The Mid-Atlantic has suddenly plunged into a deep freeze. After unusually warm weather, we're supposed to be only about 5 degrees warmer than NYC on NYE. It could prove dangerous for all the drunks in the city Sunday night.
Tried to wash my car last night at the self-wash, and the water froze as soon as it went on. Was rinsing slush off the car with water that became new slush.
Car still has an icy glaze. Didn't see that happen last winter at all. High of 22F low of 12 F tonight. Weekend low is going to be single digits and Wednesday is going to be 6F.
That is about as cold as the DC area normally gets.

Up here in my neck of the woods you can't adapt to the cold snaps we get. I remember a few years ago it got to -50F with an -80 wind chill. You can't adapt to that. You just stay the hell inside. If you have to go out you have to make it as quick as possible or you will get frostbite in about 5 min.
