A man ran over people on a bike path in lower Manhattan. Between 2-6 people killed and 11-15 injured. The driver is in custody and he collided with a school bus. There were reports he fired a gun from the vehicle.

A man on Tuesday afternoon drove a pickup truck down a lengthy stretch of bike path next to the Hudson River in Lower Manhattan, striking numerous people. The vehicle collided with a school bus from Stuyvesant High School.

There were some reports the man fired gunshots from the truck, but officials could not immediately confirm that. The police said a suspect had been taken into custody.

Officials said as many as six people had been killed and 11 injured.

A large section of the West Side Highway was closed for the investigation as hundreds of officers, including the bomb squad, responded to the scene.

Yes this is a terrorist attack, 8 dead confirmed thus far, many injured including children, the bastard drove into a school bus with children in it...He had a paintball gun and was shot, he is under guard at a hospital...

  • Eight people are dead and 11 people are in hospital in a serious but non life-threatening condition
  • The truck driver has been named as 29-year-old Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov, a citizen of Uzbekistan who has addresses in Florida
  • He mounted the West Side Highway bike path at 3.05 pm on Tuesday afternoon at Houston Street
  • He then continued southbound for 17 blocks, mowing down pedestrians, runners and cyclists
  • He came to a stop when he crashed into a school bus at Chambers Street and then hopped out of the truck
  • The man was then seen brandishing two fake guns before being shot in the stomach by an NYPD officer
  • He survived and was taken to hospital where he now remains under the supervision of police

Baltimore news is reporting that the terrorist was driving in a rented Home Depot pickup truck and went into a bicycle path near the World Trade Center memorial... A pellet gun and paintball gun were recovered at the scene...

I think he hit at least three vehicles, one of the collisions may have lifted his truck before it hit that bus...?

The solution is pretty simple.

It is time to make it a capital offense to say "Allahu Akbar" ("I am a dumbshit" in arabic) in public.

There is absolutely no legitimate reason to say "Allahu Akbar" in public. I have gone my whole life without saying "Allahu Akbar".

These people can't go insane without saying it. So like yelling "fire" in a crowded theater, we should make the public utterance of Allahu Akbar illegal. And since people say it before the killing starts it should be a capital offense.

Further, we should pass legislation exempting any gun owner who kills someone who said "Allahu Akbar" from criminal or civil prosecution.

As Dundee often notes, the US is an armed camp. There is no reason not to use this strategic advantage to fight terrorism.

The location would've brought back bad memories for some people. All the sirens in the area, opening some old wounds.

They should've shot him a couple of more times. It isn't fair that 8 innocent people lost their lives, while this pos is in a hospital being treated.

Always sad seeing this sort of thing happen all over the world.

Also from Houston Street the bike area he turned next was on West Side Highway, the game is being played on the West Coast, and the Dodgers are a West Coast team...

But I don't know... I feel like this place would be more peaceful if Radical Islam didn't exist. Still haven't researched this event to see if it was a false flag or not though.

Rogues will always exist. Any rogue can yell utterances and have no clue what he is saying, and any rogue can inflict massive damage if he wanted...

This is the world we have lived in for thousands of years, it just gets alot more media attention now, and there are alot more people in the world, increasing the odds that a rogue will find some excuse to lash out... it is a type of sickness that will only become more noticable as the gobal population increases, thereby producing more chaos.

No we aren't.

2000 years ago if I suggested we throw moslem terrorists into a wood chipper (feet first) with 10 pounds of pig manure the locals would be "that's cool". After all Crucifixion was in fashion and American Indians were slow roasting their enemies over fire for several days.

Nowadays people would react negatively and people on the left would lie and say it is unconstitutional.

Constitution only bans cruel and unusual punishment so the key is meeting the "unusual" criterion.

I hate to say this, but DC has taken away a full lane from many streets for bike lanes making bad traffic much worse. Given this was a UBER driver this may have been a bike lane protest under the cover of terrorism.

Running over people isn't the best way to protest bike lanes but I understand his frustration.
