I'm concerned about censorship of this site. When AH shut down, and i was looking for a new alien related forum community to join on google, and found absolutely nothing for a while. After a couple weeks of on and off searching, I finally found this sight deep in the google search results. I'm talking around 10-20 pages in. All the other forum sites I found were dead, very unpopular or have a community, and they were on the first page of the google search. Why would this site be so far into the search results, as if it were being hidden from anyone that wasn't very motivated to find an active forum site. I was motivated as I needed a place to talk to people like me, with similar interests and knowledge. When I was on AH, i was always finding new members on the website that only join to get answers about a recent alien / ufo experience, and I loved answering these. Now, on this site, where people have moved to from AH, I see very little new members posting about their experiences (as in people that just experienced something and need quick answers, so they google alien forums), if so, it is only like once a week or every couple of weeks. When I was looking for a site to share my recent experience, I was looking for answers, so I just googled ufo forums, and boom, AH was right there, top of the list.

What do you guys think about this possibility?

    Hey zork,
It is not my area of expertise in particular, but where a site appears in a google search is a hell of a complex thing. Some people pay big $$ for got search results. Some places get hits due to popularity. I see no conspiracy here.
Be glad you found us. People will arrive, it takes time.
    Welcome.

You are asking two different things...

First, what censorship?...There is no censorship here, even if there was, it would not affect this sites listing on search results in Google or Bing...

Regarding search results listings, we are highly visible on Google and Bing, but it depends on what you are searching...I do many random searches myself for this site and Google shows us at the top of the first page of search results...

We have only been here for 18 months or so, AH was around for years, takes time to build a new site...

It's already as Good as Ah ever was and gets just as much traffic. Sure we don't have all the members that Ah had. But the majority of those were people who signed up and left and never came back. We have all the important members Ah had and they are active. So in many ways. Analytically we are doing better.

I've noticed a lot of people will put their foot in the pool then leave. It's difficult for people to talk about their experiences.

People see others talking on message boards and they think it's a chat room. Most people really aren't cut out for message boards. It takes intellectuals to facilitate and grow a message board community.

When Normies come in and want to talk about should I call them noncultivated topics? And they get no reply or even worse negative reply. they leave. Large and by far most normal people aren't cut out for forums. They are places where intellectuals go to argue points and learn from other intellectuals.

I know it makes it sound like I'm saying our forums are elite. Well as unpopular of a word as that is. It's exactly what I'm saying. We have some of the most quality people you can speak to on all the internet. When people leave it's because they couldn't fit in or relate to anyone they spoke to.

As Nivek said give it time, the site is going from stenght to stenght in my opinion!.

I think AH was going the way ATS (Above Top Secret) was going. An unfriendly place with a very right wing mindset... What is the point of having a forum if everyone agrees and there was no debate!?

I think it narrows down to the fact that forums aren't nearly as popular as they were five or six years ago. Since then, social media has exploded. Most people I know from forums now frequent Facebook groups or Reddit for specific topics, rather than joining message boards. It's easier, I guess. But I personally prefer forums due to the anonymity of it.

Also, I noticed a downhill spiral on AU and similar forums after 2012. Quality of topics decreased and thus most of the influential posters left. Plus, like Captain Tinkle said, most of the conspiracy places have turned into a right-wing cesspool with name calling and no debate.

Unfortunately, the sharing of personal experiences has been a subject of debate on this forum and others such as AH. There is no easy answer. People sometimes come here to share very personal experiences but the forums still have to be open for all comments.

As with most forums, 95% of the posters are considerate and thoughtful. Some people, however, either don't understand civility or simply don't care about common courtesy. We can't define good manners and mandate their usage.

I wish their was more we could do.

I didn't think too much about how old this site was, but I think that if a large power e.g. the government or something alike, wanted to censor sites like this, they defiantly could impact search results on search engines, as that is where almost everyone goes to start searching for information, and it would be the perfect place to start hiding information. They're even teaching, at least at my high school, us to use google as a primary source to find information.

But in a sense, I agree with what you're saying, it takes time to build a new website. I'm not too knowledgeable with how forum communities change and develop. I feel that this site being the age is it, would have a large impact on where it stands in search engine results.

Alien Hub was ultimately just a business for Q. It had no meaning beyond revenue for the administration.

An example of this is, How many people at AH Ever saw Q post anything that wasn't urgently related to forum updates. Very rare. people should forget about AH... It was never what people thought it was. This place is more Real then AH ever was.

    you just got to adapt
yes the hub is gone with it's note 'the queen is gone forever' meaning the sites never coming back
at least that's what it said
you just got to use the resources you have, use multiple forums, get into other subjects like poetry
if you search "supernatural" you could find other forums where you can talk about aliens, where it wouldn't show up on google if you just search "aliens"
but there's a lot of stuff on the internet.

I was looking at the other links that come up when I search for AE.

I didn't realize that most of the site traffic is from New Zealand and that AE is in the top 5000 there.

We have over a 100 Twitter followers now, many of them come here each day, multiple times a day as guests and read the threads...

I was actually looking at links about AE:

    Alienexpanse.com: Alien Expanse
Alienexpanse.com is not yet effective in its SEO tactics: it has Google PR 0. It may also be penalized or lacking valuable inbound links.

I found this interesting. I don't use Google so I don't pay attention to this stuff.

However it appears that there may be some low hanging fruit to increase the AE rankings (assuming we wish to do so).

My impression of Google rankings is that there may be some politics involved (they are rabidly progressive and actually fire conservative employees who "out" themselves).

The inbound links appears to be a place to improve. If we can get other VALUABLE sites to link to us we can raise our rating. Reciprocal links don't count as much. Worthless sites don't count as much.

Another way to get a PR 0 (other than no inbound links) is SPAM. It might be worth checking with Google if posts about Aliens, Ghosts, and UFOs are regarded as SPAM. Since AH didn't have a problem, we shouldn't either unless their policy changed.

Alien Hub had lots of google hits when it was live..
I found it by looking up general terms like UFO or Alien.
But AE is not seen much at all...
