After the horrible epsiode last week, I'm not inclined to watch this week's episode...I may dump Picard all together and not watch it again...Yeah, last week's episode was that bad...

So after episode 7 I haven't watched anymore of this series...I was just recently watching a brief review of the episodes that followed episode 7 and they say it gets even worse...The final episode of season 2 airs this week, I've not heard if there's going to be a season 3 but it's probably best they let this series rest...

I finished all of it while winding coils.
If I didn't finish it I would probably casually wonder what the rest of it was like for years

What did you think of the final episodes?...I've only heard some reviews online which may or may not have been biased...

it tied it all back together at the end
I doubt they will make another season
guess I was 80% happy with it and 20% annoyed
I have no reason to keep that streaming service now,
can't imagine they will make anything that I would want to watch again.

Well, it looks like we are not in agreement on this series my old friend. lol... I have enjoyed both of the series so far and am looking forward to the third [and last] which is already almost finished and due to air sometime early in the new year. ... Of course it could have been better! ... but nevertheless it was good enough to grip my attention [if only for Picard Stewart himself]... I have surprised myself into having the patience to wait the series out [both seasons] in order for me to 'binge watch' a whole series over a couple of nights! ... I first discovered the benefits of this habit when I became a late-comer to the 'GOT' franchise. [took me ages of square-eyed-fulfilment to grind through that monster lol!] ... and since then, that's been my preferred method of enjoying many of these 'personal-must-see series' ... Braking Bad, and it's even better...Better Call Saul, Mandalorian , Boba Fett, Ozark etc.
... I can't help thinking that besides the obvious 'woke additions' of Severn [who was in love with at least three different male characters in her original series Voyager] turns out to be a rampant lesbian [to satisfy the new world masters] there was also too great a temptation for the producers to keep fetching back 'Brent Spiner' in different guises which from my point of view spoilt the newness of this programme. In other words, though I am as big a fan of Commander Data as anyone else... this new 'Spiner-villain' just didn't work for me! ... and I would have much rather had guest appearances from other old cast members that didn't get a look in such as Michael Dorn's Worf, Levar Burton's La Forge or Colm Meaney's O'Brien etc ... and also, I have to agree that the actual storyline wasn't really what you would call 'top drawer' , but as I said previously.... With the chief contribution of Patrick Stewart's playing his role with all the seriousness that you'd expect from Jean-Luc Picard , the addition of a couple of my old favourites from the original show, Q, and the Borg-queen It just about passed muster , and I am looking forward to seeing Picard's final outing next year!
.... but then, we are all different aren't we [thank goodness] and I would personally give Picard [both series so far] a solid 8/10.

Cheers Buddy.

I finally got round to watching the last 3 episodes of season 2...Episodes 8 and 9 were okay, I liked the direction they took with the Borg, however they ended that subplot too quickly...Episode 10 was a bit of a sleeper until the end revealed a peek at what's coming for season 3, it got a bit stale with Q and Picard sitting face to face talking about gods and death...I wasn't surprised by the one who decided to stay behind, in his shoes I probably would too...

Back to the ending, I liked the Borg Queen Agnes in the present, all of that looks impressive with her depiction of the Borg...Not too keen on them rewriting the whole of Borg history, does this nullify all of Voyager's experiences with the Borg?...It should have but we see Seven of Nine hasn't changed, this new Borg timeline should have cancelled out the assimilation of Annika Hansen...I think there's too many multiverse and timeliness stories lately, its beginning to get a little drab...

Just watched episode one... and so far, excellent! [can't wait for the other nine] ... Patrick seems every day of his great age, ... but that was no surprise, and as this is to be the very last outings for Jean-Luc Picard then this is entirely appropriate. Jonathan Frakes looks good being a well kept stately looking seventy year old , which is in contrast to Gates McFadden's suspiciously tight skinned face for a seventy three year old lady.... and needless to say that Jeri Ryan always looks good to me. lol
.... Besides the star-power's visuals, the whole look of the episode [and hopefully series] I would class as an expensive 'classic-star-trek' with a little added sophistication. ... The plot line [as I can know from the single opening episode] is just about what you would expect from such a show as this... nothing new,.. just reliable, with the promise of more to come! ... All in all, I found the whole situation pretty bitter-sweet because on one hand it is very enjoyable to once again be in the company of Picard and co. .... but sad to know that these measly ten episodes will be the very last of an era that i've personally enjoyed for thirty five+ years.

Cheers.

Are any of these standalone episodes or do you have to go back to the beginning for the whole story arc?

Unfortunately not, each season has it's own storyline building through each episode of each season...The first two seasons are not the best, I would watch this new season three as this is the one which the Next Generation crew returns...

I dunno about this one. I tried to watch the first season and flamed out. So I did some serious fast forwarding to get to Season 3. I'm a bit lost and don't care about whatever Rafaella is doing. I see her I grab the remote. Not sure how they all got from rogue to Starfleet or how Q fits in but what the hell, I can live with that. Just not my flavor or Star Trek.

That said, it's really good to see Riker and Picard back together and it is a bit like TNG all over again. At least there's no Son'a and we're not looking at Nosferaftu-Romulans and nobody wants to blow up Vulcan again. The dinner scene aboard Titan was great! Gates McFadden went a bit overboard on the cosmetic surgery though - a shame. No idea who the bad guys are yet, probably some new Borg-ey thing. You'd think by now they would have figured out that big CGI effects do not a good scene necessarily make.

The best fast forwarding you can do is steer clear of the first 2 seasons and start directly with season 3...The first 2 seasons have no bearing on season 3 and are a bit woke for my taste, although there are a couple three episodes in season 1 that I liked, but only because they were Borg related (the old Borg before they were chewed up and spat out as an all new improved woke Borg that season 2 regurgitated)...
