Conspiracy theorist who was punched by astronaut Buzz Aldrin STILL insists moon landing was fake | Daily Mail Online
Conspiracy theorist Bart Sibrel, 55, is insisting the 1969 moon landing was fake on the 50th anniversary of the historic Apollo 11 spaceflight
  • The Tennessee man dedicated 30 years to debunking the moon landings
  • He created four low budget, independent films to prove his theories
  • In 2002 he confronted astronaut Buzz Aldrin, calling him a 'thief, liar and coward'
  • Aldrin then punched him in the face, outraged with the accusations
  • He claims his sources say the Apollo missions were staged to avert international humiliation after President John F. Kennedy said the US would reach the moon
  • He also says that intersecting shadows in photographs from the moon landing prove they were staged

OK not Fortean. Maybe assholian.

Saw some show on Motortrend last night about an old Malibu that a man lovingly restored. Turns out it was stolen about twenty years ago and had to be returned to its rightful owner. Sad but I completely understand. Really don't think the man that did the restoration was anything other than another innocent victim - identifying it was obscure.

Meet the man who unwittingly restored Tarantino's stolen "Pulp Fiction" Malibu

It was the stupid red Malibu from Pulp Fiction and it belonged to Quentin Tarantino. Swiped right out in front of his home during production. So he got his car back finally. Most people don't. The man who restored it did a superb job and he gracefully returned it with all sorts of extra parts. The meticulous care lavished on it was evident. He's somewhere north of $40K in the hole for this thing.

So here's the thing that got my attention. Tarantino never acknowledged it or even said thank you. Let's see - working stiff on one hand, multimillionaire on the other who probably has multiple vehicles and homes. I realize that there's probably more to this story and that maybe Tarantino suspects the man was involved with the theft. The police don't. On the surface it seems an opportunity to behave as a decent person, low hanging fruit at that, was missed. Throw the man a couple of bucks, get him another car, let him keep the damned thing. At least shake his hand. But ignoring the man - what a shitheel. Poor form. Was thinking of seeing Once Upon a Time in Hollywood today but decided to pass. There, that will show him

... "Hemenez is out more than just the $40,000 in restoration costs; he originally bought the Malibu by trading in his beloved 1946 Chevy hot rod, meaning he lost two cars in total: "I just wish Tarantino or his people would step up to the plate and say, 'Hey, thanks for looking after my car,'" Hemenez says. "He can keep the car, it wasn't mine after all, but take care of the little guy who took such good care of your property. I was ultimately left screwed by it all."

Watched bits of the Democratic debate over the past couple of nights. Also watched some of the Trump rally in Ohio - he loves it there (very special) but we both had to be reminded it was Ohio. Take a good look around I hear it's gonna get blown up reeeeeeel good soon.

Watching Bill DeBlasio shriek 'tax the hell out of the rich' actually had me laughing out loud. He's what - 6'5" tall? Yes, it's apparently quite possible to stack shit that high. Jesus, didn't anyone pull him aside and have that talk with him? It's a very old one you know . Successful Romans were given a Triumph and the whole time as they sat their with their faces painted watching the parade a slave was tasked to sit behind them and periodically whisper in their ear 'remember you are but a man.' That guy should be a pundit making the newsfotainment outlets - everybody could make use of that wise counsel.

Happen to be listening to a song earlier I thought was still applicable decades later

Everywhere is freaks and hairies
Dykes and fairies, tell me where is sanity
Tax the rich, feed the poor
'Til there are no rich no more?
I'd love to change the world
But I don't know what to do
So I'll leave it up to you
Population keeps on breeding
Nation bleeding, still more feeding economy
Life is funny, skies are sunny
Bees make honey, who needs money, Monopoly
I'd love to change the world
But I don't know what to do
So I'll leave it up to you

A gunman opened fire Saturday in a Walmart and around a nearby shopping mall in El Paso, Texas, leaving 20 people dead and 26 injured, and prompting calls for urgent blood donations for the wounded, law enforcement officials said.

In delivering an updated number of deceased, Gov. Greg Abbott called it "one of the most deadly days in the history of Texas."

"Twenty innocent people from El Paso have lost their lives," he said.

One suspect was in custody, officials said. Law enforcement sources say police identified the suspect as Patrick Crusius, 21, from the Dallas area. Sgt. Robert Gomez of the El Paso Police Department said no shots were fired by law enforcement.
