Mystery Chariot Washes Ashore in India

In a fantastical story out of India, residents living along a beach being battered by a powerful cyclone were baffled by the sudden appearance of a mysterious gold-colored chariot that washed ashore from parts unknown. According to a local media report, the puzzling piece of debris was spotted in the Sunnapalli Sea Harbor in the state of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday as Cyclone Asani was pounding the region. Upon catching sight of the out-of-place object floating in the water, several daring individuals braved the elements and swam out to retrieve the chariot.

Had they been hoping that the object was actually made of gold, their hopes were undoubtedly dashed when it was determined that the colorful debris was constructed out of tin sheet metal that had simply been given a gilded appearance with paint. Beyond how it was built, however, lingers a far larger mystery, which is that of its origins. Authorities, who seized the chariot shortly after it had been pulled to shore, say that it bears only the inscription '16-01-2022,' suggesting it was built this past January 16th, but otherwise contained no clues as to where it could have come from.

Given the turbulent seas throughout the region thanks to Cyclone Asani, one local official speculated that the chariot could have been carried to India from some other country. Another theory being bandied about is that it is a prop from a movie that got swept away in the storm. Indicating that they are not taking the matter lightly, authorities reportedly called in a bomb squad to ensure that the 'vessel' posed no danger to the public, which it did not, and they now plan to enlist experts to examine the chariot in the hopes of figuring out where its wild journey began.

Bear cub sinks its teeth into woman's face 'because she smelled like fish': Animal chomps on victim's chin at Russian park after she ate a salmon salad

A shocking video shows the agonising moment a performing brown bear cub bites the chin of a young woman who had just eaten a salmon salad with a 'death grip'. The wild beast was with its owner who was using it as a real-life prop to entice passersby to pay to take photos when the woman in the video, Madina, sat down for a picture.

The hungry cub clambered over to her with seemingly endearing curiosity as Madina smiled and welcomed its sniffing licks at a main park in the Russian city of Grozny. But the bear cub could 'smell the salmon salad' she had just eaten and in a moment of unexpected ferocity lunged forwards and sank its teeth into her chin.

'The poor animal was hungry,' she said afterwards. 'The little bear climbed up to me, crying. 'When he got close to my face, I wanted to remove him, but due to hunger, his reflex kicked in and he clenched his teeth on my chin. 'They couldn't take him away from me.'

Plagued by Terrifying Dreams, Thieves Return Stolen Statues to Temple in India

A group of thieves who stole several sacred statues from a temple in India wound up quickly returning the pilfered pieces due to what they say were terrifying dreams that had plagued them ever since the ill-advised caper. According to a local media report, the very weird case began last week when the unidentified gang of sticky-fingered ne'er-do-wells made off with 16 small idols from a 300-year-old temple in the village of Taruha. The heist drew condemnation from the temple's head priest, who described the pieces as precious, and multiple Hindu organizations decried the incident while calling on police to catch the crooks. Fortunately, it did not take long for the crime to resolve itself by way of what would seem to be some kind of supernatural intervention.

This past Sunday evening, the temple priest was surprised to discover a mysterious sack that had been left on his doorstep. Within the bag were fourteen of the stolen statues as well as a rather odd note that had been written by the individuals who stole the piece. "We have been suffering from nightmares since we committed the theft and have not been able to sleep, eat and live peacefully," lamented the thieves, who explained that they were returning the stolen idols because "we are fed up with the scary dreams." It remains to be seen whether or not the unexpected act of contrition will provide the thieves any peace, though one presumes police are still on the hunt for the miscreants and the two statues that they failed to return.

Texas landscaper, 53, is killed by swarm of hybrid BEES after disturbing their hive while suspended in a harness hanging from a tree: Grandfather was stung for TEN minutes and could not escape

Franco Galvan Martinez, 53, (right and with his wife left ) was suspended by a harness as he worked in a tree in a backyard in Austin when the horror unfolded. The landscaper kicked away the ladder he used to get up the tree leaving him suspended in his harness for 10 minutes while the bees attacked. Most wild bee hives (inset) in Texas are likely a hybrid between the more docile European honey bee and the more aggressive Africanized honey bee. There are an average of 62 deaths in the US every year from bee, wasp and hornet stings.

Johnny Cash mural springs a curious leak after vandal shoots hometown water tower in 'sensitive area'

Johnny Cash first hit #1 with the song "I Walk the Line," but a mural in his Arkansas hometown will be known for a different kind of #1.

Thanks to a well-placed prank, a water tower with a painted silhouette of the late music legend is currently leaking – and appearing to take a leak – over his Arkansas hometown of Kingsland after a prankster with impressive aim recently shot the tank.

"Somebody shot our water tower, shot the silhouette of Johnny Cash in a very sensitive area," Kingsland Mayor Luke Neal told FOX 16. "It's been leaking for the last almost week."

Kingsland, which has a population of around 500 people, paid homage to the star by painting a silhouette of the "Man in Black" holding a red guitar on their water tower in March 2021. The silhouette stands at 6 feet 2 inches and is Cash's exact height.

Image-5-19-22-at-19.11.jpg

People from nearby towns are making special trips to see the leaking legend. But not everyone is tickled by the tower taking a tinkle. According to Mayor Luke Neal, Kingsland is losing about 30,000 gallons of water every day the whizz continues.

"You kind of run on a tighter budget in small towns like this, because it's really all you've got to work with. And things like this can set you back a little bit," Neal told local news channel THV-11.

Image-5-19-22-at-19.13.jpg

Neal said the leak is costing the town nearly $5,000 to repair. Crews will have to drain the entire tower before beginning.

A week after the tower was shot, police arrested 38-year-old Timonthy Sled on Thursday. Sled was charged with two felonies for allegedly shooting a hole in a water tower. Sled was charged with criminal mischief and impairing the operation of a vital public utility. Both are felonies, and if convicted, Sled could face up to 16 years in prison.

Mysterious Metal Balls Rain Down From Sky Onto Multiple Villages in India

Multiple villages in India were pelted by mysterious metal balls that rained down from the sky in what is likely a case of space junk falling back down to Earth. According to a local media report, the odd incident unfolded over the course of two days last week and impacted at least seven neighboring communities across the Indian state of Gujarat. The rather sizeable spheres, which can be seen 'showcased' in the video above, weighed approximately 12 pounds each and measured around one-and-a-half feet in diameter.

While there were no injuries from the bizarre 'rainfall,' there was one unfortunate victim in the form of a lamb that just happened to be grazing in the wrong place at the wrong time. “There was a huge sound from the sky and blinding light," recalled a witness to the creature's demise, "I could not see anything but almost the next instant, there was a loud noise and I saw that a metal piece had fallen on a lamb. It was hot and killed the lamb instantly." As one might imagine, the falling balls caused something of a stir in the various villages and left many residents understandably wondering about the origins of the weird spheres.

Fortunately, it would seem that the mystery surrounding the baffling balls may wind up being short-lived as authorities enlisted experts from the Indian government to examine the spheres and they determined that they were likely space junk. Specifically, it was noted that the objects were "made of high-density metal alloys" of the kind used in rocket launches. Narrowing down the nature of the balls even further, a scientist from the Indian space agency indicated that the spheres appear to have been fuel storage tanks. An astronomer who tracks space debris was even able to identify where, exactly, the objects likely originated, pointing to a Chinese rocket that was expected to reenter the atmosphere at around the time of the 'rainfall.'

Sunbather is BITTEN by wild boar on packed Costa Brava beach: Moment the rampaging animal charges out of sea is caught on camera as onlookers scream and run for cover

Screenshot_20220604-071532.jpg

While it is not known how the animal ended up in the sea, it is thought to have come from the nearby Serra Gelada Natural Park, which consists of over 5,000 acres of coastline which stretches through the Benidorm, Alfaz del Pi and Altea regions. The boar rushed out of the water while tourists were sunning themselves and enjoying the weather. Lifeguards sounded the alarm as the wild animal ran around the beach in south Spain, terrorising the sunbathers. The boar collided with the woman and bit her, though it is not known whether the bite was intention, said medics who treated the injured woman at a local health centre.

Scientists accidentally create super-vicious HAMSTERS in a lab after gene editing experiment goes wrong and makes aggressive rodents chase, bite and pin each other down

Scientists inadvertently bred a horde of unusually aggressive hamsters after a gene editing experiment to 'reduce aggression' went wrong. Researchers at Georgia State University produced new rodents without hormone vasopressin in an effort to raise 'social communication' between the rodents.

Yet the chemical change turned the Syrian hamsters wild, prompting fights inside cages. The ultra-vicious hamsters were pictured pinning, biting and chasing each other.

58669911-10884147-image-m-2_1654329645764.jpg

Lead researcher Professor Elliott Albers said: 'We anticipated [...] we would reduce both aggression and social communication — but the opposite happened.'

The key hormone Avpr1a was thought to regulate friendship and bonding, with its removal expected to increase harmony between the animals. Instead, the lab experiment recorded 'high levels of aggression towards other same-sex individuals'.

Professor Albers said: 'We were really surprised at the results.' It was thought that vasopressin affects the social behaviours of hamsters including aggression and communication.

To investigate further, scientists deactivated Avpr1a, removing a receptor that interacts with vasopressin in key regions of the brain. Now immune to the hormone, it was thought the rodents would become friendlier.

The results were anything but, with a heightened frequency of fighting, biting, chasing and pinning down among the hamsters in their cages.

The study's striking conclusions challenge scientists' understanding of the relationship between biology and behaviour. The professor added: We don’t understand this system as well as we thought we did.

'The counterintuitive findings tell us we need to start thinking about the actions of these receptors across entire circuits of the brain, not just in specific brain regions.

'Developing gene-edited hamsters was not easy. But it is important to understand that the neurocircuitry involved in human social behaviour and our model has [...] relevance for human health.'

Professor Albers said the gene editing tests are intended to help find solutions to neuropsychiatric disorders including autism and depression.
