it was full. Just then a huge beam of light lit up her yard just over the tank and she could see it was full. She looked up but could only see the light. She said "Thank you!" and the light went out. She turned the hose off and tried to see if there was something in the sky. There was no sound of any kind of equipment, no helicopter or plane sound and no sound of anything moving. And that was a year before the event in Stephenville, TX.
