psychic mediums

Anybody have interesting experiences with mediums they would like to share?
My wife and I were given an hour long session as a gift with a nationally known individual. Fun. Silly.

I'd be curious to hear about sessions that hit close to home

Thanks

As a child aged around 11 my friend and I were stopped in the street by a woman who told us she was psychic. She then proceeded to firstly tell me about my two brothers and one sister.I have one sister no brothers.Everything she told me was wrong, though she did tell my friend that his family has something to do with food. His family owned a Chinese restaurant and he was obviously Chinese.Grest psychic ability bearing in mind most Chinese in the North of England in the 1970’s had a connection to Chinese takeaways!.
I’ve been cynical of psychics ever since.

Yeah. Maybe it was her nose that told her your friend was involved with food somehow.

I read We Don't Die years ago and liked it because I'm an ex-telecom guy and got a hoot out of a Bell operator divining your personal mysteries while they look up a number or transfer a call. We had a session with George Anderson (the very one-ringy-dingy guy himself) and he's a cold reader, end of story. The session was a gift - fun but for the $$ I could have put a new lawn tractor to better use. But I've always heard of folks who have passed 'double blind' tests and so forth and my doubts & one experience haven't quenched my interest. Can't really explain why.

I'm bringing this up after having read Leslie Kean's Surviving Death. She mentions George. Nice lady but she sounds a bit credulous. I also read John B Alexander's Reality Denied and he mentioned a artists's colony somewhere in upstate NY where he found a medium that he spoke highly of. Not sure what to make of him overall but he's an interesting character and doesn't seem prone to hyperbole. I'd be interested in having a sit down with her just to see for myself.

There’s a U.K. illusionist called Derren Brown.Hes done several shows debunking psychics. His shows are amazing and well worth a watch.Id be converted if I could see someone do something he can’t replicate.

The shadow

The shadow knows!
I met the late Syvia Browne twice. both times she failed in a spectacular manner.
I will relate one encounter.
we paid extra for a reading. I brought a key that I own for her to read the key has a known history one any real reader would pick up. my turn came,I passed the key to one of her handlers. and asked what do you get from the key?" she looked it over. on one side is stamped A33 the other has the letters WSL. she saw the letters and did a cold reading.
"this is from a ship,yes?"
I said "I think so."
she, then said "its Christmas it's a happy time! a wedding at sea! "
her handler signaled that my time I paid for was up.
Syvia had failed.
on my way out her handler came over.
"that key? WSL? white star line? Room A33?
I smiled. he continued "there was no Christmas was there? No wedding?
I said "nope
He identified the ship.
"you made a fool of her. you two won't be allowed back."
He took our picture and we left with my last question.
"why did you guess right and she did not?"

As Above So Below
Well I have been to many channeling groups doing research into this phenomena, there was an older woman who allegedly was channeling some enlightened being, could have been anyone she was pulling up, I do not think it was her though, she wasn't faking it...I have seen and talked to many channelers, very very few I believe are the real deal...This woman I think was the real deal for many reasons, you had to be there, I sat in 15 of her group meetings where she went into this chant and rolled eyes back and moments later this alleged divine being who had all of the vague answers lol...

I don't think that particular spirit, being, or whatever was anything divine, but it was something from somewhere, it wore here out channeling it for over 30 minutes, I don't think she was faking the exhausting effect on her...Sometimes she recovered in a few minutes, sometimes it took longer...

There's a few more on channeling that I could post about and more on her too...Then there was the time I pissed in the corn flakes of a couple alleged telepaths, I'll never forget that...

My approach to these things is more Ray Stantz than anything else but honestly, you don't know until you go look for yourself.

Channeling sounds interesting and not just as a goof to an outsider looking to make fun of something others take seriously. When I was cycling and would be out on the bike for hours it involved a certain amount of meditation, for lack of a better word, to control heart rate, respiration, to focus and burn energy only on what you need and so forth. I can't say I was communicating with anything other than my own body but sometimes old memories would gurgle up unbidden in that state and I might notice weird little synchronicities. Sensory deprivation tanks look interesting to me for that reason also.

As for mediums, easy pickings on the emotionally vulnerable and even a total fraud could at least provide some decent theater for your fee. People reveal themselves unconsciously with minute details and if you take the time to pay attention they can be obvious. Something I used at work dealing with a******s.

We were allowed to record our session with GA and I would be willing to share it. Not sure if he might take exception to that and I'd have to screen it for personal info first but if anyone is interested let me know. Believe me it isn't exciting.
