We are about to witness an extremely unusual convergence of events that many believe could represent a major turning point for our nation. By now you have probably heard that on August 21st a total solar eclipse will move across the entire continental United States for the first time in decades. In fact, we have not seen a total solar eclipse cross from the west coast to the east coast in 99 years. And it will be the very first total solar eclipse that is only visible in this country since the United States first became a nation. Starting with that event, there is going to be a whole lot going on until we reach the end of September. The following are 12 critical events that are going to happen over a 40 day period from August 21st to September 30th…

August 21 – The “Great American Eclipse” will sweep across portions of Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Seven years later, another very unusual total solar eclipse will move across our nation, and when you plot the paths of both eclipses on a map, they form a giant “X” right over the center of the United States.

I'm probably too far south. The umbra will pass over the New Madrid Fault & Yellowstone. There's speculation of a tsunami, earthquake(s) or volcanic eruption.

I read somewhere that a farm in the path of the eclipse in South Carolina rented camping spaces for 1500 dollars each they sold out, I don't know how many were available...What if it rains or is cloudy that day, are there refunds?...

That's a lot of money for one night. Most people will probably only see that one eclipse in their lifetime.

I have a blurry memory from when I was a child when there was a solar eclipse in Europe. I remember the color purple and a big black spot on the sky...honestly I don't even know how a total solar eclipse looks like.

Is this upcoming one gonna be visible from Europe?

There's traffic problems along the path of totality. This upcoming eclipse has a cult like following. The state of Wyoming is expected to double their population.

  • Traffic along the eclipse's 'path of totality' started backing up Wednesday
  • The path is where revelers should be able to see the full eclipse
  • In rural areas of Oregon dozens of eclipse festivals add to the road congestion
  • Some gas stations have run out of gas, while others are seeing long lines
  • In other parts of the country weather will effect viewing
  • Thunderstorms in Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri may dampen viewing plans
  • Some schools are closing so family's can make sure children watch safely
  • Other schools have decided to extend the day to use it as a learning experience
  • US corporations will lose out on money while workers flock to windows and outside and even online to watch the event live

If they use road tolls for the highways they could easily make a few good bucks out of this event.,
A Kind of solar tax,, instead of the usual subsidues

I was planning to travel to South Carolina to be in the path and see it fully but with all the conjestion and crowds I'm just fine with staying home and viewing it which I'm just two hours from the South Carolina border anyway lol...

At home I'll be able to view about 80% or so which is fine with me...
