The Right to be Cloned

They say its illegal to clone Humans - And who are these guardians of Humanity to deny you the right to at least a temporary taste of immortality?

I am tired and I am old but not quite ready to check-out, not while the technology exists today for a fully functional duplicate me, in a younger new body, to replace the old age decaying me - I want to come back
and start all over.

Science fiction you say? - No its not - we can do it now - Today - We can jump off the matrix of the mortal and jump into the realm of the immortal.

Are you ready Human - ready to see what it means to be immortal - Ready to be young again?

Sure....but the memories won't come with you.
Yes, that 'might' be a problem

For the moment, and until prven one way or the other, I could site you many occult traditions that delved into the trasfer of consciousness - But can it be done? Can the conscious self be transferred over?

In a debate I was having on another issue {conscious AI/computers}, I came across, and more and more believe in the old philosophical concept of 'Pan-Psychism' the theory that consciousness is universal - It is not solely the property of the Human psyche. {some modern scientists accept this}

Remains to be seen - to be proven - true. I'd gamble on it - And after all after the clone is created we could find out it it is possible.

I read where they are prepping a man for the first human head transplant. I believe that they have already located a donor body...but wouldn't cloning be simpler and safer?

Neither case would be simple - As far as we know neither the technology to clone a Human being or to transfer a head has been perfected - BUT this type of thing might be done privately, assuming you have enough money to pay for it.

What might be even more promising, and currently being offered by a Russian businessman.........

32 year-old Dmitry Itskov believes technology will allow him to live forever in a hologram body.

Not sure if you mean to clone his own head..... Wouldn't that then have the exact same problem as the original head has in that a clone is an exact replica?

Or use the healthy head of another cloned person? Which then leads to a moral dilemma in that wouldn't the clone have the exact same rights and choices as any other human being to not be used willy nilly for experiments as the original?

What about the concept of cloning oneself for spare parts?...Is this moral or ethical?...

Someone's head onto a donor body.

Sergio Canavero says the first head transplant patient will be a Chinese national, who will have surgery this year

Don't take this the wrong way, I hope the surgery works for him, hope he makes it through this, but quite honestly I don't think these surgeons or specialists can do it...I think this is going to be too difficult a task, too complicated still to perform a surgery like this...I hope I'm wrong but that's how I see it...

We have to question why we are so opposed or put off by it. A donor body is no different than a donor limb or heart. And if we went further and simply used a cloned body instead of a donor body....what is the source of our hesitation or repulsion?

The real problem is that virtually every major organ is wired to the brain - And even if you can successfully reconect the spinal cord - Will the new head/body interface operate all the organs correctly???

At any rate here it goes:

The First Human Head Transplant Has Been Scheduled For 2017
"
Earlier this year Italian neuroscientist Sergio Canavero shocked the world when he announced he would perform the world’s first human head transplant. This week Canavero announced the procedure is scheduled for December 2017, and he has recruited a head surgeon (pun intended) to lead the controversial procedure. This operation may sound like something out of a horror movie, but one man is hoping it will improve his quality of life.

A 30-year-old Russian man, Valery Spiridonov, volunteered for the procedure in the hope of living a more normal life. The computer scientist suffers from a rare motor neuron disease known as Werdnig-Hoffmann Disease. The disease causes motor neurons – the nerve cells responsible for sending signals from the central nervous system to your muscles – to deteriorate, which leads to muscle atrophy and in severe cases, difficulty swallowing and breathing. Currently there is no treatment for this disease.

“When I realized that I could participate in something really big and important, I had no doubt left in my mind and started to work in this direction,” Spiridonov, a Russian computer scientist, told Central European News (CEN). “The only thing I feel is the sense of pleasant impatience, like I have been preparing for something important all my life and it is starting to happen.”...................:"

Yeah, tell me about it. You know what really makes me angry? It is legal to take medicine , perform surgeries or for instance IVF? It's also against nature, isn't it? But nowadays it's a common thing. But clone humans-nah, you can't :(

'They' will tell you its a moral, religious, or ethical issue - My opinion is its a money issue - Something tells me if you have enough money, lots of money, and the technology makes it possible - I would bet you you could find some group that will try it for you.

Meantime that Russian I wrote about above is not doing his AI type clone for everyone - I read somewhere he is looking for billionaires to sign up for his program.

That's assuming that a cloned body would not be sentient and not be able to feel pain, grow old, get hurt in accidents and have feelings and emotions like a human? Would not need to eat and sleep or shit?

Where would you keep these clones specifically created for body parts? In a cage or some sort of jail like structure while they await to have various body parts cut off and used?

Or would you just create the clone on demand when needed?
