I don't have Netflix anymore, but somebody might find this worth watching.

Not a diametric polarity, but regular folk seem to like it more than the refined professionals.

I have Netflix and saw that show advertised on the app last night...Not sure if I'll watch it or not, been a long time since I watched any stand-up comedy shows, the last one I saw was a Dave Chappell show...

Bill Maher quizzes Bernie Sanders on woke 'equity' language, senator unsure of definition: 'I don't know'

Senator and avowed socialist Bernie Sanders struggled to explain the difference between "equity" and "equality" on HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher" Friday night, in an exchange that has gone viral online.

Maher pressed Sanders, author of the book "It’s OK to Be Angry About Capitalism," to give his stance on the debate.

"Are we confusing equality of opportunity with trying to guarantee equity in outcomes?" Maher asked his guests.

"I think this word ‘equity’ has come into the language in the last few years and before that we didn’t hear it a lot. And I think a lot of people hear ‘equity’ and they hear ‘equality’ like it’s the same word, but it’s not the same word and the same concept," Maher explained.

"So how would you differentiate between equity and equality?" he asked Sanders. "Well equality, we talk about – uh, I don’t know what the answer to that is," Sanders said to laughter.

"Equality is equality of opportunity," he added in an attempt to define one of the terms.

Maher continued to push Sanders on the exact definition.

"Equity, I think, is more of a guarantee of outcome, is it not?" Maher said, interrupting Sanders. "Yeah, I think so," Sanders said.

"Which side do you come down on?" Maher asked Sanders, again pressing him on the issue. "Equality," Sanders responded.

Newsom sounds more like the extremist...

...

'We're done!': Gavin Newsom says California 'won't be doing business' with Walgreens over its abortion pill stance and slams the company for 'cowering to extremists'

California's governor pledged not to do business with Walgreens after the nation’s second-largest retail pharmacy barred selling abortion pills in 20 states that prohibit the procedure and the necessary medication for it.

Gavin Newson announced the decision on Monday in a tweet that read, 'We're done,' following the company's decision last week.

The move comes after Walgreens received pressure from anti-abortion lawmakers not to carry the drug, Mifepristone, which makes up half of the combination used to induce an abortion.

'California won't be doing business with @walgreens - or any company that cowers to the extremists and puts women's lives at risk,' Newsom tweeted.

A spokesperson for Newsom added that the state is re-evaluating its relationship with the retail pharmacy.

'We will not pursue business with companies that cave to right wing bullies pushing their extremist agenda or companies that put politics above the health of women and girls,' Brandon Richards told CNBC.

It is unclear if California will close Walgreens across the state.

This is already considered illegal so why bother? You can write all the legislation you like, people will still discriminate. This isn't about the sudden height epidemic we have, it's all the lard asses that have developed. To the point where they have to lower entrance exams for first responders.

New NYC bill could prohibit weight discrimination

New NYC bill could prohibit weight discrimination

Mar 01, 2023, 9:42amUpdated on Mar 01, 2023
By: John Tejada

A new bill, introduced by Council Member Shaun Abreu could limit discrimination based on height or weight.
Organizers braved the snowfall and gathered on the steps of City Hall to support NYC Anti-Weight, Discrimination Bill Tuesday morning.
If passed, Abreu said bill INT 0209 would prohibit discrimination on the basis of a person’s height or weight in opportunities for employment, housing, and access to public accommodations.
“Tens of millions of people are unjustly discriminated against because of their appearance, whether that is because of their height, weight, or hairstyle,” Abreu said from the podium. “Body shaming denies people necessary, even lifesaving medical treatment contributes to financial inequality, and creates serious mental health challenges.”
The rally was hosted by The Campaign for Size Freedom, a collaboration with Dove, National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance (NAAFA), and the Fat Legal Advocacy, Rights, and Education Project (FLARE Project).
“New York is about to make history, as one of the very few places in the entire world that has legal protections against size discrimination,” said Tigress Osborn, board chair of the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance. “We are thrilled to have the support of Council Member Abreau and all 30 of this bill's co-sponsors to help us pass this bill today.”
The groups aim to end size discrimination by improving legal protections and shifting cultural narratives about body size through education, advocacy, and corporate social responsibility.
“If appearance-based discrimination is left unprotected and unchecked continued adverse consequences within employment, housing will further tear apart the diverse beautiful mosaic of individuals that make this city truly great,” said Shaun Abreu.

US Air Force goes on woke hiring spree that'll see multiple Diversity, Equity and Inclusion managers hired for up to $180,000 a year

The US Air Force is hiring a team of diversity, equity and inclusion managers on salaries of up to $180,000 per year.

As the United States faces growing threats from China and Russia - highlighted by the downing of an American drone by Moscow forces yesterday - Air Force chiefs are creating plum jobs to achieve their 'inclusion mission' at home.

One senior role at the Pentagon, advertised earlier this month, pays up to $183,500 per year. The 'supervisory diversity equity inclusion and accessibility officer' will be responsible for making top-level decisions about the Air Force's diversity policies.

Several more similar vacancies are open at military bases across the country with salaries starting at $80,000. Applicants will work under the Air Force's director of diversity and inclusion, Marianne P. Malizia, whose remit is 'ensuring a culture of inclusion'.

Critics of the diversity push say the strength of America's military during a time of heightened international tensions 'is being threatened by a left-wing woke agenda' and called the agenda 'disturbing'.

I'm used to old class war division to left and right.

But this American "woke" division is more division on sane and insane ;-).

Some people clearly confused culture and economy, which operate on two mutually exclusive principles.

Essentially I thought that uneducated people are threat to their own society. But now I can see that educated people can destroy resources just by spending money on the first class baloney.

Professor claims organized pantries are rooted in ‘racist and sexist’ social structures

The recent TikTok trend of showing off perfectly organized and styled home pantries is rooted in a history of classist, racist and sexist social structures, according to one Chicago professor.

Through her research at Loyola University, Associate Professor of Marketing Jenna Drenten noticed a recent uptick in what she calls "pantry porn," a plethora of social media videos where women show off their fully stocked kitchen and methodically organized home supplies.

While minimalist designs used to represent an anti-consumption mindset of using less and buying less, the "new minimalism," according to Drenten, means "more is more," so long as it is not dirty or cluttered.

Historically, Drenten says that tidiness is intertwined with status and a person’s messiness often breeds assumptions about a person’s capacity to be responsible and respectable.

"Cleanliness has historically been used as a cultural gatekeeping mechanism to reinforce status distinctions based on a vague understanding of ‘niceness’: nice people, with nice yards, in nice houses, make for nice neighborhoods," Drenten writes. "What lies beneath the surface of this anti-messiness, pro-niceness stance is a history of classist, racist and sexist social structures."

Tracing the pantry to the late 1800s, Drenten says the butler’s pantry acted as an architectural touchstone of the wealthy.

"This small space, tucked between the kitchen and dining room, was a marker of status – an area to hide both the food and the people who prepared it," Drenten writes.

Drenten, citing her research, claims these viral videos of uniformly labeled and symmetrically placed supply bins, ingredient containers and shelves are created by predominantly White women and act as a "new status symbol" for what it looks like to maintain a "nice" well-kept home.

"Perhaps it’s not surprising that pantry porn found its foothold during the COVID-19 pandemic, when shortages in the supply chain surged," she adds. "Keeping stuff on hand became a symbol of resilience for those with the money and space to do so."

Drenten also claims this "pantry porn" obsession also sets the societal standard for an ideal mother, wife or woman.

"Pantry porn, as a status symbol, relies on the promise of making daily domestic work easier. But if women are largely responsible for the work required to maintain the perfectly organized pantry, it’s critical to ask: easier for whom?" Drenten adds.

Eighty-five percent of large new homes in America built today feature a walk-in pantry, listed as the most desirable kitchen feature for new homebuyers, according to a 2019 report. Drenten credits, at least in part, the Kardashian-Jenner family, the Hadids and other social media influencers for turning the pantry into a "modern-day status symbol."

Secretary of Health says changing kids' genders has 'highest support' of the Biden administration and is key to the mental health of minors

Transgender Assistant Secretary of Health Rachel Levine says that gender-affirming care for minors has the 'highest support' of the Biden administration. Levine has promised that medically changing children's gender will soon be normalized praising the controversial medical intervention which has been banned in several states at the Paediatric Grand Rounds Session at Children's Medical Center in Hartford. Levine was invited to speak at the event about the Florida Parental Rights in Education law and the political implications of gender reassignment surgery taking place at children's hospitals.

The great trans BACKFIRE: How Biden administration's push to normalize gender changes for kids flies in face of new science, public opinion, red state laws and European allies

(Excerpt)

Many critics of gender-affirming care in the US point to recent policy shifts in Europe, where health chiefs in several countries have backtracked after carrying out their own policy reviews.

Britain's health service recently decided to close the country's only gender identity clinic for children, after a damning review and a slew of allegations by former staff and patients about rushing young people onto treatment.

A major Swedish clinic in 2021 stopped giving puberty blockers and hormones to children, and Finland's health chiefs decided that psychotherapy, not drugs and hormones, should be the first-line treatment for gender-dysphoric youngsters.

Finland's top transgender treatment expert, Dr. Riittakerttu Kaltiala, last month said 'four out of five' teens who question their gender come to accept their bodies if they don't receive medical intervention.

A recent study by the medical watchdog, Do No Harm, found that the US has more lenient policies on chemical and surgical sex change services for children when compared against 11 European allies.

Researchers found that the US offers more legal and medical access to gender transition services for kids, such as clinics, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries, in some cases without parental consent.

Dr Stanley Goldfarb, who campaigns against radical gender ideology and other 'wokery' in healthcare and contributed to the report, said there was a growing body of evidence showing that Levine's comments on trans care were 'wrong and must be countered.'

'There is no good evidence that children treated with gender-altering hormones or puberty blockers have improved mental health assessments,' Dr Goldfarb told Fox News.

I'm just expanding on the drift I picked up recently on how "educated" liberals waste resources by providing fake solutions.

This is one of several videos I found where scientists, who are all for green energy, explain that current green energy sources, like solar panels and windmills are actually "dirty". Actually, one of the greenest technologies is nuclear energy.

Clean is relative and the cost of failure awfully high. I was a kid and remember being scared ****less when Three Mile Island was happening. Indian Point has been shut a while and I can't say I am sorry to see it go. Nuclear plants are great but you wouldn't want your sister to marry one, right? In 2000 IP let out a big radioactive fart and I heard the sirens booming up through the river valley like Gideon's Trumpet, Scary.

The Japanese are in a unique position to have an opinion on this. They are dealing with practical solutions to their energy crisis and generally lack sufficient resources and are heavily dependent of imports. In this crisis other considerations had to take a back seat. As I recall, these are same the folks who as a society decided that older people can eat the food that was contaminated with radioactivity as they likely would not live long enough to suffer the effects thereby sparing younger people and fully utilizing the food sources available. That sort of thinking is alien to us - we're yammering about reparations, pronouns and running to buy new electric gadgets we mistakenly think will help with .... something. it will, enriching and enabling the Chinese who own our leadership.

Interesting to note that after Fukushima the government that went in the direction of eliminating nuclear sources got voted out of office and one more amenable to it is in. They're also building a number of coal fired plants to fill in their need.

By backing a group that believes boyhood should be 'fluid' and families have become 'gender factories', Prince Harry and Meghan have just joined the war on men plaguing our society. Their woke extremism is dangerous

Given their proclivity to aligning with woke movements, it was probably only a matter of time before Harry and Meghan joined the gender extremists.

But today’s revelation that the Sussexes are throwing their weight behind an organisation who describe the very concept of boyhood as ‘fluid’ and ‘socially constructed’ in an out and out attack on ordinary families is terrifying nonetheless.

As the couple’s true agenda is gradually revealed, it’s becoming obvious that destroying the British Royal Family is only the start of their ambition of a hard left Californian revolution of western society.

A big part of that agenda is erasing so-called toxic masculinity, which is slowly morphing into a general war on men and boys plaguing our society.

The couple’s Archewell foundation says it is ‘investing in gender equity’ via the so-called Global Boyhood Initiative on a guide for ‘promoting gender equity by fostering positive masculinity in boys and men’.

So far so woke.

However, it is only when you pull the bonnet up on the organisation that you discover just how radical their aims are.

The activist organisation, which is, somewhat worryingly, already working in UK schools via a curriculum pilot, asks primary school kids to question what they describe as ‘gender norms’ which are ‘not tied to sex organs’.

While it is becoming clear that Harry has been emasculated, most likely out of choice, throughout the course of his relationship with Ms Markle, that doesn’t mean hapless schoolboys should do the same.

But that’s just the start of this nonsense.

In a report called The State of UK Boys, published last year, the group goes to war with families and schools for acting as ‘gender and heterosexuality factories’.

It specifically takes aim at ‘white, middle-class, heterosexual masculinity’ as a so-called ‘structuring norm’.

Parents are even attacked for ‘gendering’ their unborn children ‘based on the identification of external genitalia in scans, including through elaborate “gender reveal” parties and a stream of purchases along gender lines’.

So that’s right, according to Harry and Meghan’s new pals, simply expressing your happiness on social media that you’re expecting a little boy or a girl, makes you part of the problem.

I’d love to know at what age they think it’s appropriate for a parent to decide they are indeed raising a young boy or young girl.

After birth, there is criticism of assuming that boys or girls are ‘naturally predisposed to behave in particular ways’, with the phrase ‘boys will be boys’ coming in for particular criticism.

It would be ludicrous to suggest this sort of rhetoric was not infecting our education system.

Because that’s exactly what the Global Boyhood Initiative wants to do, with the aim for school students aged between seven and 11 being educated about ‘the role gender norms play in their lives through activity-based questioning and critical reflection’.

They’ll also be asked to ‘internalise these new gender attitudes and norms by applying them in their relationships and lives’.

What the hell would this do to our kids?

And why on earth are Harry and Meghan associating themselves with an organisation clearly about indoctrination rather than education?
