I like this character in The Boys, he's extremely powerful and they all thought he was dead...

I finished the 3 seasons of The Boys, watching the season 3 finale last night...Overall I give this series a 7/10, there are some great episodes but also some rather lame episodes, season 2 seemed to be the lesser of the 3 seasons...I recently read there's a 4th and finale season that just started in production...

I like the Umbrella Academy better than The Boys, better acting and story writing IMO and a better soundtrack...

I watched Sameritan last night. Nothing new really.
At his age he needed super powers to pull this off.
I would give it a 5/10. I wondered why he would be doing such movies at his age and then I read in the news that his wife is divorcing him for squandering all their money. :yes3:

Yeah Samaritan is okay, a bit slow at times, I like Sly Stallone movies, so its nice seeing him on screen again...There's better superhero movies but this one is okay...5/10...

I just watched this film, and I didn't really like it. I am a big fan of the original Top Gun movie and have seen it literally dozens of times. Most of those times were 'comfort watching' as they say that children do when they watch a small set of movies over and over again. For my brother and I, Top Gun was one of those movies.

The Top Gun: Maverick movie is filled with what they call 'fan service', where there is in almost every scene a piece of memorabilia from the first movie, there are flashbacks with footage from the original film, and so often a scene is constructed to touch on something that happened before. A lot of this is forced and always made me cringe. I am familiar with what happened in the first movie, which is why I was watching the sequel. I do not need to be constantly reminded. The plot is rather tedious and the aerial action far more far-fetched than anything that happened in Top Gun, thanks to CGI. Maverick's skills and achievements in the first movie were relatively modest compared to this one, where he is essentially playing a fighter pilot version of the Ethan Hunt character from his Mission Impossible film series.

Pinnocio is cold it's lifeless. It's wooden and I'm not talking about the puppet.. the only thing saving this mess from a zero is Tom Hanks who gave it his best shot. My 6 year old found other things to do. My older kids thought it dull and boring. 2/10 only because of Tom Hanks.

I finished watching Immortals (2011), I saw this movie when it first came out and forgot about it until recently...This is a very entertaining movie IMO, keeps a great pace with Henry Cavill as the mortal protagonist and Mickey Rourke as the mortal antagonist...Definitely rewatchable, I enjoyed seeing this movie again...8/10

IMDB apparently has ceased promoting a certain class of user reviews. "Prolific Reviewers" no longer comes up immediately.
Just noticed new IMDB trickiness. There are now the following User Reviews Lists:

Featured
Review Date
Total Votes
Prolific Reviewer
Reviewer Rating

I suppose 'Review Date' and 'Total Votes' might be construed as relatively objective, though not truly so. But the IMDB default is Featured! lol How exactly does a review earn a spot in the favored list?

What pisses me off is that I don't know how long this default has been operational.

Amazon owns IMDB and I suspect this is because of the many Rings of Power negative reviews...

I read about this yesterday, both Amazon and IMDB are not allowing reviews to be sorted by "most helpful" or "helpful" as was done in the past...They both recently changed the default to "featured" so that the negative reviews of their billion dollar mess called Rings of Power are mixed in well with the fewer positive reviews and the "featured" stance also makes sure the fewer positive reviews get to the top of the results first...

I don't know why anyone would think a review should be featured lol, it is a direct reaction to the poor reviews of Rings of Power...

They are trying to be subtle with the deception. A few fairly negative reviews still appear among the Featured ones. But not lower than 5 or 6.

Overseas Amazon is promoting Rings of Power as the number 1 most watched streaming content, but the numbers say different...

Recently I watched Morbius again and I kind of liked it a little more than the first time...The end credits scenes I did not see the first time so both of those were interesting and connected...

This movie stands as the greatest testimony of the horrors of war . From the 8 min intro that stands as the greatest into in movie history. Seeing the jungle go up to the doors "the end" is powerful and moving . The movie decenda slowly into madness. As we see a side of war rarely shown on film. Two words encapsulate the movie "the horror.."
10/10. I let my older kids see it. It left both with a sense of horror and my 15 year old son is revaluating being a marine.

I enjoyed this movie, Three Thousand Years of Longing, in a small way the Djinn's stories were reminiscent of some of the stories in the The Thousand and One Nights books...The ending was perfect and the movie doesn't give itself away too early...8/10

Star Wars: Andor
The prequel series to Rogue One. It starts slowly but spins up by episode 3.
I enjoyed it but perhaps it says something that my two favorite characters were his very likable droid and the flawed Empire officer. 7/10
