As Above So Below
How high taxes, rampant crime, streets littered with addicts are blamed for ruining the Golden State

(Excerpt)

For the first time in a glorious 171-year history that attracted thousands seeking fortunes during the 19th Century Gold Rush, gave birth to the global movie industry and unleashed the digital revolution, California has seen its population – currently just under 40 million – decline.

It shrank by 182,083 last year – equivalent to all the citizens living in the coastal idylls of Santa Monica and Santa Barbara combined.

Families and firms are being driven away by the high cost of living, crime fears, hefty taxes, inadequate housing, interfering officials, persistent political failures, red tape, raging wildfires and the squalor of streets littered with homeless drug addicts.

Former FBI Director Donated $100K To Biden Grandchildren’s Trust While He Was Soliciting Biden For Work: Report

Former FBI Director Donated $100K To Biden Grandchildren’s Trust While He Was Soliciting Biden For Work: Report

In an investigative piece published Thursday, the Daily Mail‘s Josh Boswell reports that former FBI Director Louis Freeh donated $100,000 to a private trust for Joe Biden’s grandchildren in 2016, when Biden still served as vice president, but during that same year he was soliciting Biden’s son Hunter and possibly Biden himself about future work, telling Hunter Biden, “I would like to talk with you and Dad about working together next year.”

“The emails suggest Freeh was trying to establish a future business relationship with Biden – and the White House has failed to disclose to DailyMail.com whether Joe Biden discussed private business with Freeh while in office,” Boswell noted.

In July 2016, Freeh emailed Hunter Biden in an email marked “confidential and privileged” that he “would be delighted to do future work with you. I also spoke to Dad a few weeks ago and would like to explore with him some future work options. I believe that working together on these (and other legal) matters would be of value, fun and rewarding.’

The next month, Freeh reiterated to Hunter Biden, “I would like to talk with you and Dad about working together next year. No doubt both he and you have many options and probably some which are more attractive than my small shop. As you know, we have both a law firm and ‘solutions/investigations’ group with a very good brand, DC and DEL (and NYC) offices, and a profitable and interesting global practice (eg., I’m currently representing the Malaysian PM and his family). So if it’s something which interests you both, let’s talk about it at some point. I’m very flexible and we could set it up as an equity-share or whatever works best. It would certainly be an honor to work with you both.”

In March 2017, after Biden had left office, Freeh asked Hunter for his father’s contact details to discuss “profitable matters,” writing, “I say [saw] Dad in St Joe’s and the 900a today and he said hi walking back from communion–I didn’t get the chance to return greetings. If you have his cell and a personal email, I’d like to have his contacts (will protect). I would still like to persuade him to associate with me and FSS [Freeh’s firm Freeh Sporkin & Sullivan LLP] —as we have some very good and profitable matters which he could enhance with minimal time.”

In April 2017, Freeh referenced Hallie Biden, the widow of Joe Biden’s son Beau who became Hunter’s lover, writing, “As you know, our family foundation made a $100K contribution to Hallie’s children’s trust last year. My accountants (PWC) now advise that since the grant did not go to a 501(c) organization [a charity], it was not a proper foundation gift. ‘So we’ve been in touch with the IRS and PWC and want to correct the situation as follows: I’ll make a new $100k gift to Haley’s trust, and Hallie’s trust will reimburse the foundation by paying it $100k. Sorry for the extra burden. Best regards and warm regards to Hallie, Dad and Mom.”

“Thanks so much and of course no burden at all. Speak to you soon. Hunter,” Hunter Biden answered.

“Hunter replied with Joe’s personal cell, and an email address for Kathy Chung, a staffer from Biden’s vice presidential office who he kept on after leaving the White House,” Boswell reported.

Hunter Biden wrote, “He rarely ever uses email. [Chung’s email address] is also the best way to make sure he gets the message. That’s Kathy whom you have met.”

I went googling looking for this story specifically and by golly, it took a little digging. How strange and unusual. Almost as if it is supposed to go away like Andrew Cuomo's sexual harassment investigation. Simple searches on 'freeh biden donation' produced tons of articles on the Biden campaign returning a $2800 donation from Louis C.K.

GOP lawmaker invokes pooping pandas, Batman costumes in opposing bill

GOP lawmaker invokes pooping pandas, Batman costumes in opposing bill By Samuel Chamberlain May 25, 2021 | 1:08am | Updated

Senator John Kennedy ripped a bill, calling it "an orgy of spending."

Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) blasted a bipartisan bill calling for billions in spending on science and technology research as only he could Monday, saying its Republican backers had “swapped brains” with Democrats and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was “running around like a 5-year-old in a Batman costume” at the prospect of its passage.

“It is an orgy of spending and very little of the money goes to the military,” the famously folksy Kennedy told Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” of the Endless Frontier Act, which is co-sponsored by seven Republicans — including big names like Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Mitt Romney of Utah — and six Democrats, including Schumer.

The bill is framed by its supporters as an effort to shore up American technological superiority against the growing threat of China.

“Right now, the Chinese Communist Party is emphasizing to the world that the United States is a divided nation,” Senate co-sponsor Todd Young (R-Ind.) said in a statement last month. “This is a rare opportunity to show the authoritarians in Beijing, and the rest of the world, that when it comes to our national security, and most importantly our China policy, we are united.”

Kennedy mocked the National Science Foundation saying it spent half a million dollars studying “how long it takes pandas to poop.”

However, Kennedy argued, “my mother did not raise a fool, and if she did, it was one of my brothers. This is not a ‘fight Communism’ bill. If you look at this bill, and study it, you will see this is an ‘all four feet and your snout in the trough’ spending bill with virtually no money going for military defense.”

After Kennedy held up 12 stacks of bound pages to show off the bill’s size to host Tucker Carlson, he ticked off a list of unrelated provisions.

“Here’s what the bill will do,” he said. “$120 billion in foreign aid. I don’t know why we can’t use that money for infrastructure. I don’t know why we have to give money to countries that hate us. They should be able to hate us for free.”

Kennedy also called out a provision in the bill setting aside “$80 billion to the infamous National Science Foundation. This is the same National Science Foundation that spent $500,000 of taxpayer money studying how long it takes pandas to poop.

The answer is 12 minutes, by the way,” Kennedy deadpanned. “They need more fiber.”

The Republican lawmaker added that while he was “not saying that every penny in here is wasteful, I’m saying an enormous amount is, and here we are talking about President Biden raising taxes to pay for infrastructure. Why can’t we use some of this money to pay for infrastructure? That’s all I’m saying.

“Everybody in Washington is for fiscal responsibility. They want to cut spending,” Kennedy concluded. “But everybody in Washington – it’s like going to heaven. They want to go to heaven, but they don’t want to take the trip.”

The bill is currently being debated in the Senate and Kennedy acknowledged that “it’s probably going to pass.”
