Remember the ads in the back of the comic books?

Don't mistake lack of talent for genius
The ads in the back of the comic books & Boys Life were something I'll always cherish. The excitement and wonder how these items worked kept me fascinated. What were your favorite products? Some of mine were the U-Control 7 foot Ghost Monster. For a great read, I'd recommend Mail Order Mysteries by Kirk Demarais. He documents just about every ad there was. He shows you the ad and then states a few different things; What We Imagined, What They Sent & then final thoughts. This was my first lesson in mail/advertising fraud as a kid.

At Peace.
I ordered a few things... X-ray specs, Seamonkeys, And a hand buzzer.

Loved them all... for only a buck... was a deal...of course, they got me with the accessories. I ordered several additional items for the seamonkeys and it added up.. took nearly everything in my piggy bank to do it, and I loved all of it. Was never disappointed.

That's awesome. Always wanted the X-ray specs but never sent off for it.

My parents wouldn’t let me send for any of that stuff.q50
Id mostly see them in older Casper and Wendy books.
When I was 8-9 in ‘84-85 I thought this was a good deal:

Famously they were the lame 2-D green men, thanks Mom&dad!
