No predictions or time travelers here, just script. I think somewhere on some level, the show also mocks the brainwashed society who still couldn't figure out that every major events are scripted and planned decades ago. That is why it's the longest running TV show.

    Just my opinion though.

Personally I think they are all coincidence.

The Simpsons have covered so many different topics over the years, some of the "predictions" are bound to happen.

    Higgs Boson

In a 1998 episode, "The Wizard of Evergreen Terrace," Homer writes out an equation on a chalkboard which, if solved, “you get the mass of a Higgs boson that’s only a bit larger than the nano-mass of a Higgs boson actually is," says Simon Singh, science author.

    Disney Owns Fox

Back in 1998, a quick scene in "The Simpsons" showed 20th Century Fox as "a Division of Walt Disney Co." And late in 2017, Disney was deep in talks to acquire much of the Fox empire, including the film and TV studio.

    Smart Watches

The Simpsons had smart watches first. In a 1995 episode in which the show is set in the future, Lisa's husband is shown speaking to a phone on his wrist. The first smartwatch wasn't created until 2013.

Did 'The Simpsons' predict Toys R Us closing? Fans are convinced a 2004 episode hints at the store company going out of business

    • Fans of 'The Simpsons' are convinced that a 2004 episode predicted the closing of Toys R Us
    • In the episode, angry childless adults destroy everything child-like and defaced Toys R Us by flipping the logo's backward 'R' the proper way
    • Fans have been flooding social media with theories that the episode was trying to hint that the toy store would one day close its doors for good
    • Toyrs R Us announced last week it was closing all of its US stores as part of a liquidation

There are too many of these predictions to be a coincidence. Maybe some of the key writers for the show are abductees and are given the information.

    no
no abductee needed, most writers can tap in an unseen ability that makes them write stuff that is synchronistic

    ok I seek the truth!
The 2000 episode "Bart to the future "
    Does mention a Trump presidency.
however the escalator footage is from the 2016 short "trumptastic voyage."
So the escalator footage is indeed modren! And made AFTER the event!
So this claim is untrue. the escalator footage is modern!
    good catch humanoid!

Did The Simpsons also predict coronavirus? Fans claim storyline about flu outbreak spreading from Japan to the US bears eerie similarities to deadly outbreak

The Simpsons predicted the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus 27 years ago, fans of the cartoon have claimed. In an episode from 1993 a virus called Osaka Flu spreads through Springfield after residents order juicers from Japan.

The claim emerged on social media after fans began posting about the similarities between the episode of the show titled 'Marge in Chains' and the current global outbreak. Scenes show the juicers being packed into boxes as sick workers cough all over them - sending the virus to America.
