There you go making an assumption. Can you be certain it wasn't a Sasquatch?
Well now, you got me thinking and also remembering...There was a time over 15 years ago I was in that same area in the mountains, camping alone, no dog, no machete, no hatchet, just a knife under my pillow whilst I slept in my tent...A noise of some sort woke me and I heard movement outside my tent, sticks breaking, something walking around and it wasn't too small in size from the sounds of it...I could hear it breathing to my right as it passed around my tent...
It didn't sound like a bear, not a coyote, not even a panther, I was getting worried because it sounded too big to peek my head out and have a look and I could not fathom what this creature might be...It moved around my tent while I sat there in the center inside my tent with my knife in my hand, I was trembling a little with concern...It walked around to the front of my tent and stopped...I could hear it breathing at the door of my tent, it wasn't a man, it was an animal no doubt, but it just sat there breathing so I sat there clutching my knife, sweating and trembling...
Hours go by, I start to doze off a few times but fight hard to stay awake, I never heard it move away from my tent so I sat there all night, I didn't make a sound and listened intently and waited for this creature to do something...Hours go by and I see the sunlight brightening the sky, sunrise was here and still nothing, this thing had no moved...So with light of the sun coming up I decided to go for it and unzip my tent, opening the entrance of my tent I see nothing, it was gone...This animal had slipped out during the night, I did not hear it leave...There were impressions in the grass of something that had been there but it was thick grass and did not see tracks...To this day I have no idea what that animal could have been, possibly a bear or panther, we have those in the mountains too, I don't know...
