I heard it allowed us to develop time travel and also a particle beam weapon. All I know is the experiment that the USS Eldridge was part of was a success.

From all the written material I have read on it...no.
They were trying to generate an energy field that they were hoping would make Eldridge invisible to sonar and radar.

you can call it disillusioned if you want but to me believing something is possible just because someone tells you a story; with absolutely no proof what so ever IS imo 'fantasy'.. but i guess it is a matter of opinion

I was trying to point out to you the need for people to be active on such stories to either verify they are made up or that they are not.
Not enough effort goes into it.
