This is why you can’t put all your eggs in this backwards way of doing things. The system is so easy to disrupt. However, I will hand it to Buttigieg, you declare victory and move on.

I was watching last night until I fell asleep. Amy Klobuchar actually did this first and good for her. I don't know much about Mayor Pete but at least he can speak reasonably well and doesn't seem to pander to the inflammatory nonsense. It'll take him a couple of more election cycles to season properly before he'd ever get a real shot at it.

Buttigieg leads Iowa caucuses with 62 percent of the results counted

DES MOINES, Iowa — Pete Buttigieg is leading the Iowa caucuses with 62 percent of 99 counties reporting, the Iowa Democratic Party said at a briefing Tuesday afternoon, nearly an entire day after a smartphone app malfunction delayed the reporting of results.

Buttigieg earned 26.9 percent of the votes counted, followed by Sen. Bernie Sanders with 25.1 percent. Sen. Elizabeth Warren has so far earned 18.3 percent and former Vice President Joe Biden is in fourth place with 15.6 percent.

Iowa Democratic Party Chairman Troy Price called the delay “unacceptable,” and explained that the party had taken steps to “ensure the accuracy” of the results.

Price blamed a “coding error” with the smartphone app adopted this year for the delay in the results, but did not answer questions about when 100 percent of the results would be completed.

Anybody watching the State of the Union?

Nancy looks like she may actually leap forward and BITE Trump.

I’m going to throw out ‘tardive dyskinesia’ for Nancy. Seriously. My mother in law has it

That's how the state/establishment media is misreporting the facts. Here's the reality: with only 62% of the Iowa vote in, Sanders leads the popular vote by over 1000 votes, with Buttigieg (somehow) a close second, they say.

However, the DNC delegates leaned in favor of Buttigieg despite the popular vote, to give him the most state delegate votes. Just like they did all over the country for Clinton back in 2016.

And now the DNC is taking over the vote counting for Iowa. Not sketchy or suspicious at all.

    The undemocratic party strikes again.

Okay so this explains Buttigieg's weird and inexplicable surge in Iowa: his campaign is deeply invested in that app that everyone's been saying "malfunctioned" and which allowed him to score more delegate votes than Bernie, even though Bernie won the popular vote. It's weird to watch an entire political party commit suicide like this:

I normally can't stand Chris Matthews (or virtually any of the chattering heads) but surfing last night after the speech he cracked me up. Chris Matthews questions ‘viability’ of Dem Party: ‘Can’t even get a three-car funeral organized’

I'd never heard the phrase before and it fits.

    And Ian called it "stupid"..
ok he did not shake her offered hand..
After the hateful actions she did? After impeachment?
I would blow her off to!
It's clear Nancy Pelosi HATES him.
    But we have the cure..
    VOTE THEM OUT

Pelosi didn't introduce your President in the customary fasion. Kickstarter.

I'd watch her mental state as she seems to be cracking. But I guess she is gone and knows her career is soon to be in the past.

When you have nothing more to lose, ripping shit up can help but not in public.

Ever flip on a big commercial table saw and just feel it thrumming with power and you know that blade is just waiting to cut through whatever you feed it. Much like DT.

Add Pelosi to the long list of people that shouldn't have messed with that thing. Just ask Lyin' Ted and Little Marco. After all the venom in 2016 they now bend the knee with smiles on their faces.

I think Bernie's the only one who could step into the Octagon with DT and survive - at least in terms of being equally obnoxious.

I see Bernie as a genuine and true to his word guy, I just don't happen to agree with his political views, much like our Jeremy Communista, too far left and not where they need to be in order to stand a chance against the meat grinder.

I have to admit that Trump does have some annoying and yes obnoxious qualities but sometimes that is what is needed and rightly or wrongly I think people should be able to see past the man and see the difference being made.

Biden Is a man I take a natural strong dislike to.

    Slime.

So, they are jostling and manipulating for a person who is what they see as the best who can stand up to it and with what they are facing I can't say I blame them but I do enjoy watching the stooping low. Just on a side note of similarity our speaker is also going through media hell, it's uncanny.

It fascinates me that from a liberal stand point, a blindness to a self propagated failure is occurring, just beats me how no one saw it coming and was able to reign it in, having respect and accepting defeat is the first step to success but now they are living up to a German style approach.

    Allez oder nicht.

This is a real fate at work behind the scenes, I read an article years ago and I can't find it or recall who wrote it but it was a man who foretold of a global shift, after the Blair Bush era and he had it bang on. The will of the people can not only alter reality but also restore it.

The guy was an Arab and saw the domino effect that would cause the spring that occurred across Arabic nations, the rise and fall of a terror state and the closing of the Western world which would bring leaders from a more home grown variety.

Great week for a great leader.

I will say this much. The events of the past week have made it much easier for a Trump re-election victory. For some time I have felt that the Democrats are fielding a weak lineup. Maybe their strongest candidate is Bernie Sanders and I don’t believe he can win a general election being that far left (progressive as everyone like to label him.) I don’t see the country getting behind someone who wants to spend even more to improve the US.

This looks like a McGovern/Nixon general election replay. McGovern got trounced and we haven’t had a candidate that liberal since then. It also looks like more decisions by strict party line voting. Whether that leads to more gridlock remains to be seen. One group of voters will ultimately be very unhappy for the next few years.
