I am curious Guys, How do we know for certain, that any of the beings we have ever encountered are the actual beings we are truly dealing with? What I mean is, How do we know for certain, that what we are witnessing isn't what they want to allow us to see? As it was stated in this Thread, These beings could be so alien, That our very nature would oppose their presence, And yeah, Some people could say, Well, It wouldn't matter if they looked like octopus spiders, We would accept them.

    Some people would yes.

But, there are ways a being could look, That we humans could just not accept, Ways that we may even react violently to. What if they Truly did look like Bugs? Or snakes? Or Something, we humans, have evolved to naturally detest? What if, What we are seeing in these crafts, Are all Hybrids, Because the real aliens look like this?

Ghost hunters would caution you about accepting whoever it is as whoever it is they say they are.

Admittedly, if the representative of an ancient and wise species showed up near me looking like that I'd step on it. Or run away shrieking like an eight year old girl. Or both, probably.

I agree, My thing is, I'm still hung up on the whole, No one invited them here thing, and if there is any truth at all to the numerous abduction stories. Heck, even if a small percentage of those abductions stories only had a small percentage of truth to them, Then those aliens would still have been here in an invasive capacity. Their presence wreaks of malevolence, In my opinion honestly.

Interesting, I never thought about it that way. We do the same thing to other species on this planet because we are studying them and don't worry about how they feel when they wake up with a radio transmitter bolted to their ear, or whatever

Maybe they aren't bothering too much with direct communication because they see no reason to. Maybe we need a Pleadian Jane Goodall to take an interest in us.

This is long, I'm sorry bro.

It's true, there is a parallel in there about how we treat the beings we study, And I admit, To a small amount of Healthy hypocrisy in my views about them, At that same time though. We have both heard a lot of abduction stories, There are some positive experiences in the piles of reports. Truthfully, Their actions on a morality scale may be justified. I urge though those people never blur the lines too far, regardless of morality, Or justification, Or even cause and effect. They are still them, And we are still we. I question, How could they, Based upon their purported actions toward us. Their indifference, Their willingness to snatch people and sometimes their families too, up, And sometimes those people seem traumatized by the events. I would Urge, That people Study the aftermath of an abductees experience.

I can only quote a few examples, Stanten Friedman, Who later in life came to view his experiences as something rather traumatizing, As did Travis Walton, And Betty and Barney hill. I admit, many people will have mixed feelings concerning the examples I've cited here, And that's fair, but they are prolific examples. They also share one common link, Each of these stories, seem to catwalk the line of a horrific experience. Sure, We may be nothing but Ants or even microbes to those beings, But the sense that those people were helpless, and even traumatized, With experimentation, forced upon them without consent.

It's worrisome, I believe Stephen Hawking was right on this one Call. See a lot of people respect Stephen hawking, However, His main claim to fame was he continued Einstein's work. So many regarded him with more reverence than he ever earned. However, He was a smart man, He said. "One day, we might receive a signal from a planet like this," Hawking Said" referring to the potentially habitable alien planet Gliese 832c. "But we should be wary of answering back. Meeting an advanced civilization could be like Native Americans encountering Columbus."

Stephen Hawking's Most Intriguing Quotes on Aliens, Women and the Future of Humanity

Relationships are chemistry. Alien biology, in my opinion, wouldn't be able to really interact with us, in the ways we presume. If a being is truly alien, How would they understand nuances like Anger, happiness, Humor, Or moral issues, Like, Don't kill johnny with a Wiffle bat because he's stealing your newspaper? I feel like, For an alien, How could an extraterrestrial being, Be here for an agreeable cause? Their morality, Sociality, integrability, temperament, would all come into question.

How could we socialize meaningfully with beings who aren't human? Even if they learned how, Or we learned how, How could it ever really occur? I mean, we don't socialize with squirrels, We can like squirrels, But we can never, join a squirrel community and Bond with the squirrels socially. I think we would encounter the same issues, With aliens. even intelligent ones.

We wouldnt, basically if they have high technology they could probably make constructs or proxies to interact with us. Or perhaps some sort of holographic disguises, or mind manipulation. So they could appear how ever they would wish. The real thing could be a weird monster or a hyper advanced machine, or a combination.

Or the opposite could be true, what we see is what there is, there is convergent evolution theory after all. Lifeforms tend to evolve to similar forms, so a humanoid form could be seen as effective for an intelligent life, instead of a 10 limbed monstrosity. If theres no need for extra limbs or eyes, they wont evolve. Look at the land based animals here on earth for example, aside from insects or arachnids what do you have: 2 eyes, 2 ears, nose, 4 limbs, basic configuration, its simple and it works. Worked since the ancient times with dinosaurs. Basic things needed for an intelligent life form are that theyre able to move, have grasping and manipulating appendages and communication, able to say ideas. Humanoid form is the simplest one for this, 2 hands for manipulating, 2 legs for motion.

So instead of your picture, maybe things like that are the exception, not the rule, maybe Star Wars has it more right:

Or we could have humanoids who deceive us showing different kind of humanoids.

So in effect, any one could be true, we dont know.

By default we anthropomorphize everything and have no way to know how we can interact, only how we'll respond. You'd like to think any culture advanced enough to be here in the first place would have some basis of communication, like math. But that's a human idea and we just have no way to know at this point if it would be shared.

I think Barney Hill was traumatized alright - but by Betty not aliens. Dr.Simon's use of hypnotherapy came from his experiences treating what we'd now call PTSD and importantly, he's a contemporary 'first person' actor in the story not commenting decades later. And he wasn't looking for an abductee, he just wanted to help two people who were obviously traumatized by something. He didn't think it was ET and I have come to agree with him. Hard to listen to those tapes though.

Don't believe Travis Walton but like the movie.

I have a Jim Lovell interview stuck in my head where he commented on looking back at the Earth from lunar orbit and covered up the whole of humanity with his thumb. He had a sense of perspective few have ever experienced - of the yawning emptiness we exist in and how fragile life on our planet really is. I just can't help but think that we aren't the subject of the amount of external attention that we think we are and that the overwhelming majority of what we go on here about - whether it's abduction of nuts & bolts sightings - is a part of the human condition not some outside influence.

Mediums do it all the time, they channel whomever and when an alleged entity starts to talk they take it at its word, almost without question...

Some seem to have the appearance of insects, lizards, toads, etc. just read the wide variety of contact reports over the last 60 years...It's like the earth has a smaller sample of these creatures living somewhere in the forest, jungles, or backyard...

Could this appearance be an illusion though, maybe they look even more repulsive to our senses than we could ever imagine and appearing to us with the face of a tree frog is supposed to put us at ease...

It seems like the general consensus is in agreement about this, Whether they are deceiving our eyes or not, Beings that advanced could easily appear to us as anything they wanted. You make a good point about the similarities to insects and reptiles too. I mean, why would they appear so hominid like, As the greys do, So lizard-like as the reptilians do and so insect-like as those praying mantis kind do. I wonder if, The illusionary part of it, Takes place in our Brains? In our eyes? or if they are actually altering their appearance? Which do you guys think is the better likelihood?

The more thought given to this to more likely the case for some species...Consider for a moment a billion year old species, so far beyond our comprehension in the terms of knowledge and technology but what if their appearance is beyond anything we could think of, so remotely alien to us...Would we even recognize them as an intelligent species if we truly saw them as they really appear or would we be completely repulsed by their appearance?...Perhaps they use holographic disguises or avatars to interact with other lesser species, perhaps they see themselves so far above us they have no desire to interact with the likes of humans directly or could really even care less about us...They may have seen so many species comes and go after a billion years that we could be truly insignificant to them, they may even have other species doing their bidding in their stead...

I do think its more of a Star Wars scenario, in regards to the bizarre types of species seen in those movies, we have found so many types of star systems and planets, I think evolution has adapted and developed a wide variety of creatures and intelligent lifeforms...Earth itself is a great example with the wide variety of lifeforms, I think this is exactly what is out there in the galaxy...

The common theme seems more evolved biological beings have an ability to send an image into a targets mind depicting how they want to appear. If the viewer knew he was being deceived he could demand to see their true form. They might do that or just reveal their reptilian/dinosaur looking eye(s). A reptilian in a small group of people could mentally project "See me as you see each other." An observe at a distance would see the reptilian as if the ability has a particular range. In 'The Art of War' is says "All warfare is based on deception." Under the holographic universe theory all things would be based on deception.

Some of these ufo related theories are certainly taking steps backward and flirting with dark age mentality with all this talk of gods and demons and spooky magic...

Theres still people who like the Loki theory it seems. To me, unlikely.

As for Vallees 5 reasons against ET, heres some counter arguments to those.

I've wondered if there have been attempts at communication that we have misinterpreted. To me the Loki or Trickster God always sounded like we were interacting with ourselves, or some version or reflection of ourselves. Maybe an outside contact triggered a response and a lot of weird things we talk about are symptoms of that.

You know, like if you were a whale and heard some nonsense babble language being blasted at you by well meaning biologists. They might not be able to understand why you react the way you do when confronted with that. You might not necessarily understand your own response - but there it is.

To really speculate, wouldn't telepathy as you mentioned solve quite a few problems in terms of travel? We have no way to know what form alien technology would take. Assuming it was a real capability, wouldn't something like a quantum-entangled phone call be better than having to get in your shiny silver disk and drive there? Maybe ET is phoning US and we don't know how to answer.
