Nazca Lines

Researchers believe the lines could be part of fertility rituals revolving around the availability of water and others think they could be runways for ancient craft.
Ancient Runways and Flying Fish: Did the Nazca Culture Take Flight?
The Nazca lines are still mysterious even after decades of being carefully studied. Archaeologists believe they know how they were made, but why they were made remains uncertain. Recently, researchers have suggested that the lines were related to fertility rituals involving the availability of water, but there are some people who still see something different in lines that are very long and straight. Some alternative thinkers argue that the straighter lines represent runways for ancient airports. Although it is possible that this is the case, the evidence found to support this position is insufficient so far.

Were the Nazca Lines Airports for Ancient Aliens?
The Nazca designs consist of a variety of figures. Some are recognizable as animals, such as spiders and monkeys, while others are more abstract. There is also a subset of figures that consist simply of straight lines. Some of them are built at the tops of hills and appear to stop at the edges of cliffs. Unlike the other designs that are clearly figural, these resemble runways in their length and straightness. This has led some fringe theorists to suggest that these lines were ancient air strips or airports. Some people even suggest that the lines made on hills were specifically created for launching gliders.

The new theory about them being some type of religious site makes quite a bit of sense....as fertility is a very important ritual to many ancient cultures.

A new Nazca geoglyph of an Orca has been discovered.
New Nazca Discovery Depicts An Orca Whale – Disclose.tv
The giant figure was found and recovered by archaeologists but is in danger from land traffickers who have surrounded the area and prevent access to tourists. The archaeological discoveries in the Pampas of Nasca and Palpa do not cease to amaze the world, this time it is the discovery and recovery of a huge geoglyph that represents an orca, a cetacean that is part of the beautiful iconography of the Nasca Culture. The Orca is one of the most enigmatic and ancient drawings of the Palpa-Nasca circuit and it took 50 years for the Peruvian state to recover it when it was already lost. It is a gigantic drawing that was engraved on the hillside of a hill located on the outskirts of Palpa, in the Ica region, a place famous for being the home and study centre of the archaeologist María Reiche. The killer whale is a cetacean that inhabits all the seas of the world. It is known as the 'killer whale' because of its enormous size and ferocity. In ancient Peru, the Nasca considered it a deity linked to the sea and was represented in its fine sculptural ceramics. The geoglyph of the killer whale was photographed in the early 1960s and was considered to have disappeared when it was identified and rescued by the team of archaeologists led by Johny Isla Cuadrado, head of the Decentralized Office of Culture in the Ica region. A truck driver accidentally plowed through 2,000 year old Nazca Lines. Considering the depth it looks he did it intentionally.
Driver Plows Truck into 2,000-Year-Old Nazca Lines Causing Irreversible Damage
In a shocking example of destruction of a fragile archaeological site, a truck driver has been charged with careless driving and entering a prohibited zone after he accidentally drove his truck over the world-renowned Nazca lines in Peru.

The NAZCA lines are a UNESCO World Heritage site and are surrounded by warning signs that clearly prohibit people from entering the area and causing damage to the ancient site. However, AFP reports that the driver ignored the warnings and drove his truck straight over the top of three geoglyphs causing deep track marks that ran for 100 meters. The geoglyphs are so fragile that special shoes must be worn when walking around them to prevent damage to the landscape. The track marks from the truck are on a different scale of destruction altogether.

:movie: Ahh yes, the infamous Nazca lines.

:movie: Can one of you play the ancient person?

:bb:Pick me, I'm strong and I can be the cave man.

:king:I can be the tribal leader.

:vampire:Hey, i can be the vampire they had vampires back then.

:movie:Ok ,you 3 will do, that's it.Now let's imagine... let's imagine, that we are in that spot where those lines are why do you think they were created?

So here we are walking and suddenly somebody from our tribe decides to create these lines and images for fertility rituals revolving around the availability of water. So let's start fertilizing the fertility that revolves around the water.

:bb:Ok, but umm where is the water.

:vampire:I see a nice tasty 100-foot spider picture.

:king:This does not make sense why would I take specific time..out of my life, to draw insects and birds in such a big way..really not understanding your point-because it's pointless.

:movie: let's take a different trip, a trip in which ...we saw something flying and we wanted them to know where we are and whom we are could you 3 do that?would that make you go out your way to create this stuff?

:bb:So here I am in my tribe and I seeeee a giant spider and so I decide to make a giant spider on the ground.

:king:Hey, you took my spider...So here I am and I see a giant bird and so I decide to create it on the ground so that I can ride the giant bird to my castle..the end.

:vampire: So here I am and I see a giant spider and I get under its belly and I suck all the blood out..the end.

:movie:You 3 just really..make me sick to my stomach.

:study: Hey, immortal loser 725..254..whate ever your name is... any. From what i know the Nazca lines were made in a period in which everything was still giant sized. Those figures are nothing but trophies of giants, that the hunters killed back in those times...the end ,end of story.

:movie: No, its not the end because you sound dumber than they do, you really think your knowledge is better than mine because you have that little emoji book..with your little stupid glasses you freaking little

:study: Please please, imortalnolegend no need for name calling because I'm always right. You're very rude and very messy. I think you need a timeout and definitely some anger management classes...maybe a physiatrist why you're at.

:movie:....You know what im not going to stoop down to your level today...only because you might be right, good job.

:study:..Wait, what? You cant agree with me I was just joking immortal clown... you, jerk, you cant agree with me it's not..in my book for you to agree with me.

:movie:Please please, no need for name calling your always right you win today. And so it is written into law that the Nazca lines were created because of the hunters..the hunters that killed the giant insects, as well as animals, then drew these picture to represent what they killed...the end.

:study:I'm reading the definition of jerk face..jerk face..immortallosernoleged530 the end.

:movie:My final conclusion. The Nazca lines by iml527.

Because spaceships don't exist we can eliminate that possibility.

Because of the date of the lines, we can scratch out the cave man era.

The Nazca lines and drawings were...........

Created by a 'Giant' because it was bored that day.

:bb:?
:vampire:?
:king:?
:study:....???

:facepalm:My emoji god, immortal has lost it.:wht:

:movie: THAT'S RIGHT, I SAID IT! A NEPHILIM GOT BORED ONE DAY AND STARTED DRAWING IS THERE A PROBLEM..HUH?

Huge thanks to Michael Wolf for alerting me about this story!

A team of Japanese researchers from Yamagata University and IBM Research have discovered an incredible 143 stunning geoglyphs, etched into the desert in southern Peru around the enigmatic Nazca Lines.

It is yet another example of how technology is assisting archaeology because a number of images were found using state-of-the-art AI technology developed by IBM, finds that were then confirmed with an on-site investigations.

The geoglyphs include humans, birds, camels, cats and other animals and were found between 2016 and 2018. They were identified through fieldwork and analysing high-resolution 3D data and aerial photography. Incredibly, one geoglyph in particular was solely discovered with AI technology, without the aid of humans, making it the first geoglyph discovered by an AI.

Back in April 2018 I reported in a video that Peruvian archaeologists in the Palpa province of Peru had discovered more than 50 new geoglyphs (https://youtu.be/gpkc7-9_604) so this new discovery by the Japanese team builds on the ever-expanding line of study.
