My Sony AM/FM radio that I've had for about fifteen years died today. I was getting strange popping sounds in the headphones then it just conked out. I'm now using a Jensen pocket radio. It has ten presets as opposed to five, but the sound quality isn't as good.

I have the same gizmo. But for the past 6-7 years, I almost never listen to the radio.
For music and podcasts, I listen to an iPod, which I know is practically obsolete at this point. :blush8:

It's a quiet Sunday morning here at home, I'm still kind of laying down lol, just being lazy on the couch with a strong thunderstorm on the way...This storm should clear up all the pollen out the trees and definitely will saturate the garden plots well so I can till the soil one more time in a couple days...

I have an apple tree that's about 150 years old so I'm told, and it still produces small green apples...Well, we had a strong thunderstorm come through here before sunrise this morning and it took down a big branch from the apple tree...The branch was mostly dead anyway, I would have cut it down eventually, but I'm thinking now the tree has more resources available to other parts of itself since it doesn't have that branch any longer, I wonder now if the apples will be different as a result or maybe a better yield...I ate a few of its apples last year, a couple were slightly bitter but green apples can be bitter, others were more neutral, not sweet but not bitter and have a good flavour...

If you have direct deposit (retired and getting social security money) you should be some of the first to see your funds. My wife and I received our $2400 late last week. We need a new washer and dryer but all the stores are closed locally except for the big box stores. I am not fond of Lowes or Home Depot so it seems we will wait it out until the government gives us the clear sign. I don’t expect that to happen for many months from now.

My poor sister-in-law is still in the hospital from a burst appendix. My take is that they did laparoscopic procedures and botched them up a couple of times. Her intestines were pinched and her white blood cell count was sky high. Some doctor finally decided to cut her open and see what exactly was going on. On the third try it looks like they finally got it right.

This BS took place at a hospital I had my back surgery done and I am quit sure they screwed that up as well. Unfortunately, now is not the best time to be stuck in a hospital. If all goes well for her it will be an additional week to recover and then finally escape that medieval torture chamber.

Maybe that's nature's way of mutating plant life. o_O

I received my stimulus deposit today, within the past two hours. :smile2:

I'm glad for those who are on the receiving end of helicopter payments where needed. Our lads are too worried about being turned over by those who will abuse the system. For some time I have wondered about the amount of cyber crime here in the UK and whether we are scam heavy in comparison to others. For sure it seems so in the last few years and i'm not at all sure but see the push for 5G as in some way as a force to tackle the problem.

I`ve had three days off and an hour or so each day i have went out and messed with my driveway culvert. Along our narrow streets in our area we have ditches that most people including me have neglected. I was amazed i was able to clean my culvert under my drive. There was water couple of feet deep and 4 feet up into my yard. The culverts were buried and had to dig to find them, they look like 8in round clay pipe. after i found and cleaned around them and as far as i could into, i took a 7 foot fiberglass tube and shoved into it cleaning it like taking soil samples out and sure enough the water started flowing.took all but 5 minutes for all the water standing in my ditch to flow down and up into a neighbors house 2 houses down. thing is it will fill back up in no time i`m afraid, unless i dig the rest of the ditch out, 75ft in front and 150ft along the side. besides were it flows to will back up and reduce the velocity through mine and it will collect sediment, blah blah..i thought i`d fill in my ditch to above street level and forget about it, but i`m not sure it really needs a ditch. so after i got it cleaned i was hoping for rain to see how it worked and we got snow today of course...
