Oldest Known Astrolabe Discovered

The oldest known astrolabe was discovered in 2014 on a shipwreck off the coast of Oman and is dated between 1495 to 1500. It was a Portuguese ship called the Esmeralda. Astrolabes are used in navigation to measure the inclined position of celestial bodies.
