I got a Cub Cadet 2185. Had it running great...then blew a head gasket.
My John Deere 111 electric PTO gets no power.
My Snapper Z1802 zero turn fuel pump went out.
And my Yardman 16.5 HP starter went bad yesterday.

A few years ago I let a neighbor use my Troybilt riding mower and he blew it up...The plastic cooling fan broke in half while he was mowing...He said he didn't notice anything until the engine overheated and ceased up...

I have a Cub Cadet 42 inch rider. If there is one thing I have learned over the past six years, these things have to be constantly maintenanced. I have the dealership tune it up each spring and I haven’t had any major problems. My lazy neighbor next door bought a rider about four years ago. It is now sitting broken down these days. The fool never had it maintenanced and he would leave it uncovered out in the yard in the elements. It got rained on and you name it, it no longer works and he won’t sink any money into it to get it running.

My niece’s husband bent one of the three blades under a large old lawn tractor my brother’s been lovingly maintaining. Wouldn’t have been a problem but he mowed the whole property totally oblivious. Looked like a discing operation and he was going to plant crops. Oh my.

I maintain my own stuff to the very, very end. The (figurative) sign over the shed door is ‘work will set you free’.

These things aren’t cheap. Can’t imagine blowing a grand or two just to let it rot

I have a neighbor kinda sorta. She lives about 2 miles away down 15th about a block away. She goes through a lawn tractor every single year. My neighbor across the road sold her one and it didn't last 4 weeks. She ran it into a pile of rocks. The very next one the oil plug was removed and it was left off...that one burned up. The next one she said she hit something with it and bent the deck. I was by her place a few weeks ago. She has 4 dead lawn tractors scattered all over.
