I've posted a few things that got me hooked on Fortean topics.

Anyone want to share what got them into Bat Country?

Be a long distance call hosted by Nasa if I have anything to worry about. They may already have me on record there as a repellent. Immunity to the long term effectiveness of the eraser they are currently sporting.

The visitations of shadow people since I was in my early teens. When i was a kid my mum said our house was haunted. she would yell at me when I told her about the shadow people I saw, she told me to stop lying haha!

I wish it was - but it's Ralph Steadman Ralph Steadman

'Bat country' is a Hunter S. Thompson reference and he's done the illustrations for his books.

For me my entire life, I have had many experiences with shadow creatures too as someone mentioned above and well as many many other paranormal, spiritual, astral experiences, too many to count, it's a daily thing as I journey through this life, some more interesting encounters or experiences are written down, some cannot be shared as some can only be lived...

Either fortunately or unfortunately my encounters with ghosts and UFOs have been satisfactorily explained. The magic has been cleaned off. What remains is my interest and the hope that some day I'll have some other encounter that gets me fired up again.

There is no magic for me either, sure early in years there was before understanding put things into perspective, in other words, satisfactory explained or 'revealed' in some cases...What things still unknown to me I do not regard as magic...

My mom and other family members always told me that our house was haunted. I grew up terrified of certain areas of it and later got to visit the place as a grown man. Had recurring nightmares. Eventually I researched the house's history and found that there was indeed quite a bit of truth behind the old family stories and found a picture of the very person said to haunt it

Once I realized his name was Fred and understood the story better it took away the old fears and either fortunately or unfortunately, all the fun. I can't really say it was haunted. Creepy and old definitely, but I can't really put my finger on any specific incident. I actually feel a little bad about it and sort of wish the mystery was still there. I guess this is what has motivated me to go on a few ghost hunts. If I were to have a truly inexplicable experience now I'm honestly not sure how I'd react.

The house I used to live in over 8 years ago was very active, moving things in the house all the time, lots of talking between a man and woman and direct contact, touching one of my roomies on her shoulder or slapping my feet in bed for instance...I lived there for almost 10 years and every roomie I had living with me had experiences there, including myself...

    if you are being haunted,
fastest way end it is to start asking questions,
    ask them where you are.
    ask them where they are.
ask them what there body is made out of where they are.
if they tell you they can't tell you, then ask why, rules are enforced by someone, ask who that is...
most hauntings vanish at the first hint at the first question.
for whatever reason, they really really don't want you knowing answers.

In the case I posted above there was no doubts whatever they were, that they were there long before my time in that house and I'm sure they are still around there...I never attempted to run them off or give them too much of my attention because they seemed harmless overall and the occurrences were so random, it was difficult to predict when the next would be and where to set up equipment..I did however, during one summer recorded full nights in my bedroom in infrared to see the activity at night and there was an abundance of orb activities, I have 7 nights recorded and did a fast motion scan for anomalies but haven't done a real time scan yet...They are recorded on VHS but I do have a player...

I record orbs on video all the time...
figured they were insects as they almost stopped when winter showed up
I have a motion camera in a building that I know has been haunted in the past, but no one lives there now
not sure how far back the SD card records go, but might be able to post video (and it would be HD video if I have it)
they would wake me up at all hours of the night as an alarm
    quite annoying...
but I am pretty sure that there is no entity in that building now, and likely none in the last 15 years (last report was 16 years ago)
so I wonder if the orbs are useful as far as telling what is haunted
then again, the orbs only go up...
I figure insects would hit the roof and go down at some point,
but the orbs never go back down

I am a tad skeptical about orbs. I took a lot of photos all over Gettysburg plus several other old creepy places and believe they were all dust, bugs or digital artifacts. When we were in town though we met a couple who were doing the same thing inside one of the houses used by snipers during the battle and I have to admit their orbs looked very different, more substantial and definitely got my attention.

100% agree with you. Orbs are bogus - nothing but what you said (dust, bugs or digital artifacts).
