I just saw this in the news.
The people from (most it seems)Oregon are having a cow over the idea that they may have to pump their own gas.
This says volumes about them.
I tell you what I think of them about it but...I don't want to make your hair curl.

I would capitalize on this and set up classes to teach them how to pump gasoline and charge them a good price for it lol...

Todays Gas /Petrol stations are just about the $ from what I have learned years ago it was all about driveway service and a commitment to looking after the customer with oil checks, quick engine bay reconnoitre tyre check window washer check clean back and front windscreens. Now its just get in fill it up ( yourself) and get out. What ever happened to good old fashioned service ?

Well the small town I live nearby has a full service station in town, they will check your oil, clean your windshield and take the payment right from your car, you don't have to get out of your vehicle...I've never stopped there before though lol...

Same here , small town , they have to pull in the customers as there are a few petrol stations in town the ones still offering full driveway service get the most business.

Fratty and out of touch.
I can only remember full service gas stations from back when I was a child. I really miss the traditional hardware stores, though. Lowe's and Home Depot have like 3 employees in each superstore and none of them have a clue about hardware.

Nothing it seems is as it was change sometimes if not for the better. But as I said its usually about saving $s nothing more nothing less. As a consumer you buy they give that's it .

There is nothing worse than to be going out for a night out somewhere and you get all dressed up and go to the Service Station and while filling the vehicle yourself with diesel you get a blowback in the pipe. Cruels the night out totally.

I remember those commercials well and as a kid my parents or grandparents stopping at them stations and they often had 2 guys doing the fill-up and general check.
They would stop at Texaco or Mobil.
Sinclair and Esso was a big one also, when I was a tot.

Its like another world with the now 2018 and the then back then . Amazing films.
Sure is.
Can't help but wonder what the next 50 - 60 years will bring.
I'll be one cranky old geezer by then...although some locals call me cranky already. (just kidding):D
