I couldn't find the plane which could mean this is an updated Google image. The video explains why that happens. :huh8:

You see the same effect on cars in roads and parking lots.

There have been lots of strange effects in Google Maps images. Since the images seen below an apparent altitude of 10,000 feet are from aerial photos, the motion of the plane that takes a series of photos causes some odd looking things. Another plane, at less than 10,000 feet and more or less directly below the photo plane might show up in several frames, so it looks like half a dozen planes all in a line, or even some kind of echelon formation depending on the relative directions of the two aircraft. It seems like the software that stitches the images together has gotten sophisticated enough to eliminate much of that sort of thing.

There were some very weird mismatches of perspective involving tall buildings in cities. My favorite "anomaly" found on Maps was the famous "flying car" in Australia, if memory serves. That might still be floating around on the interwebz. It was really neat.

I liked the effect that seemed to make the car float as well....but it was so obvious when it was explained.

Wow. That has "disgruntled employee" written all over it. Or just some industrial strength insanity. It will be interesting to see how Google responds.

The swastika link is in response to CY's post. The actual map links didn't show any swastikas which implies they removed them after they received complaints/comments.
