When you have 600+ pound kitty kats roaming around, and hyenas, why would you need a "Nandi Bear" to scare people.

There is no animal with bilateral symmetry that has one eye.

It does look like some kind of science experiment gone wrong. lol

Like the mix of baboon, hyena, bear, and maybe even sloth. The claws remind me of a sloth. :)

One eyed bear with odd fur coloration and mole claws.

The tooth pattern is bear with slightly longer incisors.

    Sloths have two eyes.

Sloths are only in South America (and migrated to North America after the merge.)

The heaviest version of the sloth is about 17 pounds.

Yes, okay, I get what you are saying, CasualBystander. If you read my original post, you will see that the reason I am reminded of a sloth is because of the claws. Just, the claws.

I also agree with you when you mention that no mammal has one eye in the center of it's forehead.

IIRC, moles don't have any eyes, right? lol

In the write up it mentions that scientists believe it may be spotted hyenas but, hyenas do not attack prey by jumping out of trees. So, there's that. Also, IIRC hyenas are animals of opportunity. They rarely actually hunt. They usually steal from other successful hunters.

Between its shape, coloring and size its most likely a hyena.
