Naked Black holes. Hear me out, It's not as pornographic as it sounds.

Truthiness
When most people Think of Black holes, The first thing that comes to mind is some planet-sized spheroid with inescapable gravity, But to be more precise The Blackhole is what forms around a Singularity, A singularity is a tiny point in spacetime with infinite density and zero volume, Ever since Black holes became a popular topic in physics, Lets say the last fifty years or so, Physicists have been debating a theoretical concept that is neither Black Nor a hole, A "Naked Blackhole" Or in other words, A singularity that does not possess the normal Blackhole that surrounds it. No Event horizon, No Blackhole, Just A singularity,

See when a star reaches the end, its gravity implodes in on itself, If the star is massive enough, Nothing can prevent this implosion from creating a singularity, All the matter collapses into a single point in space, Called a singularity, Which sports A nifty Zero Volume and infinite density.

See, It's a catch 22 about Black holes, A singularity isn't the same thing as A black hole, But, It is what causes a black hole to form. The classical Term, Blackhole refers to everything inside the event horizon, The Event horizon is the point where the gravity become so strong that even light cannot escape it's pull, "hence why it's black, No light will reflect off it, So it can not be seen with the naked eye" Because of this, It's impossible to see anything inside a black hole, From the outside. So if you were to ever slip past the event horizon to catch a glimpse of what's going on in there, You would never get out again, Not to mention, The gravitational pull is so strong it's pulling in light, So, you would be a ten thousand miles long thin strands of spaghetti. "Though you would have the distinct honor of being the first person to ever leave the mortal coil Via black hole. "So, You know,

YAY!!!!!

This is the part where Roger Penrose comes in.

Here Penrose demonstrates how he choreographed the Thriller Dance and then Follows up by stating that Billi Gene was also, Not his lover. Poor Billi Gene.. She could never get any play...

Penrose Was A genius Astrophysicist who In 1965 demonstrated, That All Black holes Must possess Singularities within them. However, Penrose could not prove that all singularities needed to have a Point of no return event horizon and thusly a black hole surrounding them. In ultimacy, HE couldn't prove that it was impossible for a singularity to be Naked. Or lack the surrounding black hole. To the Mans credit, He wanted to Disprove Naked Black holes, He was All but certain that a Naked Blackhole could not exist, But He could not prove that mathematically. After four long years of trying to solve the issue with very little success, He coined a new theory, The Conjecture of cosmic censorship. Which at its corse asserts that a Singularity simply can not exist without a black hole surrounding it. That's Right, The porn title was all a rouse, This is a thread about cosmic censorship lol.

Again though, He could not prove this conjecture, But, It's really hard to imagine an infinitely dense point without a crazy lot of gravity surrounding it. So, What Makes Penrose Such a Genius if He's two for two and never managed to prove his crowning achievements? Till this Day, Penrose is an almost Holy figure withing the realm of astrophysics, And Many, If not most, Still Subscribe to His Cosmic censorship conjecture. With that said, Not all of them do subscribe to Penrose's work, While we have never observed a Naked singularity, It doesn't mean that it's impossible for them to exist. In fact, Naked singularity are somewhat the Hot if not lukewarm topic within astrophysics. In the early 1990s, Stephen Hawking Posed a wager with Caltech's Kip Thorne and John Preskill

Hawking and Thorne, I'll let you figure out which is which.

Hawking was Certain That Naked Singularities simply could not exist, The loser was to Cover then winner with clothing to "Cover their nakedness" Oddly enough, Months later, hawking himself discovered mathmatical evidence "Though Not proof" That when a black hole finishes evaporating, It might leave behind a naked singularity. If A black hole evaporating, Sounds a little sketchy, That's an entirely Quantum mechanical idea, That States, That a pair of particles, can pop into existence with either of them being on the other side of the event horizon, So, Not evaporation in the traditional method, But evaporation none the less, It's been a while since I got all sciencey and I could literally go on forever with this, But, It's got to end at some point, I feel Here is a good place.

To anyone that reads this, I thank you, To those that made it this far, What are your thoughts? Could such a thing as a naked singularity exist?

As Above So Below
A black hole evaporating?...

A black hole isn't a hole though the usage has become main stream and synonymous with the event...Maybe it should be called a black ball lol...

So true, Plus the whole evaporation event, Isn't truly evaporation, It's kind of like a loss of particles over time due to paired particles somehow popping into existence beyond the event horizon, I agree it does sound a little sketch, :p I'm still on the fence with the whole particles popping in and out of existence thing. IT's a quantum mechanical idea, But It's the out of existence thing that bothers me. There has to be "an existence " of some sort. I am not prone to believe in nonexistence, There has to be some kind of mechanic about particles that physicists just don't understand yet, I think. :)
