Star Trek: Picard

Just watched season 3 episode 2, another good one with one exception, I think they spent too much time on Raffi...I don't care about that woman nor her faults and drug habits...This is a show about Picard, not Raffi Musiker, less time on her please and more on Picard and the TNG crew...Worf entering into the episode the way he did is, well it's Worf lol, and he's awesome but how does he even know Raffi anyway?...

Amada Plummer as Vadic. That's Nana Visitor-level over acting without the benefit of being attractive. Oy.

Capt. Shaw is an ******e that I can't help but like. Good job on that one Todd.

Fast Forwarded past Raffi. I was full of cookies and avoiding Raffi - did I miss Worf?

Worf helps Raffi deal with a Ferengi towards the end of the episode...

It's nice to see Picard taking command of the situations, which was lacking in the previous two seasons...

Just watched episode three of season three of Picard...Excellent once again, so much better writing and acting than we got in the previous two seasons...The portal weapon is a great concept and I was blown away by the huge reveal!...OMG...

The changelings are behind all this!...It's awesome to see the Dominion or are they rogue acting autonomous of the Dominion?...Will we see the Jem'Hadar and the Vorta?...

This is shaping up to be a great season...

So I have a couple things I need to pick at...First, it's Worf, his face is not quite the same, around his mouth and eyes the makeup is not in continuity with his character as we've seen him before...He should look the same but older and his eyes and mouth are off a bit...

Second, there's that portal device...Why must the owner's of that weapon simply call it "the device"...It's cheesy since they surely have a name for it that Picard and the Federation does not know yet...

Can't wait for the next episode...:)

Oh jeez, I had a different takeaway but do agree Worf ain't quite right. Good to see them back together again at any rate.

Uhhhh ... guessing but seems the sarcastic Captain of the Titan must die. If you are a snot nose and Riker and Picard show up best to head to Risa and get your Hor'ghan on or something. Really.

If Titan isn't Enterprise what is it exactly ?

Yeah my review was given the context of the era which we live now...Is it like the old Star Trek?...Yes and no, but it's an improvement...I don't like the dark atmospheres they present us with, everything is dark, the bridge, the hallways, even in the elevator...

Although for once we see people realistically getting slammed into walls, etc. A trade off between darkness and realism I suppose. Next we'll see a clogged toilet.

I think what I dislike about the dark theme is that we are currently living in one just like the viewing audience of the original TOS did. I look to entertainment like that for they same reasons they did at the time - to see a hopeful future. Women in miniskirts back then didn't hurt - Gramps did let me watch it even if we had different reasons. We were on the same page about Roadrunner cartoons though. But TOS let us know that we got past nuclear war, disease, privation for a more mature less violent future.

Instead we get darkness and gratuitous CGI space combat. Ho hum. Looks like they reused the same design from one of those bad reboot movies where they stupidly blew up Vulcan. This is why I liked Strange New Worlds so much. Star Trek Continues too for that matter. Standalone good stories that remind me of the original.

Glad to see the band back together and I'll still watch it. Probably what's really changed is me.

I guess they paired Worf with Raffi to keep her relevant...Still waiting to see Jordi and Data but I'm sure they will come onto the scene soon enough...

oops. not working ......

Apparently 'de-aging' someone is a CGI trick now. Cool and necessary. Reminds me of bringing back the dead like Peter Cushing or Carrie Fisher though. A bit creepy.

I watched episodes 4 and 5 together, back to back, and I must say each episode is better and better over the previous...The story is unfolding in a fantastic way, I'm very much enjoying this season of Picard...Episode 5 is most excellent, revealing more about what the changlings are doing without giving away the plot...I can't wait for the next episode lol...

# 5 also well done, really enjoyed it.

The characters talked about getting back to what they were good at and what made them famous. I think they were speaking to the audience and to Star Trek overall. I still have to FF through all that Raffi **** though.

The next episode will drop in a few days, looks like we have Worf joining the crew and we also found out
the Changlings are everywhere...
Episode 6 may be very exciting!...

Episode six is outstanding!...

Loved the 'tip of the hat' to Star Trek Voyager, yeah this episode has some nostalgia as if there wasn't enough already in this season lol...Not belittling the intense action and amazing storytelling that unfolds in this episode...Absolutely outstanding...

I think I'll have to watch that one again - it was great !!

No spoiler but we got to see some old stuff again and they really have tried to tie in the various franchises. I smell a connection to one of the really bad last two TNG movies they made. Ugh. There are also references to Picard season 2 that I only vaguely understand and from what I have seen, am probably better off for it.

Raffi and Seven of Nine? Ugh. Just stop that. Now I have another reason to want Raffi offed. Leave Jeri Ryan out of all that please, don't screw up the image that's been safely in my head for years.

Three times for me now, having viewed the episode again earlier today while it was raining outside...I was outside trimming the bushes this morning and a two hour rain came in so I clicked on this episode lol...
