    Wow, there's over 50,000 images in the link. It's amazingly colorful as opposed to the red planet pictures we've seen for decades.

    It most likely depends on the type of filter that is used. From what I've seen is that the close up images from the martian surface indicate that the sand and native bed rock are all very shapes of brown. My guess is that the martian sand is somewhere between moderate to dark yellowish brown in color. Its main source of transport and deposition is by the surface winds.
