the UFOnaut costume, while don't resembling the joe simongton one, is quite accurate to what people usually reported at that time (late 1970's) though i still think they should have put a cap or metal helmet on him

 

this brings an interesting issue: why is paul hynek not complaining that they are casting his mother in a different light?

First episode was so so but I'm done after episode 2 when they decided to show two men tongue kissing eachother in a bar in 1950s America. At this point is it even fair to call it an "agenda"? They won, its normalized and in our faces 24/7. Seemed like it had potential but I guess every series is forced to have that crap in it these days. Sad to see that this is where we are as a society. Everything has been flipped on its head. I hate to see where we're at in 50 years.

 

Tonight's episode will be a fictionalized take on the The Lubbock Lights. But the History Channel also has a write-up giving the real story.

So far in the new PBB tv show we've had an episode about a weather balloon, an owl & birds flying in formation. What's on the schedule for week 4?

So Mrs.Hynek is a ninny? That's her role? I'll keep watching but the is a mash up of Project UFO the X-Files and now The Americans.

As for the fallout shelters - I bet many of us are old enough to remember the drills in elementary school. I see a fair amount of old Civil Defense stuff turn up at flea markets and swap meets. I keep my clean shop rags in this .... and NO .... I haven't reused it as a commode no matter how beerful I've become out in the garage.

 

By the way, when I said earlier that episode 3 was about birds - I didn't even watch the episode. So when I saw a part of it and that guy is in the classroom drawing on the chalk board & explains how it was birds I started to laugh.
