Storming Area 51

Terrorists typically do not see nor think themselves terrorists, in this case certainly not, but I have no doubt they will get treated as such if they trespass...

...

It qualifies as such....they can either be jailed for 40 years or be deported. I'd give the survivors that choice.

I don't get why you guys are talking about warning shots and whatnot. Do you really think anyone will have the balls to actually go past the "no trespassing" sign? Of course not. Most likely no one will die, or even get hurt. Once they get confronted by the LMG mounted jeeps, they will simply go back home.

Personally I'd say 5% will die before they even get to the camo dudes.

Lots of people seem to think that there is some connection between clicking a button at a humorous web page and showing up in the desert for a fool's errand. It's a joke, most people get it, and the ones who don't probably couldn't navigate their way into the area if they had the wherewithal to do it. Sure, some nuts and some wags and a few idlers will wander into that little town. It's not Rachel. The "Alien Center" is at a crossroads in an area that's home to a few hundred people.

My guess: There will be a hundred or so people there that day, ranging from some tinfoil hat wearing nutjobs to reporters who have pissed off their bosses recently, to some vloggers looking for click fodder. And some Nevada Highway Patrol and Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputies. The Air Force will be watching closely, and of course they will have some operatives at the Center disguised as tourons. The performance artists dressed as Men In Black will be among those most at risk of heat related illness. I hope the county or some authority arranges for an ambulance or three to stand by.

Storm Area 51 craze continues as 2M people pledge to raid secret government military base

A million here, a million there. Pretty soon you're talking real figures.

The "Storm Area 51 event" event that went viral last month as people pledged to crash the secret military base in an attempt to "see them aliens" has only grown in scale in recent weeks. More than 2 million Facebook users have now said they are going, up from slightly more than 400,000 two weeks ago and 1.5 million people as of July 17.

An additional 1.4 million people have said they are interested in attending the event.

Following the craze, British oddsmaker BookMaker.eu placed odds on the number of sign-ups for the event, with the over/under set at 2.3 million. The odds on the over were most recently at -160 and the under was at +130. That means a better who bet $100 would win back their original bet plus $130 if less than 2.3 million people attend.

BookMaker.eu also put odds on the number of arrests and whether aliens will actually be discovered. With regard to the number of arrests, based on what USA Today reports at the time of the event, the over/under is set at 9.5, with the under attracting most of the money, offering -350 odds.

As to whether aliens are actually discovered, the odds are in overwhelmingly in favor of No, at -40,000. That means a person would have to bet $40 just to win $1. But if for some reason the people manage to get through and E.T. is found running around, bettors will be rewarded handsomely, with the odds on Yes at +4,000.

While the event, which takes place Friday, Sept. 20 between 3 AM and 6 AM PDT, has garnered significant media attention, it's highly unlikely anything will come of it.

U.S. Air Force spokeswoman Laura McAndrews recently issued a statement saying the Air Force "would discourage anyone from trying to come into the area where we train American armed forces," adding that it [the U.S. Air Force] "always stands ready to protect America and its assets."

Annie Jacobsen – author of "Area 51: An Uncensored History of America's Top Secret Military Base – recently told Fox & Friends that she dismissed the idea that civilians could get close to the facility. She explained that the classified military facility is housed inside a classified testing and training range which is the size of Connecticut.

"That base is so jealously guarded, both in terms of media and in terms of actual physicality," said Jacobsen. "I don't think the Air Force or any of the other military partners or intelligence community partners that are all working out there at Area 51 are gonna let anybody anywhere near the entrance to Area 51."

It has, however, spawned sibling events, including the "Storm the Bermuda Triangle" event, which was set up by Dominick Carnovale, who said attending the Area 51 event would be "dangerous."

"I honestly just don't want people to attend the Area 51 event because I don't want people getting shot or arrested," Carnovale told Fox 5 NY.

A "Storm Loch Ness" event to look for the Loch Ness Monster has been created as well.

Its hard to believe there are that many delusional people.

As for the Bermuda Triangle maybe they can go to the shore and start swimming......the sharks in the area would love it.

At Peace.
For the record, I will not be going anywhere near Area 51.

I will be checking the news to see how this plays out... my guess is it will be a total non event, and most of the people that signed up are children with false identities.

I wonder how many names were hacked signups...

What kind of response do you think we would see from the Feds if two million people showed up outside Area 51?...Would we see the Army and Marines massing tanks and troops and the Air force massing helicopters and jets on standby?...The whole world would be watching this event, if push comes to shove will the military use full force or would they just lock down the compound and let the people beat on the doors until they got tired and went home?...

Well if an attack is launched on Area 51 the military can respond in a number of ways...….and force is surely justified in an attack. But most of the casualties will be by the people themselves dying in the desert. Most won't even make it to the camo dudes......but they won't be there.

Personally I'd have booby traps at the inner perimeter for the few that even make it to the base......Bouncing Bettys would work in such an attack.

I think the army will just be there to arrest whose left.....and then go help the organizers pick up the bodies.

I wonder if these people realize there was a bombing range in between the road and the 30 miles to the base.

There is no way a million people could mass anywhere near Area 51. It's physically impossible, for all practical purposes. The infrastructure is just not there. Those two-lane roads would clog up and cause complete chaos with even a few thousand vehicles. If you just beamed 10,000 people over to the Alien Center, chaos would ensue and nothing would happen but a giant mess with all sorts of casualties, even if the temperature was 70 degrees and it was cloudy. Factor in the obvious reality that only crazy people and complete morons would want to be there, and you have a giant shitshow. I'm sure there will be some kind of shitshow in the area on that day, but it's not likely to be of any significant size.

If anybody does show up, I hope the military and cops exercise alot of restraint in dealing with them. There are folks who would love to see them go full Boston Massacre on the interlopers, as it would give their ideas support.

What's funny is, on my screen your post shows that two people I personally know are "interested." Even if they wanted to go I know that neither could afford the trip!

The shadow

The shadow knows!
also I think the government would move any aliens out of 51 long ago..
no if we do have alien tech its long gone out of 51 and hidden somewhere else..
