‘Storm Area 51’ creator threatens legal action against former partner in Rachel, Nevada
September 12, 2019: CHANNEL 13 ACTION NEWS:
UPDATE: 'Alienstock' event moving forward in Rachel, Nev.
LAS VEGAS (KTNV) – – The man behind the viral Storm Area 51 sensation wants his former partner to cancel her planned festival in rural Nevada next weekend, according to an attorney letter.
On Thursday, September 12, 13 Action News obtained a copy of the cease-and-desist letter addressed to Connie West, owner of the Little A’Le’Inn in Rachel. This document was sent by a law firm representing Matty Roberts and another client Brock Daily.
In that letter Matty Roberts stated: “It is also my understanding that you have sold over 2,400 tickets/camping spots for the Alienstock event and are still telling people the event is still happening in Rachel, Nevada.”
Roberts is the man who created the Storm Area 51 Facebook event that went viral and inspired a slew of Area 51 themed festivals and events in September. Up until Monday, he was co-organizing a festival called Alien Stock in Rachel with West.
Alien Stock was on schedule to take place Sept. 19 through 22 in Rachel.
A TOTAL CONFUSION AT THIS MOMENT!!
As of this moment (September 13, 2019) Connie West of the LITTLE A-LE-INN states that the event will still happen in Rachel!!
Roberts had suddenly announced that he was splitting from the event earlier this week, citing transparency issues with business partners and safety concerns. He has since announced a new partnership with the Downtown Events Center, joining their “Area 51 Celebration” event on Sept. 19 in Las Vegas.
West has previously said she is financially invested in the event. She also provided 13 Action News with evidence of signed agreements for over 100 portable toilets, security and first responders.
According to Connie West:
“The following preparations have been made:
All city and county event permits have been obtained
250 State security officials and private event security
16 medical staff, 5 manned ambulances, and several medical tents
On-site well access with fauceting for all attendees
500 gallons of emergency-reserve gasoline
130+ Porta potties (6 handicap accessible)
90+ Recycle Retainers and 6 full-sized dumpsters
Alienstock will feature 2 stages and 35+ artists.
A lineup of 20 bands and two comedians are also part of the festival plans.”
But here is a comment from Joeg Arnu, a resident of Rachel, Nevada”:
“What we have here is a case of the con artists getting conned. I just don’t know who is the ultimate con artist. All parties involved are guilty of mis-handling this because of their greed and will be held accountable when this is over.
If it was not for the fact that our community may get destroyed by a rioting mob next week I would sit back and enjoy the show. But unfortunately at this time we expect riots when people find out that they were conned and none of the things promised are delivered.”
I agree with what this resident says, I think the whole thing should be shut down, all of it...
Nick picked the right Scotch!

'Storm Area 51’ event canceled after everyone realizes it’s a horrible idea - AirForceTimes
For one brief shining moment this summer, UFO enthusiasts had a dream.
With the help of a joke Facebook page that went viral, they hoped to band together and, en masse, rush onto Area 51 Sept. 20. Their goal? To prove, once and for all, that the military really is hiding UFOs or evidence of aliens at the Air Force’s storied and highly classified test site in the Nevada desert.
After all, the tongue-in-cheek page claimed, “they can’t stop all of us. ... If we naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Lets [sic] see them aliens.”
But now, after the ill-conceived “Leeroy Jenkins”-style run morphed into an electronic dance music, arts and camping event called Alienstock, it is all falling through. Storm Area 51 creator Matty Roberts posted a notice on Alienstock’s website earlier this week to announce he was pulling the plug on the festival. He pointed fingers at permit holder Connie West and the festival’s alleged “lack of infrastructure, poor planning, risk management and blatant disregard for the safety of the expected 10,000+ Alienstock attendees.” Alienstock was to be held in the tiny desert town of Rachel, Nevada, which is near Area 51 and where West helps run the Little A’Le’Inn hotel for alien enthusiasts.
In a sign of how bad things had apparently gotten, Roberts insisted he and Alienstock would not be involved in “FyreFest 2.0,” referencing the infamous 2017 music festival that melted down before it even began and led to multiple counts of fraud.
“We foresee a possible humanitarian disaster in the works, and we can’t participate in any capacity at this point,” Alienstock’s website now reads. “We just don’t want anyone to get injured or stuck in the middle of the desert.”
Alienstock now plans to relocate to the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center on Sept. 19, the site said.
Meanwhile, the military and local officials from nearby Lincoln County, Nevada, are surely breathing a sigh of relief that Alienstock is moving even farther away from Area 51, and making it even less likely that misguided alien seekers will charge the gate. Which is probably for the best. Because contrary to the original Facebook page’s claim, they probably can’t outrun security forces’ bullets.
Good to hear.....I didn't want that man to die.

Storm Area 51 fans setting up camp in desert Nevada
People have begun arriving in the Nevada desert ahead of “Alienstock” and a number of “Storm Area 51"-related events scheduled to take place to this weekend, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
According to the local publication, a number of campers have begun putting up tents and setting up camp near Rachel, a small town in Lincoln County that was recorded to have a population of 54 in the 2010 census.
Footage captured by the newspaper shows people gathering in RVs and pickup trucks close to Route 375.
We come in peace: Just 75 alien enthusiasts make it to the gates of military base despite thousands descending on tiny Nevada desert towns for 'Storm Area 51' event - as police make two arrests
Just 75 people have made it to the gates of Area 51, despite claims that millions more would storm the highly-classified Air Force base in rural Nevada.
The group of alien enthusiasts marched to the gates of the government compound in the early hours of Friday morning for the much-hyped 'Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All of Us' event.
The attendees appeared to be in high spirits, dressed in outlandish costumes and waving placards while they chatted with police on patrol.
Despite the easygoing atmosphere, Associated Press reports that there were two arrests as the crowd gathered at around 3am.
The news agency said it wasn't immediately clear if a woman who began ducking under a gate and a man who urinated nearby were those that were arrested.

I didn't realize that it is possible to literally reach the front gate of the base.
Looks like it was harmless fun. Better than the Roswell Rock scam.
The front gate isn't close to anything relevant, this is it:
it was a bust..
