The end for Doctor Who.

I think with a series like Doctor Who, that becomes this serialized people tend to get caught up in the moment and see the series as either a success or failure. Hear me out, people will like or dislike whatever they want and even that will change over time or even with the times. But what's changed with doctor who essentially, most people aren't seeing is all the retconned continuity changes To the core canon of the doctor himself.

Almost every canon rule has been broken with the character. originally he was just a man from an alien planet who stole a ship and ran off to Earth with his granddaughter. later he was punished 'by " the timelords of Gallifrey to regenerate a certain number of lives banished to the earth until he had paid for his crime.. later, with the introduction of the master it was revealed that not only was the doctor a timelord, but the master was as well.. later still the doctor had regenerated well beyond his expected regeneration cycles so there were questions... I think the new guy is either the 14th or 15th doctor... so at one point or another, the gallery stuff just wasn't cutting it anymore because seemingly the doctor was as well beyond his own people as he was ordinary humans, completely outclassing and outwitting them and even saving their planet from a time war basically all by himself yet with all his incarnations at once.. it was truly epic.. anyway, now there is speculation that the doctor isn't Galifreian at all but rather an entity called the timeless child, an immortal entity who does not age and to recover from ailments and injury will regenerate, it was later revealed by the master that the Galifreians more or less found the doctor and experimented on him to get their own version of regeneration by backward genetic engineering his genome. basically, timelords are the people resulting from these genetic experiments.. like the Master for example. however, the doctor is different, being the timeless child and all.. functionally immortal...

new stuff to watch out for.. this regeneration is kind of interesting.. with two doctors and two Tardises you know that's gonna come into play eventually. don't forget that Master will be back, as the gold tooth containing him was mysteriously retrieved at the end there.. Also, the toy maker made a reference to an entity he feard to play a game with and the doctor questioned him about it, The One Who Waits... whoever it is must be epic if the toymaker will capture the Master and face two doctors at once but won't face that guy...

So far the new doctor seems like a likable guy.. I'm all in so far...

politics yuck lol, gonna rant about politics for a second,, forgive me..

I Do see the problem with the political stance though... its sad that they still want to push a message that is so divisive. I look at politics in this way, if someone doesn't agree with my political views, how is that possible? because I never discuss them openly ;) it is not a freedom issue or a fear issue. it's that, in this society, just to have an opinion means having to defend that point of view. so why share a controversial opinion just to have to debate it when the original opinion on that topic is fluid and changing anyway? ultimately, debating politics is a somewhat limiting exercise. One either agrees with or caves to their opponent, or they are vilified or canceled. so my point is, why debate politics when the whole exercise of politics is simply to control someone else's opinion?

I've always been secure enough in my own opinions that I dont require debating them with others. I mean in the political sense anyway.
Besides, when was the last time someone heard a political opinion they actually agreed with?

I wanted to post this here, I have all the major streaming services and I can tell you, that you have to subscribe to BBC to get the episodes legally.. that said, what's an American fan supposed to do? Outside of some VPN voodoo or subscribing to BBC for the sake of a single show? that
that site has them all, the new ones anyway.

Ok "church on Ruby road." The doctor is back. The fun is back. It's a joy filled romp. Fun and the musical number was fun. But also back is the "woke " message. I'm not happy with that. The doctor is no longer a self absorbed twit. No politics or games. Enjoyable fare
6.5/10

A lot of people are complaining about the new doctor, sighting woke sentimentality. I honestly dont understand woke culture. everyone is sick of it, but at the same time, no one speaks about what good has come from woke culture.. I've truly seen ignorant people reform because they realized their ignorance. obese people are no longer shamed at mass for not fitting the same cookie cutter as everyone else. people aren't turning fat kids away at the door on Halloween thinking somehow they are the shining light to save a child's life because they are the person that destroyed their holiday, people needed to see the ugliness and recognize it as ugly.. if there wasn't a woke culture. the world would be so much harsher. forums wouldn't be about intellectual debate, it would be a popularity contest of who could insult one another the harshest. yeah, woke has become too extreme and people are rightfully sick of how twisted and corrupted it has become because it's run rampant.

but we live in a society where the average person understands that just because a person is Muslim doesn't make them a terrorist.

enough of my prattling.. I like the new doctor, he seems like a moral honest emotionally unrestricted person, someone who is passionate about being alive,.. I think it's a pretty fresh take on a doctor who is usually so burdened by his emotional baggage. if people can stop getting all caught up in what's been and what could be and just let this character grow. I'm interested to see where it goes..

I've been done with Doctor Who since Jodie Whitaker and this new Doctor has eroded the series even more...They used David Tennant as a carrot in the recent Special to pull in nostalgia fans and gain viewing ratings, nothing more...Yet another wonderful show gutted and laid ruined...

I don't know, I mean, I think the series might be due for a real comeback. Time will tell on that one. Still, it's not just doctor who. Science Fiction as an entire genre seems to have all but died.. none the less, I'm gonna give this new who a chance. I gotta have something sci-fi lol

It's obvious that she was fired. It looks like they had 2 or 3 season story arc that got flushed. They fired her suddenly and she must have done something major to cause it.

I don't really understand the contraversy over her, she was only in a couple episodes. I mean it's not like we lost the next bad Wolf . That said, you know, the bad Wolf story may be over, but it was imprinted all over space and time, honestly Rose could have had more story... Even though there is a plot hole big enough to fit her in there, I doubt she will ever return.. for me as a who fan, it's been years, I just want more doctor who.

Black 'Doctor Who' condemns celebration of 'White mediocrity' while 'we have to be absolutely flawless'

Ncuti Gatwa, the first Black "Doctor Who," complained, "There’s so much White mediocrity that gets celebrated," in a new interview.

Gatwa, an LGBTQ Rwandan immigrant to the U.K., spoke out about a variety of identity-related grievances as the cover model of the "best-selling gay magazine" Attitude for its May/June issue.

When asked about whether he received backlash for being cast as the Doctor, who has primarily been played by White men throughout the decades, he responded that his critics need a better hobby, but also suggested his casting is part of a global shift, "[W]e do see a shift happening in casting, in positions of power and in the status quo. I mean, not a fast shift, things could tip over the other way a little bit quicker, but you see people kind of malfunctioning because things are changing."

"Doctor Who" is a BBC funded show that traces all the way back to the 1960s, with multiple actors playing different incarnations of the time-traveling character known as "the Doctor" as he goes on various sci-fi adventures. The latest iteration of this longstanding franchise has been widely criticized for catering to identity politics.
